  1. So any, but here are just a few. We were to sail from Singapore to Hong Kong. Two days prior to flying to Singapore, i was at the hospital making rounds. I walked round a corner and slipped on some water left by those huge floor polishing machines--and broke my shoulder in 3 places. I called George from the ER and told him what had happened and that we would have to cancel the cruise. He said no way. I went to surgery, came out with a plate and 8 pins in my shoulder, spent the night in the hospital then went home. My daughter in law's mother came over and packed for me. My orthopedist thought I was crazy, but we flew to Singapore the next day. Another time, we were going to the Caribbean in February. It started snowing hard two days before we were to fly to Miami. And by hard, I mean 27 inches in 24 hours. Unheard of for Tulsa. The airport closed. I kept watching and watching and it became clear that the airport was not reopening. So we drove to Dallas in the 4 wheel drive truck to catch a flight. A drive that would normally take 3 hours took 6, but we made it just barely. And another. We had an ant issue at the house. George put down poison and somehow my cat walked in it and then licked her paws the day before we were to fly out. She was foaming at the mouth and throwing up all night. I took her to the vet the next morning (a saturday). and left her there. I had to sign papers giving my friend temporary custody in case something happened.
  2. We don't use Regent air, but have done a B2B cruise once and the cost was less than if I had booked the 2 cruises separately.
  3. Stunning pictures. It has been years since we visited Alesund, but I recall enjoying it very much.
  4. Those little foxes are so cute! Portolan, wish I were onboard, as I would gladly join your trivia team and provide medical advice.
  5. The pizza is unbelievably disgusting--something I would never expected to find on Regent. And it had melting into the top of the frig--oooh! but how did the housekeeper not see/smell it when readying the room is beyond me. George and I always seem to have a bit of drama before embarking on a cruise. Glad the hurricane missed you. ' Cadiz is one of our favorite walking around cities too!
  6. There is a good reason why I have OCD about checking upcoming flights frequently, and this is it. I once had a flight where the airline changed the schedule (had nothing to do with Regent, as I do not use Regent air), and the connecting flight was leaving prior to the first flight landing. I was not notified. Had I not been checking, I guess we would have found out at the airport. When I called the airline, they had no explanation as to why I wasn't notified other than a computer error.
  7. second the bummer on missing Heimaey. We have been there twice. First time, we were unable to land but close enough that we could see the puffins on the rocks, etc. Second time was a landing, and we hiked quite a ways, which was very nice.
  8. Happy to hear there is a walking/jogging track as I was looking at the deck plans and couldn't really tell for sure. That is a requirement for me. On the old Silversea Explorer, there wasn't a proper one, so I made one up which involved ducking under lifeboats, etc, but I did a lot of miles on that.
  9. It depends where in the world you are. I have seen people swimming laps, etc before breakfast sometimes, but others, they still have the net over it.
  10. Looking forward to following along. We have been to Iceland several times, and it is a favorite. We have never done the HOHO bus in Reykjavik as it is just a great city for walking, but the Golden circle tour is good, though it wouldn't be so good in the rain, so you were probably fine to just save your money.
  11. loved reading your fair report. The Prime 7 dessert incident is one I wished I could have witnessed in person.
  12. In Copenhagen, it is very feasible to do and I have done more than once. The resistance museum is nearby and worth seeing. Copenhagen is a great city for walking.
  13. Big grain of salt to swallow there. your pictures of the Faroes are spectacular. When we were there, it was cold, very overcast, with strong wind and intermittent blowing rain. I was happy to leave because the weather was so terrible. How much a place is enjoyed is certainly afftected by the weather.
  14. Another who agrees about the shows which have some loose plot. I have never seen one that made any sense. They just need to sing and dance and not attempt a plot.
  15. Happy your arrival was smooth. And yes, that new Delta lounge at JFK is quite nice. Though sitting in the plane for 2 hours waiting to take off wasn’t.
  16. Are your seats even upgradable? Not sure.
  17. Charter is included. We arrive in Santiago late afternoon and were supposed to be on an evening flight on AA which would have been super easy. Flight was cancelled and we were taken to a hotel along with a huge Chinese tour group. The hotel was fine, but the offered included dinner was awful. We went to the bar which was much better. There was lots of coughing and hacking among the Chinese group. This was February 2020. Just saying. Husband got super sick after we got home and thought he was going to die. I was a little sick with a cough.
  18. Loving your comments and photos. We have never tried that ice cream sampler in Pacific Rim. I usually eat too much in that venue and give dessert a no. But you have inspired me to try it next month.
  19. Sounds awful. We have embarked and disembarked in Venice before when it was at the cruise terminal in town, and that was difficult enough. We kind of decided we weren’t going there again.
  20. If you walk to the right when you go out of the Hilton, there are some very nice restaurants right on the canal. The hotel restaurant is also quite good, and the breakfast buffet is wonderful, or at least it was pre-covid.
  21. CWN's advice is good. We have had times change significantly. We have either had my husband and I were put into different times when the tour had multiple departures, so one of the first things I do when we get to our suite, even before unpacking is look at all the tickets and make sure the times are correct.
  22. East coast of Greenland is stunning.
  23. You can have other people's tickets to exchange. We often do this when traveling with friends.
