  1. Just imagine having that much talent in your back pocket.
  2. We go to the bank before every trip and get at least $100 in $5 dollar bills. Tips are not expected onboard. We give to the crew fund, very important IMHO. We tip our room steward, and occasionally special service. We sometimes bring back gifts from shore for employees who can't get off. Especially those with children or loved ones at home. Tipping in the U.S. is out of control.
  3. They are both excellent hotels, you will not be disappointed with the W. Although we prefer the grounds and pool at the Mandarin we like the El Golf neighborhood around the W. Isidora Goyenechea has a vibrant street and restaurant scene. Tiramisu has killer pizza. Hop on Hop off bus is easily caught nearby. In order to catch a taxi you will need to download the local app. I believe Didi, Cabify and Uber are the 3. Check with the Concierge to see what is the best to use now.
  4. Inquiring minds. Doubanjiang (Chinese: 豆瓣酱, pinyin: dòubànjiàng, IPA: [tôʊpântɕjâŋ]), also known as douban, toban-djan, broad bean chili sauce, or fermented chili bean paste, is a hot and savoury Chinese bean paste made from fermented broad beans, chili peppers, soybeans, salt and flour. Chee Hou Sauce (zhù hóu jiàng, 柱侯酱), also sometimes called “chu hou paste,” is a fermented soybean sauce similar to Hoisin sauce but with a different mix of seasonings, including more unusual ingredients like salted plums, salted lemons and fermented bean curd (though ingredients vary by brand). Shacha Sauce (shāchá jiàng, 沙茶酱) is a Chinese condiment made from oil, garlic, shallots, chilies, and seafood (usually brill fish and dried shrimp). It has an intensely savory, mildly seafood-y flavor. Amazon here I come.
  5. One heck of a jump in the 10 year this a.m. I guess they were hoping Powell would take out the "one more rate hike this year" statement. Housing is now officially dead. Repo trade- that takes me back.
  6. Uh Oh Rate hikes will have trouble solving this. Prices in LA.
  7. My sister, traveling solo, was with us in the connecting cabin. The butler added a third just in case she came over. It is true, not all butlers are created equal. Their service can depend on how many cabins they have and how demanding the occupants are.
  8. Yes, caviar is served with all the "fixins". I prefer it simply with good butter and a baguette. A good butler anticipates. Came back from a wet and muddy hike to find this set up along with a hot bath already drawn. Returning from dinner this is what my messy muddy shoes looked like, without asking. You can ask for canapés every day.
  9. Thanks for posting this. Very helpful. And of course all your fabulous photos. Wishing you a wonderful journey.
  10. Yes'm! Mini hijack for shiny things. Currently at a trade show. Mother nature at her finest.
  11. Great report. Look forward to hearing more. Have a fabulous journey.
  12. Scant info about tides in Alpefjord on the internet. If the chart below us correct only a 6 foot swing. The longer she sits and goes through tidal swings the more the silt will suck her in. That arm in Aplefjord is not often traveled. Lots of risks being taken by these Captains on new ships.
  13. We asked them to remove some of the hangars on our last trip.
  14. Just north of Scorsby for those that are interested. Currently three ships in Scorsby and Hurtigruten just outside Alpefjord. Sorry for the mini hijack.
  15. I read that yesterday and thought of you. Wow, 50% of the volume. Those Robinhood Gamblers are just to lazy to do any market research work. Covered calls for example. Great way to add some Alpha. Heck, just do the research on which funds use the strategy and let them do the daily work.
  16. Somebody waved their magic wand. Status matched. I'm a Grand Admiral now!😁
