Well, what you mean is that you are now only down 750. Once you have accrued a total of 850 in obc, you will be even. Any obc after that and you will be "up", assuming of course that the shares are then not worth less than 850, in which case, you will still be "down". You also have to think where else you could have invested your 850. If you had bought some dividend earning stock in a company in a less parlous state than CCL, paying, say, 5% pa, over two years you woukd have earnt $90 or so. That again has to be taken into account when determining if you are up or down.

All us Brits have to collect our Medallions as well. Not usually a big deal, especially if departing from the UK, as you collect them at the same time as your passports are checked. However we did have an issue on our last cruise, where we boarded in Barcelona. Security were not keen on letting us enter the terminal without a Medallion, and did not realise that the only way to show the Medallion was to go into the terminal to collect them.

Impossible question to answer regarding sea conditions. Should be OK around the Canaries, but if your cruise includes Madiera, you are more likely to encounter rough seas. December weather in the Canaries is variable. You should get some warm sunny days, but there is always the chance of cloud and rain. But, the weather will be better than in the UK ( but not as good as the Caribbean! )
