  1. Wow. This is really something!! Was this sarcasm?? (I'm guessing, "yes")🤣
  2. To be fair to @zqvol, I haven't been to Mexico for decades, and I never will go back. But, best wishes to those who decide to take the risk. I see little comfort in the fact that there are armed troops all over the place. I doubt they're there to control the NCL cruisers who have snuck food off the ship or taken too good advantage of the beverage package.
  3. You're sailing on one of the two best ships in the NCL fleet. That's all you need to know. It's all downhill from here.
  4. It's the second layer that concerns many. If stuff happens in FLA, it's easy to get additional help from police, family, etc. They're just a phone call away. If stuff happens in the third world, you're screwed.
  5. Or just sail to beautiful AK or HI.
  6. Is there a reason that people are anxious to unpack their checked baggage? Can't it wait until later? (after lunch, a few drinks and generally enjoying the rest of the ship)
  7. Can you post a daily? This would be highly unusual.
  8. Yeah. It's a fact that nobody wants to see 99.9% of cruise passengers getting dressed. That number may be low.....
  9. Just how big are these carry-ons? I take a backpack and it's never a problem. I just stick it under the table.
  10. Which itineraries are doing that now? Be careful when the add copy just says "inside passage." They take credit for all parts of the route that travel between islands and the mainland.
  11. When I was younger, I learned that quite often the only answer to expect was "because I told you so, that's why." Learning to deal with that helps when a person has to deal with the real world, where answers are not always forthcoming. That's the world I live in. Just move on and enjoy your life. It's too short to waste energy trying to get an explanation for everything.
  12. Yeah. I got that. I just didn't understand why somebody would have to be "careful" about that.
  13. Thanks. Nothing to forgive. Let's just share a friendly reminder to our fellow cruisers that the Sun can and has been a (literal) killer. I haven't been in the Vibe. If they sell special cabanas, IMHO they should allow for full shade come rain, shine or wind. I literally cringe when I see people baking their skin in the sun. Hopefully one or two will talk to their doctors and adjust their cruising behaviors as appropriate. 😎 ETA: apparently @zqvolconsiders this a laughing matter. I don't understand that at all.
  14. Well, it would be prudent to speak with one's doctor as part of determining their own situation, but where is the fun in that? Of course not. Not really. But a reason to stay out of the vibe when it's too windy for umbrellas. Well, that makes you a dermatologist's bread and butter (not something any dermatologist would be happy about, but reality). Skin cancer happens. A lot. Feel free to ignore that. I wish you all well.
  15. This is disturbing. It is extremely unhealthy (i.e. high risk) for some people to experience extended sun exposure. 🧛‍♀️
  16. Is some of that due to NCL's new policy of including all fees and taxes in advertised fares? Did you do a full mock booking to confirm?
  17. Bottom line for me: Booking MDR reservations in advance costs nothing and is a fun way to make the upcoming cruise more real. It takes just a few (enjoyable) moments and there is no commitment. Booking MDR reservations is (almost) always of no help and what some might consider a "horrible waste of my valuable time that I could waste elsewhere (like posting on the internet)." IOW: to each their own. Nobody should be told NOT to book the MDR. Nobody should be told that booking the MDR will provide valuable returns. It is largely noise, that doesn't really warrant any strong opinions one way or the other.
  18. Yeah, I had cheese and the "party" two months ago. Probably not "great" news, just plain old news....
  19. LOL. However, the post I responded to stated "nearly all lounges," hence <400. 😎
  20. Yep. How many chairs are there? How many passengers on the ship? If there are 4000 passengers and 400 chairs, the math checks out! 😎
