  1. @D&N Do tell me the JFK story please.
  2. Amazing photos @Solent Richard. Thanks for sharing them with us.
  3. Private car is booked through Cunard, but we’re going to having luggage forward. Love the tip of grabbing a porter. How will the luggage forward work in this scenario?
  4. My bad. The issue is in Skagway - you are correct @bluemarble
  5. This is what I have used in the past, and only at really nice restaurants. I agree with @Jack E Dawson, the fish knife in his picture looks more like a long handled butter knife. You need the added width to avoid breaking the fish.
  6. @lissie Been thinking about you! How was your time in San Fran? Looking forward to reading your review. Hoping all is well for you.
  7. @DancingShoes Are you Ok? Do you still need help? If so, include me in a response and I’ll log in and help. I finished ours today without issues. You are embarking from Vancouver correct? Find the address using the port finder on the app.
  8. 😞 I miss our wonderful cats. I can’t say goodbye to another one so we will enjoy the neighbor cats who travel across our deck and study our bird feeders. You all have beautiful cats and I wish I could reach out rub their chins.
  9. @ronpes Filled out Arrivcan as far as possible this morning. It can”t be completed until 3 days before boarding. I sail the 19th and will try to remember to post.
  10. @Bell Boy I live 5 minutes from the pier and hear the ships every day. I think they have 2 ships out of Seattle, but almost all the other ships are much larger. I think there are 19 - 21 boats per week. I hear that Princess owns Alaska cruising. I have found Alaska dress to be less formal. You Must take a good warm coat and rain gear. I always need a blanket on the verandah for sea days and while in the bays with glaciers.
  11. @bluemarble That was really bad and you were correct it is 3/4 meter. It reminds me. of music my grandparents listened to, in fact I think they had some of his records. I wonder if he was on Lawrence Welk? Please, no more.
  12. Oh my what a tale. It would make for good conversation in a middle school class of children. Who is at fault for Albert being eaten? What was the author’s intent?…and on and on.
  13. @Host Hattie Counting on you to scope this out in September.
  14. Why must we shorten our language so we have to question the meaning? The ad slogan how do you…is interesting for a conversation starter however. Perhaps while sitting in the Commodore Club with a glass of port? How do you V&A? How do you Smithsonian?
  15. @sandancer 3.5 hours? That sounds horrible. Good luck.
  16. @frankp01 I have not heard the term “How do you museum.” Clue me in.
  17. @bluemarble Thanks for your post. I had looked ALL over for the ability to pay on-line, and just couldn’t imagine that it wasn’t possible. Good to know and good to have the speaker function on my phone so I don’t have to sit with my phone to my ear for 2 hours!
  18. Gotta ask another dumb question —- where on the U.S. site is the place to pay your final bill?
  19. I put the fancier black dress away and kept 2. I have beautiful scarves/wraps to switch in and out. Even though I live 5 minutes from the pier I’m trying to limit luggage. One pair of black sandals will do fine. Alaska is not formal at all. I checked the weather forecast and it is going to rain every day and not get above 70F. Enjoy your cruise!
  20. In the U.S. the potato of choice is the Russet. I would say reconstituted fries are found in the grocery freezer aisle. Washington state produces the most potatoes in the U.S. There was an article in the paper this morning from a local fast food chain apologizing for the current fries they are serving. It appears there is a shortage of fresh potatoes due to a problem with the seed potatoes planted earlier in the year. New potatoes are being dug now and will reach Seattle in the next week and crispy fries will return. Hello, IThe Seattle Times' article, "Dick’s Drive-In switches up its You can read the full article here: https://www.seattletimes.com/business/dicks-drive-in-switches-up-its-fries-amid-wa-potato-shortage/?utm_source=email&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=article_inset_1.1
  21. @JLMcruise Congrats! May I ask how much you bid? If not, just don’t reply, its rude of me to ask, but I bid a lot of $$$ and I’m waiting for the accepted sign to appear.
  22. Our due date is coming up soon, received the email yesterday. There isn’t a phone number to call to pay with a credit card…
