  1. I'd love to know how much money those on free casino cruisers have won or more likely lost in order to take a free cruise. 🙂
  2. Jeanie, pay attention. You're in the UK. So you're in the best place of all to take advantage of the best cruise pricing. You can book in the UK. Or you can book in the US also. You get to pick and choose the best deals if you want to as you're not limited to one region. Also bear in mind that a lot of cruise prices are better in the UK right now. The important thing to bear in mind is that you must compare cruises on an individual basis. It's rare but it can be suites are cheaper in the US and balcony rooms are cheaper in the UK on the very same sailing! I've just booked an Azamara cruise which was around 65% cheaper in the UK to book. Yes that's sixty five and not six point five! I got quotes from our regular US based TA who didn't believe the price I'd quoted him from the UK. Celebrity UK often have offers for UK sailings that are regularly cheaper to book in the UK. Last minute Caribbean sailings will likely be a lot cheaper when booked in the US as the big box TA's block book inventory and have to sell them off. There's also considerably more competition in the Caribbean and many mega ships based there. So prices do look cheap compared to European sailings. Next time you're ready to book look at UK pricing and the big box US based TA's and smile as you're able to choose the best deal. 🙂
  3. I know that guy in the real world. Very, very well in fact. He'll be flattered by your post. 🙂
  4. We got an S1 sky suite on Beyond in January 2024, 11 nights for under £3000 ($3510) per person. That included a total of $1525 OBC after transferring the booking to a TA. Just to put new pricing into perspective.
  5. This reads like a post I read on a well known social media site covering Celebrity cruises. It's almost word for word. I assume you read it previously! 🙂
  6. Well Celebrity announced cruise prices for Apex sailings from Southampton today. Does anyone else expect pretty big drops between now and sail date? At around £250 per person per night in an inside cabin and £550 for a sky suite, I don't think they will be filling the ship quickly at current prices. Other cruise lines are available... 🙂
  7. What a disappointment. I was hoping Lisa Lutof-Perlo was going to be replaced.
  8. I'd like to see all suites include butlers. But having just returned from Pursuit I'd like to see some additional training for their existing butlers. For the first time ever I had ours replaced. A decision I didn't take lightly. And apparently he wasn't new. 😞
  9. Thanks. That makes perfect sense.
  10. Thanks for the heads up Belfastman. We're onboard very soon and there are a couple of cruises we're very interested in so I was wondering what the onboard offers would be. I'm Discoverer plus. So as it's normally 7% discount, am I correct in thinking that double discount gives us 14% off plus an additional 10% for a total of 24% discount on the published fares? I ask at that sounds too good to be true? Or is the 10% already applied as part of a current offer? Thanks in advance.
  11. I've sailed on 3 Celebrity cruises so far this year. Service and food quality have really dropped and it's very noticeable. However you'll find all of the same problems on all of the other cruise lines in the same segment. So, despite me thinking some aspects of cruising with Celebrity are a bit 'meh' right now I'm not going to stop sailing with them. I reckon it could be a couple of years before we see pre pandemic levels of service and food and beverage standards return to what they once were. Possibly even longer.
  12. Luminae has always had a kids menu. We often order the 4 oz fillet mignon from the kids menu on the side of our regular order.
  13. The one with big gay Al and his big gay animal sanctuary?
  14. Funny you should say that. I've dined in Tuscan on four separate cruises now. Three times they've got the cooking point completely wrong! :) Needles to say I've never been back on any ship fora few years now. It has a great location on S class ships, but I much prefer Murano.
  15. I sailed in a SS on back to backs in February / March and a SS onboard Reflection last month. Apex was a significantly better experience, not because they ship was newer but because they had more experienced crew aboard. Reflection was a bit meh after experiencing such good service aboard Apex so recently. The Luminae and shore excursions team were a real let down to be honest. However I think I'd still pick a Reflection sky suite over an IV cabin....
  16. Noise is more probable than possible. Find a deck plan. Get some potential cabin numbers and then look at the stickied M class cabin thread for feedback.
  17. The Caribbean and the Mediterranean are the two most lucrative cruise destinations on the planet. Alaska is number three. Therefore RCL group will want to keep it's newest, shiniest and most in demand ships there for a few years. I'd be amazed if Beyond and Ascent for example venture out of these two areas in the first few years of their lives. I'm guessing here but..... A stateroom with a balcony is seen as desirable for Alaskan cruises. E class ships have IV's. A lot of people don't like these state rooms as the window can be disabled by the captain when experiencing inclement weather which is likely in Alaska. So E class ships are better suited for warmer climes.
  18. Not sure why you've quoted me HJ because I'm in full agreement. Choice is very important to me too. I sail different lines because I need a change of scenery. It's not much fun when you start to remember what's on the menu on a particular night etc.... :)
  19. I've not sailed with Virgin. The Calisthenics would be a turn off for me too. There are other lines I'd avoid more though.
  20. Can anyone work out Branson's target demographic? I'm sure there are many 'reviewers' and influencers who are swayed by the perks they receive. To be fair to him though I have seen him talk about negative aspects of Virgin Voyages in his videos and he does raise legitimate concerns in the video I linked to. So he does strike me as a man of integrity.
  21. We boarded the ship at 11.30. From arriving at the port we were in our suite in under 10 minutes!
  22. We've used it four times in the last nine months. It's always been applied to both RCL and Celebrity sailings without issue. Twice we've had emails confirming that it's been applied. Twice we've had no notification but it's been applied to our onboard account within the first day of cruising. . I remember reading about a guy who lived aboard Summit for 10 to 11 months a year doing B2B2B2B2 + etc. But I forget his name. I'm guessing he was a stockholder who really did get his monies worth.
  23. I view them with a little bit of caution too. However I've watched a lot of this guys videos and have concluded that he's far more objective than many of the other vloggers I've seen. The ones to avoid are the US TA's who describe everything as 'awesome', 'unbelievable' and 'top notch'. They really do make my skin crawl. He does receive free cruises on occasion but is completely upfront about that. As an example he mentions this when reviewing Virgin's Scarlet Lady within the first minute of this review. I'm glad Gary Bembridge does what he does. :)
  24. They divide opinion more than any other aspect of cruising Celebrity. You will have one in your Aqua Class room. If you don't want one you need to consider changing to a Sunset Verandah if there's any left as they're very popular or upgrade to a sky suite.
  25. I've sailed on Summit, Constellation and Millennium. But I'm really not a big fan of M class ships at all. If the OP likes an itinerary and price, then I'd say go with it. But there are much nicer ships out there from Celebrity and other lines. I was sad to see Murano (Ocean Liners) restaurant replaced with Tuscan (which I dislike greatly) and Qsine replaced with LPC (Which was fun but very much a one and done for me). So on longer itineraries I'd personally be bored with a lack of dining venues and bars compared to other ships. I'd only book an M class ship again if I really wanted to do the itinerary and the price was great. I'd be bored on a cruise with many sea days though. I think the OP is right to ask the question. I also think those who have only ever sailed on E class would be disappointed if sailing on an M class ship. I know some members love M class and will disagree, but they're no longer for me. I just find the competition much better.
