  1. Great one. Very funny. 😹 Of course some will say Princess absolutely says you cannot wear shorts, torn jeans or a baseball cap when you use the new paid for perk.
  2. The Alaska Princess cruises we hav been on the dress in the MDR's has been much more casual then on other Princess cruises. Almost Lumber Jack/Jill chic. I would say leave the very formal attire at home if you are not motivated to dress to the nines. Most people do not on the cruises we have been on.
  3. Also, another factor besides the Fed is what happens if the looming US Debt Ceiling is not met which could send the world financial markets and world economy into turmoil. There is a lot a play that could impact the travel industry.
  4. On all the TA's we have done only once did Princess go to Bermuda and it was for a medical emergency on a crossing.
  5. Elite is 15 cruises or 150 days and we made Elite with less then 15 cruises but qualified days. I do understand what you are saying however.
  6. We got Elite with less then 21 cruises because we took 20 to 30 day cruises and qualified for Elite with days not number of cruises.
  7. Princess is not giving away any more perks to Elites. They are taking them away and then bundling them so people have to pay for them on a daily basis. The good old days of being Elite are really over on Princess.
  8. Can you imagine if they take away free laundry for Elites how crowded and in demand the laundry rooms will be. At least we will have a new topic for a thread on CC - Washing Machine/Dryer Hogs!
  9. We choose Princess for their itineraries and could really care less what others are wearing. What we have viewed on Princess is that it is not as elegant as some like to pretend or gaslight others. Basically, it is a lot of mature people who either have really strange taste or old ill fitting clothes which use to look fairly good 10/15 years ago. People wearing shorts in the dining room is really a very minor foul compared to what is really worn. We have never seen anyone turned away for what they are wearing to the MDR and we have seen some very questionable garb. Fantasize all you want that Princess ships are full of royals going to a gala ball. It just is not true. Princess is way more about many other wonderful things than what people wear on elegant nights.
  10. It really has to do with a number of factors and it probably is not going to go back to pre-Covid levels by most estimates: https://seekingalpha.com/article/4576537-carnival-corporation-no-recovery-upside-left-massive-downside
  11. Who has time to sit around on a vacation and time how long people are using a pool lounge chair and then create an unnecessary conflict. You always see the best and worst of humanity on a cruise ship.
  12. That has been our recent experience post Covid on the Princess ships we have been on too.
  13. It seems there are really no rules on Princess, only the ones passengers make up by taking part of Princess recommendations out of context and making it their own Maritime Law. ie, suggested dress code in MDR on Formal Nights, etc. 😁
  14. This is correct because these are the only ships that have stand alone Concierge Lounges open 24 hours a day to full suite guests. The Concierges have specific hours they are in those lounges each day to assist suite guest.
  15. What we find funny is how upset others on CC get if others do not conform to what their expectations are. We have never really found "chair hogs" to be a problem and usually book the Sanctuary to avoid all the drama. We do get annoyed when we see non-handicapped people in the theater setting in chairs definitely for handicap people or people in wheel chairs/scooters and their attendants.
  16. It is unfortunate that Princess went away from smoke free nights on Formal Nights and also had more smoking restrictions during Covid in their casinos. The old prevailing thought was "banning smoking hurt casino profits" but when Las Vegas banned smoking in their casinos during the height of Covid that was not what new research is showing. https://www.casino.org/news/casino-consultancy-smoking-bans-not-detrimental-to-gaming/
  17. Smokers do not necessarily have more money than non-smokers but because of their addictive personalities they spend more time gambling which is where the casinos make their money - extended play equals casino profits. However, the health costs associated with casino employees being around second hand smoke are a risk factor many casinos, not all, are willing to live with unfortunately. It would be interesting to know what the casino take is in on an Australian Princess cruise, which are non-smoking, versus a regular Princess cruise where smoking is allowed. I would bet it is not that significantly different.
  18. We do not find it worth it and are happy to pay as we go. We do not do all-inclusive vacations either because we do not want to pay for others' drinks and food. I am sure the prices will just keep going up too which frequently happens at many all-inclusive vacation spots.
  19. The balloon knows all - Medallion or no Medallion:
  20. As noted on these boards recently there are many people that are highly disappointed in Princess in a wide variety of ways. You are not alone I believe.
  21. We have been told that auto-gratuities are split fleet wide and just not to that specific ship.
  22. Not in the least. Princess is charging way more for less post Covid and new leadership. They have cutback in many ways and they may not be done for all we know. Obviously the new menus are just a shell of what they use to be. As the ships get larger their international itineraries will be shrinking too.
  23. Princess signed an agreement with Xpotential Fitness featuring Xponential’s Club Pilates, Pure Barre, Yoga Six, CycleBar, Row House, AKT Dance, and StretchLab brands with more offerings to come fleet wide. The classes were supposed to start February 20th, 2023 and there is a cost for the courses unless you have purchased Princess' Premier packages and you get unlimited free classes or 2 free classes with the Plus package. My question is has anyone noticed these classes limiting the amount of time or equipment that passengers who are not paying for or taking the courses can use or access the ship health clubs?
  24. Maybe time to start traveling with a mini coffee maker with an automatic shut-off and just avoid the whole Princess coffee rip-off.
