  1. dandee I’m not following your thinking, bottom lines are more to do with current balance sheet than the price that was paid for the vessel decades ago,
  2. Thank you Misty, great stuff. May I assume the crew are their usual awesome selves?
  3. Thank for such a full response, and very reassuring too.
  4. Joining the windsurf in March in the Caribbean, by my calculation there are ten tender stops on our 14 day cruise. Can anybody comment on speed and efficiency of the tender service. Thank you Should add it’s our first time on the surf so any other comments much appreciated.
  5. Much appreciated Misty Morning, thank you.
  6. I should have asked this earlier. Is Wavefinder technology available on Windsurf? I am particularly interested in keeping track of on board expenses from the tv in the suite, as opposed to having to ask reception for a printout every couple of days. Thanks again
  7. Thanks Piedpiper, I also noticed that starlink is unavailable in FP so that explains why windspirit does not have it. we’ve noticed a bit improvement in speed where starlink is available on Windstar
  8. Just wondering if anybody can confirm if StarLink has been added to Windsurf yet. Looking at sailing with her in March. Any comments on condition of the ship would be most welcome. I know there is a two step refurb starting next November 2024. Thank you and Happy New Year to all.
  9. I was on the Legend last spring, and got the sense there was some passive aggressive push back going on from the kitchen. The vegan, plant based and sugar free options were abysmal. As mentioned previously, the plant based burger was not to be taken seriously. I’ll eat anything and am well pleased with my dining options on Windstar, but I empathize with passengers who have special dietary requirements.
  10. I was never certain the sailing ships were going to last, this is great news!
  11. based on what you wrote, skip the beverage package, as stated above all non alcoholic beverages are included in your fare. On recent cruises we’ve been asked to keep bags indoors until 06.00 a.m. then place outside suite
  12. As best I can recall we were not given $ obc as three star passengers either, because our ticket was discounted, but we enjoyed the % off of purchases on board that normally apply to three star passengers . Our fare was based on an interline discount.
  13. that was my experience with that particular pursers asst. who was working reception when I asked. Sorry about earlier typo 😀. I should add we were also enjoying a discounted fare,
  14. sorry for your loss, I hope you’re richly rewarded for stepping back out into cruise life.
  15. stay away from the amphora end of that deck, otherwise as you will be right beside the heavily used tender
  16. we were mid cruise when we hit 90 nights, I asked reception and got instant up grade to free wifi. Now that Windstar uses Starlink, the wife was very good.
  17. Putting aside the logistics of getting off the ship before it arrives, I’d say aim for an 08.30 -09.00 tour pickup as your earliest booking time. It’s a small ship which is good for a quick disembarkation, but they’ll will give preference to passengers booked on a Windstar tour, should one clash with your booking time,
  18. you’ve probably already seen this, but my count is 60 suites queen only, 96 twins/ twins pushed together. We like sleeping in the same bed and have found the twin pushed together concept unfavorable on a couple of occasions. I’d say it’s a tough call for Windstar trying to find the goldilocks combination on this.
  19. I wonder if this will result in a fuller ship on the voyage departing 8/28. It’s been mentioned in another thread that a packed yacht in cooler weather makes for a crowded veranda and yacht club. I’m just speculating that a chunk of the passengers from the 8/17 cruise were offered and accepted the 8/28 sailing, notwithstanding the logistics of disembarkation in Anchorage instead of Vancouver.
  20. Looks like long pants are required at Candles The Luxury As You Like It attitude of a Windstar ship is also reflected in the way our guests dress: Imaginative, yet relaxed. Stylish, yet comfortable. Just as you would dress at an elegant resort. Clothes that are light and cool, made of natural fabrics like cotton, silk, and linen, are most appropriate. For women's daytime wear, we suggest walking shorts, skirts, sarongs, lightweight tops and cover-ups; for evening wear, sun dresses, pants, and informal cocktail attire. Men's daytime wear: walking/ Bermuda shorts, polo shirts, khaki pants; in the evening, lightweight trousers and short-sleeved dress/polo shirts. No suits or ties. And no shorts, flip-flops, ripped or torn jeans, hats or t-shirts in Amphora or Candles during the evening. If your cruise takes you to Monte Carlo, please note that casinos there require men to wear both a tie and a jacket.
  21. you’ll need long pants for Amphora
