  1. In my experience, spring break is very crowded (only sailed Carnival and Royal for that), and lends itself to a lot of rowdy behavior. And I think your time reference is correct. Our public school spring break is the week of March 11th.
  2. Hope you like the Mardi Gras as much as we did. Be sure to try Emeril’s, Street Eats, and Shaq’s Big Chicken. And don’t forget daily gelatos at lunch in the buffet area. We loved Bar Della Rosa and getting our morning cappuccino fix there.
  3. How was the crossing? We loved it on the Miracle.
  4. You have to order it from a roaming server. If they are not around, you can walk up to bar, find a server (not a bartender) and order it there. They will bring it to you. Nothing on your card, but once they enter your folio number, the server knows it is free.
  5. Sid, thanks for the entertaining review. All the best to you.
  6. Sid, Enjoy your day in St. Thomas. Let me know if you want some self-publishing tips. My DH has three books published and is working on the fourth.
  7. How about 10:30? I don’t get the appeal of sitting around for over hour when you could accomplish the same thing by arriving at your check in time.
  8. It’s only on the Excel class. A private area above Serenity reserved for those sailing in an Excel suite or booking a cabana. A cabana is a lovely way to go, with bar service, bottle of champagne and fresh fruit everyday, and lunch brought to your cabana.
  9. We have gotten Loft 19 for as low as $1750 plus gratuity. But our NYE has sold out at $2000 per week. So some people still find the value there.
  10. I would give the Bahamas a try if I had never been there. Nassau has some fine shopping, lovely beaches, two really nIce casinos, along with water parks. Bimini is so laid back and fun. For those of us who been 20 times or more, it is not that exciting. But if you have ever been, it is worth exploring. I love the Queen’s staircase, shopping at John Bull, and checking out the yachts at Atlantis. Even the sail in is very pretty with the lighthouse and a view of Atlantis. And the port renovation was very well done. So if you are open minded and want to try somewhere different, the Bahamas has a lot to offer. Many of us frequent cruisers are suffering from the been there, done that syndrome.
  11. I would either make sure my travel insurance would cover the cost, or just tour Aruba. It’s a beautiful island, and very diverse.
  12. Hoo to see you in the ship. It is getting close. i expect the casino to be busy, as this is an Elite cruise.
  13. Yes, you can pick. Some select First Available if they are in a hurry.
  14. Glad your new cabin is nearby. Hope the B2B process goes smoothly this morning.
  15. Glad the D and P party went well! We had a similar dining experience on the Celebration. On New Year’s Day, we waited s long time for a table at Cuchina. Finally got a table at 9:15 or so. We were ignored for 30 minutes. Finally just got up and left. Our phone rang at 9:30 the next morning, wanted to know what happened. I explained and he apologized and had the same table reserved for us that night at 7. Great service that night, and the manager called again the next day to make sure we were happy. I hope they follow up with you and make this right.
  16. it could be I am tired of paying the daily rate and tipping extra. My choice whether I continue to do both or opt out of one or the other. There is no right answer, other than the cruise lines making tips mandatory or adding them to the base rate. If Carnival won’t make the hard choice, that leaves it up to me.
