  1. Just how big was the wedding onboard, that you didn’t notice extra people until the photos came back?
  2. Last week, my granddaughter was in an over chlorinated pool, and her blond hair turned green. It is back to blond now.
  3. We are on Voyager, October 16 sailing. It is a little later than I would like, but that was the week that would work for us. We had planned to drive to Boston, but got some cheap SW flights and free hotel rooms, so we decided to fly.
  4. Thank you all for the information. I downloaded some port guides to read through (Tom’s Port Guides). Since we love to walk, we may be walking about the port areas to anything within 3-5 miles, depending on our time in port.
  5. We have our first NE cruise coming up in October, leaving from Boston. It will be something different for us, and will be a nice getaway after our summer with the grandkids. We have stops in Bar Harbor and Portland, Maine, plus St John, NB and Halifax, NS. The only thing I have booked so far is Acadia National Park when we are in Bar Harbor. I have read about Peggy’s cove in Halifax, and may book an excursion there. For anyone who has been to these ports, any recommendations? I usually have time to research, but it seems my free time is limited this summer.
  6. Currently, if you are sailing with a stop in France, they do require your booster to have been received less than 270 days ago. I do think you can do onboard testing, for a fee, to get off the ship. That is why I am waiting till fall before we get booster #2, And who knows what it will be by the time we go there next May. But yes, there is a lot of misinformation out there on most everything.
  7. Afternoon was a perfect day on the lake with our grandkids. First up, call some geese over to feed There were quite a few Then time for some tube fun It is a tight squeeze with two in the tube. All the kids are getting to that age where they want a faster ride.
  8. Now, today, we have already been to the library to pick up more books. Grandson is enrolled in a summer reading program, and he is reading 5-7 books a week. I always say it is good to cultivate their reading early. Did a 3k walk in the park, and now the boat is hitched up to spend an afternoon on the lake.
  9. After our morning learning about pigs yesterday, we went on a hike. I really have to figure out why I am losing some detail in a picture like this The kids studied where some turtle eggs had once been. They did manage to see a couple good size snapping turtles, but the water was too cloudy for a picture. Sometimes you need to walk the plank to find them. Then the hike back for a trip to have some Japanese hibachi for supper.
  10. Yesterday, I had to do a little tree trimming before we could leave for our daily adventure. This was from my neighbor’s yard. Took the grandkids to learn about pigs yesterday. Farmer Steve told everyone about raising pigs. He told them these pigs were five months old, and the kids could name them. Of course our crew gave them names like Bacon, and Pork Chop. (They might have had some help with name suggestions 😏) Granddaughter showed off her tractor driving skills And at the end, they had the wolf chasing the three pigs in a race. Three of these four belong to me, and the fourth is a friend of my Pennsylvania grandson.
  11. I have been crazy, busy the last few days. We did have some good times with the grandkids over the 4th of July. They did have some fun before the fireworks show. They started with some battles using glow sticks, then my one grandson pulled out the lightsaber. IMG_4861.MOV In the meantime, they have been keeping a countdown until their trip with us.
  12. I guess we are very fortunate to have the guy that we use to do remodeling work. He works by himself, doesn’t take breaks, and does “perfectionist” work. If he was going to be late because he would be picking up materials, he would call and let us know. Our guy did a bathroom remodel just before our May cruise on Allure. When we were ready to leave for the cruise, he had one more day to complete the finish trim. He said he could come back when we returned, but we gave him a door opener and told him to just come in and finish while we were gone. Anyone else, we would not have done that with. Now our only problem is getting a final bill from him. He keeps saying he has been really busy and will get around to it.
  13. G R E E N W O O D it also blocked the city by that name in SC. I think they use the Urban dictionary to see which words to block.
  14. I know this is not necessarily the kind of collector bottle that Greg was talking about. But, when I go for my yearly check up, and they ask about guns in the house, I am never sure if I should include this one! So I just say I have several, and I know how to use them.
  15. Well said! The one time I felt the need to contact Royal after a cruise, was after things kept going horribly wrong on a cruise. My purpose was to detail the problem so they could review what happened, and make changes so no one would have to experience the same thing. I would encourage Dani to at least make sure they are aware of the wire issue. If it is not getting up to the people who need to know, they may never change, and others may face the same issue.
  16. I hope everyone has a safe, and enjoyable 4th of July. From our trip to Waldameer, this statue is appropriate. I think I may have posted this before. It is a video I did of a fireworks show with the grandkids a few years ago, set to Lee *****’s song. Edit to add—- I guess CC bans his last name too. 🤣🤣. Just like the city.
  17. I was thinking, we are talking about chairs, and what chairs have steering wheels on them? Then I remembered!
  18. Dani, so sorry to hear about your experiences on Beyond. What happened is so unlike Celebrity, and you should make your experiences known to the CEO. How they addressed the wire is unacceptable, and I can’t believe they would still be using wire brushes to clean a grill. The problem with wires coming loose and sticking to the grill and transferring to food is well known. I haven’t used wire brushes on my grill for at least 20 years, because of that exact problem. I do not know if it is a sign of the times that they don’t want to upset the staff that they have, because they are short staffed, or what. I think that not only Celebrity, but Royal and the other lines need to address food and staffing now that they are trying to stay near 100% capacity. Otherwise, they may find their customers looking elsewhere.
  19. It is a good thing you posted pictures of food with your posts about 5-way and 4-way’s. My mind was still back on what @John&LaLa posted about a 3-way that caused the Carnival fight. 😏
  20. Yesterday was our beach day at Presque Isle in Erie. The beaches were not as busy as I thought they would be for a Friday before the holiday weekend. We did manage a small Sand sculpture Although I found a way to repurpose Lime and Coconut drink buckets as sand buckets, I would have rather had the drinks in them. We did have to stop at Hank’s custard stand on the way home. The white van was filled with Amish, as their driver stopped with them, after their day of work. You can still see one in line, although he must have left his hat in the van. Their clothing is pretty distinctive. All in all, it was another great day, and we managed to miss the rain.
