  1. I think the percentage the signed the petition was higher. Some were probably unaware of it. The refund the offered was about 60% of the cruise fare. The real cost of the cruise for say a PH b was 12000 PP for the 14 nights plus the 7000 for air so 19000. If they were refunded 60% of the 12000 it is 7200. They ended up paying 4800 plus the 7000 air or 11800 (63% of the total cost) still a chunk of change to miss the key ports. If it were in a lower cost cabin the refunded percent of the total would be less due to the air. There is where people are having the beef. That said I agree about the comments compared to our first post covid regent cruise, though I did think the steaks were prime and a bit better than in compass rose but the A5 option would be nice. The Veal Milanese (aka wiener schnitzel) in Seti was done to perfection. Entertainment is better but I think they are missing the music many people like to hear. We have three sea days now due to missed port Moresby and 3 afternoons of scavenger hunts, games, needle point and Q&A sessions just isn't exciting. By cancelling they port regent saved some 70-100K in included excursions they didn't have to payout so put on an afternoon pool party with some Aussie theme (bee gees, AC/DC, and other Aussie groups) or add a afternoon show to the theater.
  2. So, on one of the minibuses in Papua New Guinea (and they warned us they had little leg room and no A/C a lady was very vocal that she wanted to go back to the ship 30 minutes into the excursion... and the guide turned the bus around and went back. Unbelievable to me that some entitled passenger ruined the excursion for everyone. Granted we were told to be in the theater at 715 and the tour provided then called and said they had to fuel the vans and the gas stations don't open until 8. This was an 8 hour tour and the ship was to sail at 4pm. Welcome to the third world of excellent planning. Long story short we go to the meeting point for the snorkel and cave tour and were told the weather was too bad to do it. They knew this before but turned out to be a "3-hour tour" of driving in an uncomfortable van. So maybe the lady had a vision! Regent cancelled the next port: Port Moresby to unsafe conditions - apparently, they were warned of violence and civil issue by state department. I get it, but now we have 3 sea days in a row before Darwin. The explorer saga continues.
  3. my minibar has been filled with Diet coke and they also have coke zero.
  4. Just got our flights back from regent DFW to TLV we requested American via JFK and they offered us AF DFW/CDG/TLV which arrives earlier but has a tight 110 min connection - I assume since we are transiting and not going into EU that should be sufficient time to connect. Not so sure about the luggage but we will carry a couple bags on in case. The return from Milan they gave us requested flights on BA/AA.
  5. Agree with the TP holder the rolls like to fly off when you tear! Same staff - They are excellent.
  6. On explorer lovely sea day sailing the coral sea. Chair hogs are out stuff put on loungers at 630 am. The Cruise Director just announced on the noon message that pool staff will remove items sitting on chairs for a long time. Glad they are enforcing this.
  7. Explorer PH723 after 24 days and still going but I don't see anything changing. explorer723 suite review.xlsx
  8. Regent told passengers the problem was fixed pre-cruise! Right there they we wrong and should have offered passengers the option to board or not to with full refund. In addition to only making 4 ports on the itinerary plus Melbourne. Cruises are supposed to be stress free and relaxing. This was not as we didn't know what was happening from one day to the next and left in limbo. First world problems but also with a first would price. That alone was not in line with "The Regent Experience."
  9. we also missed a port due to tendering in high waves and wind - I get that and you go with the flow, another port was changed due to holidays in Belfast - they added another day in Killybegs - not the best choice would have rather had Dublin overnight. But neither was a deal breaker - missing all these ports in NZ and Australia was. a complete bust and regent should step up., like they did the last cruise. At a minimum they should offer the balance of the 100% as a FCC.
  10. FORGOT another missed port Tasmania - We lost ocean road (geelong), Tasmania, bay of islands, Napier and the sounds, All some of the most scenic ports. And total agree Gisborne and Timaru were a joke! I am very angry about tasmania and geelong. This was a total bust and should have been refunded 100% considering the airfare $7000 people wasted to see 4 ports.
  11. told we will be doing full muster in sydney even though we are B2B
  12. And so, I with at least 40 others waited in line for 49 minutes. When I finally reached the destinations desk. They said they haven't been able to print the Darwin tours and some of the Cairns tours as they are confirming times. Regent why not simply put in a note in everyone's package stating that??? But no, they would rather you stress the night before and then wait for an hour to resolve. I must say the Destination desk reps could have save themselves a lot of work and aggravation had they simply taking the time to insert that note.
  13. Just got my excursion tickets for next leg of course they are missing a couple even though I have confirmation on my receipts. Go destinations services! If they can't do the shore excursions correctly - just lower the price and I'll book myself. What else can get screwed up on this cruise! AND yes, they will probably correct in tomorrow after I waste and hour in line of my vacation correcting it with them.
  14. Not much about NZ impressed me especially their officials.
  15. 25% refund in addition to the 500 OBC and 30%FCC.
  16. Missing another port arrive in Melbourne at 5 pm vs 9am. Staying there overnight and skipping the geelong port another highlight. So we have missed bay of islands, Napier, Tasmania geelong and the fjords that’s 5 missed and made only 4 of the planned ports. Regent should just refund or offer 60% FCC. I feel bad for those departing in Sydney as this has been a bust. I guess they had too aggressive time scheduled and probably should have built an extra sea day in as they have the stabilizers out due to the swales in the Tasman sea and could not make up the biofouling time lost. I’m sure the “new digital survey” isn’t going to be a pretty read in Miami.
  17. Based on the comments from tour guides and other locals the NZ govt has made many foolish policies that have been very short sighted and caused huge problems (e.g. the egg shortage) But I do think regent botched the importance of some of the ports and fjords missing and the substitute ports were and most like will be a bust art gallery’s and botanic gardens are not what I came to NZ to see!
  18. I agree Timaru is a waste of time would rather just get back on schedule with Christchurch and Dunedin but they may have had issues pushing Dunedin out a day. We will arrive to Melbourne at 11 instead of 8 am. Regent has offered an FCC of 30% of the cruise only fare.
  19. After a nice day in Wellington we will proceed to Christchurch then timaru with some limited excursions. Then to Dunedin and we skip the fjords and then skip but also skip Tasmania . I get NZ not allowing the ship in the fjords beyond regent control stupid but that is on NZ , However no explanation given why we miss Tasmania !!! That was a big unique port and instead we got timaru. That is on regent and they didn’t not handle this well imop. I have to evaluate if I want to cancel my 90 days of cruising with them in 23/24😡
