  1. Maybe they were giving you the offers before to get bodies on the ship and now that capacities areup they don’t need to add too many bodies to fill the ship. Just a guess
  2. I believe if you are on the water you will connect to the ships tower.
  3. Like the other poster said its nothing more than a cold for most people. My spouse has it now.runny nose, cough, and sore throat.
  4. What is it that you would call it?
  5. My tip for Oasis is to make good use of your time by skipping cats. I’m on Oasis for the 3rd time October 23 and I certainly won’t attend unless I need a nap . 🙂
  6. Booked for next April in Havana cabana.
  7. I would believe the numbers of a corporate officer if I heard them from his mouth or I read a quote from said CFO. Not believing it just because somebody post on Cruise Critic that the CFO said so.
  8. even if CCL is sailing full how many of those pax are booked with these super cheap rates?
  9. Thanks for the link but I didn’t see the part about the break even occupancy.
  10. We wouldn't either now that we are older but we did penty of times when we were young and healthier. YMMV
  11. where does one get the information on what the break even point is? Your reply says around 80% while wheres walter said around 35% which I think is way to low but since I have no idea where to gain the information I'd thought I'd ask.
  12. so what is the correct answer if it's incorrect? Your reply didn't answer the question either
  13. I think you may be in the wrong forum.ðŸĪŠ
  14. There are enough ports without restrictions that there wouldn't be a need for cruises to nowhere.
  15. as this story alludes to: Carnival Stock Could Fall to $0 in a Worst-Case Scenario, Analyst Says - MarketWatch
  16. Yes time will tell. Not sure how you know if they consider them compettition but OK. I would consider any new comers as competition but I don't run a business. They probably don't consider them much competition since they only appeal to the adults only market but it take away some pax that previously cruised with Carnival. There is enough pie for everybody to coexist
  17. I guess they weighed their options. Either we start sailings as scheduled with staff shortages and supply chain issues or cancel until May 2023 in hopes of things being better by then. Don't think lines for things, and certain items and/or venues not available would be a good start to a new cruise line and could hurt their word of mouth advertising and reputation. Maybe Carnival should have used this logic and not rushed all ships back into service. They're getting by OK and with prices being so low most people are accepting of these circumstances.
  18. you need some 10 day itineraries to get into the Caribbean from NY but then you don't have that many people who can get off for that long a period of time.. Catch 22
  19. but Carnival hires IT people because that is needed to run their ships
  20. I did not catch the part about it being just for suite guest. I just read the bolded print. My bad!
  21. what is misleading ? It says your stateroom is ready when you board so you are correct you can get on at 11am and shower if you want.
  22. we had somewhat the same experience, Worked for the first couple days, then wouldn't work, then worked the last day or 2.
