  1. I have, I don't recall the Captain objecting.
  2. I checked in two weeks ago for a cruise next week and got a 12:00 boarding time, which is what I wanted. Because you asked, I just went back in to see available boarding times and 12:00 is still available 8 days before embarkation. In this case it would have made no difference if I dawdled. Your results may vary.
  3. I prefer dealing with a travel agent. A cruise line employee is working to maximize the cruise line's bottom line. A travel agent works for his customers and can provide service and benefits including PPG and OBC that an Oceania employee cannot and will not. Anecdote: My friend booked an Oceania Suite for a SA cruise that was cancelled in January 2022. I was booked in a B class cabin. While my TA got my refund from O almost immediately, my friend was ghosted by "her" Oceania Rep for a week and finally had to get a supervisor involved to help her. This isn't a close call. It's foolish to book directly with Oceania.
  4. Piper-Heidsieck is a different producer than Heidsieck Monopole, but they were related a few centuries back.
  5. He was a regular at the Nevele, every comedian that played there told that same joke. I'm sure they were telling it back in the 20's and '30, in both English and Yiddish.
  6. Then please do 😇I promise not to tell a soul.
  7. Nope, but it reminds me of a joke told in the Catskills about a woman who complained about her food, how awful it was, how poorly prepared and seasoned. She ended with "and the portions were so small".
  8. Is it the Rock, or someone who's first name rhythms with rock?

  10. No strawberries? A meeting should be called
  11. Glad you made it back to protected waters with just some rocking. Enjoy all the glaciers.
  12. “The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ, Moves on: nor all thy Piety nor Wit Shall lure it back to cancel half a Line, Nor all thy Tears wash out a Word of it.” ― Omar Khayyám
  13. Hopefully Marina gets tucked safely into the Beagle Channel tonight. Looks like the weather is about to turn.
  14. Nope, if they do that it cuts into their average passenger onboard spend, thus the bottom line.
  15. It doesn't come naturally to me, but I'm trying to mellow with age.
  16. It's all relative to personal experience and expectations. I live in a rural area and was dependent on satellite internet until less than two years ago, when I got fiber optic cable. The slow shipboard speeds just don't phase me after 15 years of really crappy service. Plus, I remember 2400 baud modems. That was slow. Is there room for improvement? Of course, and for those who need it, I hope it improves. I'll muddle along until it does.
  17. I find it amusing when people complain about how poorly the dancing bear dances instead of being impressed that it dances at all.
  18. Certainly, if Cruise Critic hadn't disabled that function years ago.
  19. The Marina's current location, ORV is in the little red circle.
  20. Given the delays on Vista's delivery, was anyone really surprised by this?
  21. It is in the Antarctic Peninsula and no, you can't on this cruise.
  22. Looks like you are heading for Deception Island, I hope the captain takes Marina into Neptunes Bellows, you know, for practice next month.
  23. By George ORV, you are by King George Island. About 5 miles off the starboard side of the ship.
  24. I don't think half measures will do, anyway you slice it.
  25. Currently Orv and the Marina are just North of the Antarctic Peninsula so he may not have internet access. Marina is
