  1. What a nightmare. Waited for over 45 minutes and then get someone reading from script and seemed to have very little understanding of Princess program offers. They were clueless and refused to transfer me to another agent. This call center has to be a disaster for Princess. Princess really seems not to care about customer service anymore. Please bring back the seasoned and competent agents and save us all some grief Princess.
  2. I received the double credit on a cruise I just booked and then my wife who qualifies for the military OBC only received the normal credit. Princess rep said they are waiting for instructions how to put the double credit in the booking for the second because there is a glitch and system will not allow it as of yesterday. Stay tuned.
  3. That would be more than dressy enough. We cruise Europe almost every year and I would say the British tend to dress up on formal nights to excess. I just wore a nice short sleeve Tommy Bahama shirt, dress shoes and slacks every formal night and was always welcomed into the dining room with open arms by the Maitre D. Princess has greatly relaxed their dress code enforcement since we first started sailing with them
  4. We have done three on Royal Class ships and surprisingly there was nothing out of the ordinary that we were aware of or noticed. We have been on other cruise lines with maiden sailings and there was quite a bit of special activities and we have even received a book of the event on one ship.
  5. We have decided to sale our shares of CCL and are seriously looking at going to another cruise line. We usually do several long cruises a year so I hope Princess enjoys the extra $250 they are taking from us. It is just a matter of principle and makes no sense the way they have been peeling back benefits in the last year from Elites and others. Why not just say OBC's cannot be combined and make everyone choose?
  6. This is so unfair to couples like us who are both veterans and have served our country. It makes no sense that Princess is not allowing couples who are both veterans and own CCL the benefit of the SOBC. Does anyone have a recommendation or email address of someone at corporate that I could write to let them know how disappointed we are in Princess's lack of support for allowing all veterans's the same opportunity to use their CCL shares. I cannot believe how many little benefits we have lost from Princess in the last year. What is their end game?
  7. This has always amazed me how at all the ports we have boarded a Princess ship they do not use a public address system to tell passengers what the boarding procedure is and how to proceed. Princess reps just start south to the crowd, It just creates confusion and usually a very disorderly boarding experience in what we have witnessed.
  8. It depends on where the cruise is sailing, too. We have noticed on our European and South American cruises many passengers eat much later. Usually it was the two of us and maybe two other couples in Reserve Class the first hour it was open. Most of the Reserve Class staff just had to look busy but there was little for them to do the first hour.
  9. Totally agree. We have always sailed in Club Class when it first started and it was much more affordable. As the price has increased we have decided since our last 21 day Med cruise this summer that it really is just not worth it anymore. Happy to get to MDR early and enjoy the same level of service as Reserved Class as it is called now. The special dishes are always some form of pasta and usually not that earth shaking.
  10. I have tried to be patient with Princess' new call center in the Philippines. Every time I have called I have had to wait from 15 minutes to 45 minutes. It sounds very unprofessional because there is always a lot of back ground chatter with agents talking about all kinds of things besides bookings. I just spent 45 minutes on hold and then got an agent who did not know how to apply a FCD to a new booking. After waiting for them to do it for 20 minutes my call was dropped. Is the new call center with agents with limited skills the only way to deal with Princess now? Am I the only one receiving less than stellar service from the new Princess agents? What happened to the Princess agents who use to know what they were doing and did customer service well? Cannot imagine Princess is going to keep this level of service to help their business grow.
  11. Then they might as well do away with the Captain Circle's program because it will be meaningless.
  12. Sounds like it is going to be an accounting nightmare from some of the few scenarios presented here so far.🤣
  13. But at this point it is just hearsay without proof from Princess?
  14. It really is a form of discrimination because no other group on Princess is having to make this choice except Veterans.
  15. My wife and I both Veterans and stock holders. To us this is an insult and one of the reasons we stayed with Princess was because you could stack the OBC's. They have made so many cheap cuts to our Elite benefits and now the OBC's that it is really time to just start shopping around. New management is definitely going for a cheap All-Inclusive cruise line which Is not for us.
  16. They do all have BBC World News....which is real news!
  17. Us either. We are not going to spend our time being a chair vigilante when it has been our experience that there are always chairs available somewhere else. Live and let live.
  18. The kicker is you will be very very lucky if you can even use the wifi once you pay the absorbent prince. Good luck!
  19. History is riddled with many many great businesses that did not listen to their customers or changed too radically that their customers did not follow. Princess is trying to become a more profitable business but all the up charges are becoming a turnoff and are still no guarantee of economic success with this new model for Princess.
  20. I am pretty sure that Princess has recently started using a call center in Asia.
  21. Thanks for the photo but I want to see ones of the actual dinning rooms of formal nights. Maybe a hundred at the Champagne Waterfall which is often a photo opportunity which some people dress up for.
  22. Well Europe involves a lot of area and many different countries and cultures. It is not monolithic. My family is European and my two brothers dress more casually than I do. I think it may be somewhat true (?) if there are a lot of passengers from GB on the cruise. I wish people would post pictures of the MDR's on formal nights on their cruises so we could see what is being talked about and actually have some factual evidence instead of constant hearsay. We are part of the"elegant night" crowd which will not be wearing tuxes or ball gowns and have never been turned away from a MDR on any cruise.
  23. Our family members like to travel with their own wine and have purchased suitcases that are TSA approved for specifically flying with wine. They usually travel with up to twelve bottles in a suitcase and have always had the suitcase go on the ship as checked baggage. For some reason Princess has never charged them a corkage fee and we have dined with them when it was brought to dining room, usually every night? https://www.amazon.com/VinGardeValise-Bottles-Purpose-Travel-Suitcase/dp/B07GSGC799
  24. Service is far superior in Club Class then the regular main dining room. You are seated immediately or allowed to seat yourself immediately where you like. No waiting in lines. It is always an inviting atmosphere with staff knowing your name and you very well and a Maitre'd is assigned to Club Class too. It seems like you never feel rushed in Club Class and it is easy to eat and go to an event or show on time. Because the wait staff has less passengers to wait on they seem less stressed, hurried and more present then the wait staff in the MDR's. There are always featured dishes that are usually prepared in the Club Class section. Also, breakfast and lunch when served are much more personable then in the general MDR. We have found that usually whatever you request even if not on the menu, Eggs Benedict ie., they will make an effort to accommodate. The locations of the Club Class cabins are in very desirable areas of the ship and there are perks that come with them that are not offered in the regular minis. It is definitely worth the extra cost in our opinion.
