  1. Ok. Got an answer. For the champagne breakfast they enter your room once. During the dinner they enter multiple times and they aren't ready to do that just yet. K
  2. Interesting. Guess I'll be talking to the room service manager again. K
  3. Meaning they have been selling the balcony dinner for this cruise but are not fulfilling the requests and are refunding the cost. When I asked why, they recited the standard covid response. They then offered me room service from the MDR menu in lieu of the purchased balcony dinner. Not a good look at all. Not implying there is covid on board. My apologies if it sounded that way.
  4. Just found out balcony dinners are all cancelled. Covid boogeyman
  5. Its not the norm. You will have those that virtue signal, and otherwise try to guilt you into giving more. The corporations love this because you will subsidize salaries for them. Tipping culture is out of control.
  6. It doesn't happen. Its just an attempt to say 'look at me and how cool/much money/what level/fill in blank.. I am'.
  7. Classist much? I've been on Carnival, Celebrity, Viking, MSC.. .short cruises, long cruises. **** and people that can't hold their liquor run the whole economic range. Of course those on Carnival might over do it. It is the "Fun" ship after all. This will be my first Princess cruise, and while I expect it will be more quiet, its not due to anyone's economic position. Fun ship vs. Walking dead ship?
  8. Not sure if a veiled insult to those from the South (why does who played in the Superbowl matter?), but let me just say for all my Southern brothers and sisters... bless your heart.
  9. The night is young..and people love to beat a dead horse.
  10. As evidenced by 'milestone' cruisers, they're going to come anyway 🙂 If I'm going to get your money anyway, then you're a demographic I don't need to focus on. I need new money, with secondary spend, not those that I know are going to come anyway, and don't have a lot of secondary spend to begin with. Basic business concepts. The worth of the new dollar is more than a handful of older cruisers who won't cruise into the future due to aging out. The lack of loyalty benefits gets mainstreamed. Most of the hospitality industry is doing this now, not just cruise lines. Its ok.. you'll book with Princess next year...
  11. I spit my beer out in real life at this one... thats funny..
  12. I'm one of those. I don't expect any handouts or credit. I booked my cruise expecting that the protocols would be lifted by the time we cruised (Nov) and they have been. If they hadn't, I would still have cruised. If i get sick, then I get sick. We're vaccinated and boosted and we carry insurance if we need assistance out of country. I get why some of the older, more vulnerable may be resistant, but then the advice not to cruise is sound advice. A dose of reality...we used to get sick before Covid, we didn't get tested, we didn't wear masks, and no one carried a vaccination card on them.
  13. This exactly...its the 'Karen' on our last cruise that held 4 chairs, and then sat at the at the pool bar with her friends and didn't use the chairs for hours. Just close enough to holler at people... It didn't work the 2nd day. OTOH, she was a constant source of entertainment after that as she made herself the self appointed chair monitor to 'make a point'. Whats shocking is the demographic that tends to do this. Its not the younger crowd. Its the older 'more mature' that bring that entitled attitude.
  14. Aww Doggy. What happened to, and I quote; Dog: "All posters deserve respect" ?
  15. its neither a 'day bed' nor a 'pull out couch'. No need to spin it to simply convey you don't prefer Virgin. In my home, I have 2 twin xl's that make up a King. If i were to move one of those twin xl's sideways, put a cover on the 'mattress' and toss some throw pillows on it, it would be comparable to a Virgin Voyages setup. If you prefer the 'classic' style of box spring, mattress then you probably won't care for Virgin Voyages bed.
  16. <sarcasm on> I think it would be beneficial for older (65+) to do muster drills every day as they may forget how to put on a life jacket and they are typically slower and can benefit with constant practice. <sarcasm off> See what I did there. Good thing no one cares what you and I 'think'.
  17. Ok boomer.....smh. I'm younger than most here by 20-30 yrs., and can afford 2-3 week cruises 3-5 times a yr, and not even touch my investments and still do a 10% contribution to my savings every payday. Most of those I work with can as well. Gotta love IT work these days. Silly generalization.
  18. "I was so scarred from the experience".. SMH....
