  1. I can appreciate people have different tolerance levels. I also know PCC are sales people and they will say anything to agree with you to sell you a different cruise. If NCL really believes the noise level in the atrium is the reason why people are not rebooking, they are delusional. If passengers are really using the excuse the noise level of the atrium as a reason why they are not rebooking, they are the type who like to complain for the sake of complaining. Working in hospitality I know the type. Again, I can appreciate the OP frustration. I truly get it. We all have triggers. I'm just not buying its the reason why people are not rebooking as stated by the PCC.
  2. Increased daily fees, decreased services (i.e.once a day, less variety of liquor) and multiple intinery couldn't be the issue? Nope, it's the atrium noise is why people are not repeating.
  3. mine was something similar. I kept doing the math over and over, then realized they were missing the insurance in the total. Did a refresh and our "credit" was gone, but the math added up.
  4. Depending on port, you might have to pay tax on drinks.
  5. question: My passport expired a while ago and we made this booking just a few weeks ago. I expedited the process which said it would be 3-5 weeks. I just hit 3 weeks. We are 28 days out and in Haven. What happens if my passport isn't here in time for check-in? Can I just use my BC (closed loop, so technically I can use a BC), then switch when my passport arrives (assuming it does)? Should I just wait till the passport arrives (but before the 3 day cut off?). I haven't been on a cruise in decades and have no point of reference one how to proceed next week.
  6. Yeah, I've worked at high end places. Lots of hand shakes going on. I doubt the manager of Chili's does though. Concierges in big hotels get a lot of tips. I did when I briefly worked as one in the islands. We typically don't utilize concierge like that, so no tip. We do when warrented. Due to connections at some high end restaurants we do not need a matrie d/manager to get us a "good" table or reservation. So we typically do not tip them either. But would again, if warrented.
  7. Really? I work in the hospitality industry. Concierges, Maitre D's and restaurant managers, all what you would consider supervisory positions, all get tipped all the time.
  8. Check your summary. We pre-paid and it is shown in the summary (and confirmation email).
  9. Yep. It's not very often you see lifeboats being deployed an emergency situation at sea. The general saying is "step up into a life raft" not "step down into a life raft". It's not that literal, but the premise is if the ship is still floating, you are better off staying on the ship as it's an easier vessel to see than a smaller vessel like a life raft.
  10. Things I never knew were saga inducing: $2.00 bill, free bottled water and now having to give up 30 minutes or so of your life going to a muster station. I feel so sheltered not knowing any of the above.
  11. I've been out in San Juan at 1 am and didn't have a problem getting a ride to my hotel. I've flown into a lot of locations around the world that late and never had an issue with getting cabs to where I need to go. Taxi/rideshare drivers are pretty in tune with flight schedules. Especially on an island like PR.
  12. yup. Even the 53 foot catamaran I work on his a safety instruction. Even when I took people on a 26' boat for hire I had to do one.
  13. I use to work on boats in the islands, mostly as crew, but also had a captain's license. I use to have give out these instructions all the time. Sadly have witnessed accidents, those who don't pay attention are the ones who often panic. They might be annoying to others, but it can save people. Once I was involved in a rafting accident. We had a safety instruction before we got into the rafts. Some people flat out ignored the instructions, didn't pay attention, etc. Others, like myself, did pay attention. 2 people were ejected from the raft at the same time. One guy died, one guy lived. The guy who died was part of the group that didn't pay attention. His wife also ignored the instructions and she was completely useless during the rescue effort. (note: the guy who lived was my husband and we left him on a rock while we worked tirelessly trying to save the other guy as he was in panic mode and needed more assistant than my husband) If you can't hear, say something. If you do not understand, ask a question, but even if half the people understand it's worth the exercise.
  14. I noticed the same. I also noticed the Internet package has changed. Today is unlimited for 1 device for $204. 2 Devices $359.92. No option for streaming. Which sucks because last night we found out DH has to do a few Zoom meetings while we are gone. Now we need to call to see what our options are.
  15. I would be a little less than this, but as long as I have my "pace car" (i.e. glass water in between each drink), I would be fine. Except of course for having to using the facilities lot 😛
  16. 🤣 It's a real phobia called Sidongloobphia. Who knew? Well I didn't until 2006, but yeah, I still make fun of him at times. Then I protect him from the big bad cotton balls or q-tips other times.
  17. OMG - My husband has a real phobia about cotton balls. Even q-tips, but he isn't quite as bad. It's for real. I have to hid mine in an area he can't see. Surprise cotton in a medicine bottle? OMG - he is terrified. I wonder if I can pre-request our butler not put them in our cabin. 🤔
  18. We are sailing the first time NCL and have a Haven cabin booked. It's my understanding non-haven guests are only allowed in your cabin. To be honest, I prefer it that way.
  19. RCL have freestyle coke machines on some of their ships, I'm not sure why NCL can't have water dispensers around. They make touchless water dispensers
  20. I agree. I "get" one entrée as they are on average the most expensive course, but is it that big of a deal that someone like my husband wants 2 apps and nothing else?
  21. I rarely order dessert. Heck, I rarely eat 2 courses in general (unless I'm splitting an app with my husband). The exception is a tasting menu and each course is smaller portions. My husband had gastric sleeve surgery and can't physically eat a lot at one sitting either. He is good with one app or a shared app with me and half an entrée. We are not ones to order a bunch of course just because it's part of the package. Which confuses staff, they are always saying "are you sure? It comes with [blah, blah]". "Yes, I'm sure I don't want that much food!" We both have sweet tooths a few hours after dinner. I'm disappointed that we would not be able to take a dessert back. Not the end of the world, but bummed. Although, we are Haven, so I guess we can eat the afternoon snacks as late night snack.
  22. I feel like that is a pretty lame excuse. Major hotels do amenities and deal with room changes all the time. Most likely even more changes than on a ship. When a room change was made room service (who delivered the amenity) was informed. They should be able to get an updated list to compare on the sail date (even if it's after they set sail) before an amenity is delivered (even if they are pre-made). There might be a delay, but it should get to the correct person eventually.
