  1. I go with /s; I want to be quite obvious as my kids like to point out "I look up when they say gullible is written on the ceiling."
  2. Pretty sure that you can have breakfast in Moderno's and lunch in Cagney's. That's what we had on the Star in December. Yes, the phone number works for suite as well as Haven guests as I used it for our upcoming cruise on a Gem-class ship,
  3. Just signed in no problem. Looked at a couple different pages. Again, no problem. Perhaps you should contact NCL. You might need to clear the cache on your computer. I am sure that someone will let me/you know if that could work. I wish you good luck in solving your problem.
  4. Because you are in a suite or else you have Latitudes status. Haven and suite guests get to book 130 days out, club balcony and Latitude members Platinum and above 125 days , everyone else 120 days. Frequently Asked Questions (ncl.com)
  5. Thanks so much for posting. I just took advantage of this. I'm glad I clicked on "Next unread topic" or I wouldn't have known as I haven't followed this topic. Updated: I guess I would have known as I just got an email from NCL. But I'm not sure I would have known that I could apply it to an already booked cruise. Thanks.
  6. Did not know that. It does, however, account for why when our flight to St. Thomas via Charlotte from Dulles got canceled because we couldn't make the connection in Charlotte, that American has already put us on the non-stop on United - a faster and more expensive flight.
  7. You'll be getting off as we are getting on. We're arriving two days early. As a kid, I saw a gardening show which talked about Butchart Gardens. I've wanted to visit that place ever since. So, we'll be doing a day trip over to Victoria while you're having a day at sea. Wishing you fun travels. Oh, do you intend to do a live from the Jewel, then? If so, I will definitely need to follow as I enjoy your reviews.
  8. Putting on a wet one-piece ladies' bathing suit. I always look forward to your reviews. Will be up in your neighborhood for a cruise on the Jewel.in May.
  9. If you both want to use your 150-minutes of internet at the same time if you have FAS, then he will need his own login. We purchase the unlimited leser WiFi and we share my id, with only one of us on at a time. If he wants to be on at the same time, then he uses his id and his 150-minutes. It is handy for him to have his own id anyway, as some things can get split and he will only see things related to him. For instance, NCLH owners' benefit, I only see the $50 given to me on my part of the bill, not his. Or else, I only will see my cruise next points, not his. Ergo, I would recommend that he get his own login. He can always let you know what it is.
  10. Sorry to hear that your plans got messed up. When I looked at the pictures, the pier did not look familiar. I was waiting to see if you'd docked at the other port. Now I know. Again sorry to hear.
  11. Yes, you can do that, just NOT online as the system is set up to have either the first two people or no one have the same option. You have to call NCL, or I guess you could use the chat feature of the website. I just email/call my PCC, personal cruise consultant, and she adds one unlimited package under my name which my husband and I alternately share.
  12. I'd intended to have this picture with a whale spouting. I uploaded the wrong one before. You may need to use your imagination, though. (Anselm Adams would not have seen me as competition.) (The whale if just a little below dead center.) At one point we counted 5 whales just behind the ship. It was an amazing day! The luckiest shot I got..
  13. We were there in Dec. We were fortunate that the weather cooperated, These guys hitchhiked on an iceberg.
  14. You forgot the $50 for first person on excursions and the 150 minutes of WiFi. These last two have no additional fees.
  15. No, they fold it and put it in a basket. Each item will have a sticker on it which can be pulled off.
  16. The second guest may have the "fly" free option. The sail free is for third and fourth guest and is sometimes $99, not free. Is that what you meant?
  17. I believe the $29 for a bag is a special, which occurs around day 3 or 4 on a 7 day cruise. There were two $29/bag days on our 16-day cruise, although they only advertised the second time it occurred which was day 12, I think.
  18. I wonder would the hiking boots I packed for walking in penguin poop meet muster. I won't know as the Star doesn't have a Haver restaurant. Oh, I do need to point out that breakfast in Modernos does include the almond croiisant. Sorry, Gary, but not a fan. Access to the salmon, now that is much more my style.
  19. As it turns out (whoops!), my grandfather had another man who turned the posts, so they do match.
  20. Not cruise related, but when I saw your bed, I just had to chime in. My father was a cabinet maker from age 12 to 55 when he changed careers and then just dabbled in furniture repair. My grandfather and father's shop specialized in fine art Colonial reproduction furniture. When I saw the picture of the bed, I just had to chime it. My father was a fantastic craftsman, but he always noted that he could turn a post, but never 4 so that they would match. (Much easier now with lathes that can do excellent jobs of copying a turned piece.) I attached a picture of the bed that my father made for my mother as his wedding present to her. (We are awash in custom-made beds - the problem is they require custom-made box springs and mattresses.) (Our son and DIL will be staying at the house while we are on a cruise, so we're getting the room ready for them.)
