I have seriously thought about asking to rent your vacations house. If I saw @Lanky Lad on the street I would recognize him, if he looks like his picture :), and start a conversation. Newbie to Celebrity questions regarding gambling: 1 - I assume I can’t play with cash. 2 - I think I read you have to use a credit card and it is billed as a cash advance. That’s bad because it generates fees/transaction charge. 3 - Can I use a debit card to avoid the fees? 4 - Is the casino connected to any of the Vegas casinos? Many thanks and congrats on getting free cruises. I guess it isn’t that different from free rooms in Vegas!

I ran into the problem of lack of excursion availability for Alaska sailing in 3 weeks. I went to Trip Advisor and found what I needed and saw many that were identical to what Celebrity offered. Some were sold out, but the one I needed was not.

I wasn’t given a choice when I bid. It just said Sky Suite.

When you bid on a Sky Suite is it limited to cabins listed as Sky Suite as well as Sunset Sky Suite?

We carry one with us. It is hand held and you hang the case from a hook on it. Purchased it at a Staples store. DH is in charge of this because if we are weighing it then it is too heavy for me!

@Bigmike911 Yes you have sent us your blasting heat. Please take some of it back. We like 80 degrees. We saw 92 on the thermometer connected to our air-conditioner. It was actually lovely eating on our deck last night without having to put on a shawl.

I’ve been to Sitka twice and love the walk through the totem poles. But, I was looking forward to a new port and worked really hard to get an excursion in Skagway at the last minute, as in yesterday, a 9 year old would enjoy and wouldn’t cause me bodily damage! I always love a day at sea and have never been to Icy Strait Point. I guess I’ll go where the ship takes me. 🙂

@Fly and Sail Thanks so much for this post. We sail to Alaska on Aug. 19 and Skagway is day 5. I hope you’ll post updates if you hear more.

@escrick I understand 100% where you’re coming from. I started following the Cunard thread last summer after we booked a Cunard cruise. I almost cancelled it due to some of the comments posted regarding the dress code. I was actually guilty of not being nice to one of them…the thread was closed by our beloved @Host Hattie. It is the single most divisive subject on this forum. It decided I would wear what I want to wear on our first cruise this December. @Victoria2 and @lissie is always two of the sane people in the discussion. Listen to their advice.

@exlondoner Oh No! I hope you are not feeling horrible, that room service is good and the food still tastes good. Which ports are you missing while in confinement?

I just pulled the number off the website I think. I chose excursions because that was the original purpose of my call.

@Sascol I am diabetic and cannot possibly have dinner at 8:30pm. I called Celebrity the after I booked (this weekend) and it was changed to anytime dining without a problem. I hope it is as easy once we board.

@6fan I called Celebrity and they changed us from late dining to anytime dining. Super easy.

@Jim_Iain Please excuse a stupid question from a first timer — when you see the bid, is that for the whole cruise or per night? Thanks in advance.

@itsanita Hello again! Were you able to make the dinner reservations prior to cruising or did you need to do it once onboard?
