  1. I think children should be encouraged to eat in the MDR, so as to equip them with the tools they need in later life. Not necessarily about holding a knife and fork, but sitting at a table, talking to people etc.
  2. Is this any different to the previous statement.? I'm loosing track !
  3. Just to add to my previous comment. For a first time cruiser, this is a good introduction. The itinerary is interesting, the ship has a good selection of bars and restaurants, and there are good flight connections from the UK. I would be tempted myself, if I didn't have another holiday booked in November. The only possible downside is that the Med weather in November can be a bit iffy, but that would apply regardless of the cruise line. Hopefully the OP will let us know his thoughts.
  4. Whilst I understand your approach, I'm not sure that would work for a Med or Canary cruise in the winter.
  5. Isn't that a TA ? But I agree - a good ship to start with.
  6. Can't see any HA or Celebrity cruises doing Med trips in November 2022. Perhaps I'm not looking in the right place ?
  7. Yes, probably. Don't worry. They will take photos at check in.
  8. I see Virgin have discontinued testing as well.
  9. If you have the highest grade balcony cabin, you might be in with a chance, but only a very slim one!
  10. And it is certainly not worth missing your flight to South Africa just for a hour or two in London !
  11. What is this strange device you talk of ?😃
  12. Really. Up to two hours to exit the airport, two hours again to get back to departures, an hour each way to and from London, leaves you just enough time for a quick cup of tea !
  13. The issue is that the OP is wanting winter cruises in the Med or Canaries, and the lines you mention, afaik, do not operate in those areas in the winter months.
  14. I am not aware that P&O have ever needed physical photographs, certainly not in the recent past. Where did you read that you needed two photographs ?
  15. The crew will happily accept anything, but as you are in Europe, and will probably be taking sone Euros with you anyway, I would tip in Euros.
  16. The problem is that we won't cruise with Marella, and P&O are just OKish, so that leaves no choice but to sail from Florida.
  17. I would also suggest you look at Azura ((P&O) which is based in the Canaries during the winter months, and the fares include charter air flights. If you avoid Christmas and half terms, there will not be that many children on board. The only problem you may face is that as you are booking late, your choice of airports and cabins may be limited. And if you are looking for a Celebrity/HA experience, I would avoid Marella.
  18. Because there are only two options. Marella (shudder) and P&O. If you want to cruise on any other line, you are more or less limited to cruises out of Florida.
  19. As a matter of interest, assuming you did not require medical treatment, how would an insurance company know if you had had covid or not ?
  20. In a nutshell, yes. But, in all honesty, given that covid is now endemic, P&O, plus Norwegian, are just being practical.
  21. They were on Sky in October last year, so I guess they move between ships. They are good, but I would prefer them to get rid of the recorded backing track, - it's just glorified karaoke.
  22. Did you ask for a refund. It's hardly a sanctuary with that going on !
  23. No it's not For example https://www.radnorhills.co.uk/explore-our-ranges/spring-water/
