  1. There's no catch that I know of. You can always book a cabin now and then get it repriced later on if you see a better deal. I think you'll need to pay whatever deposit is applicable at that time. A refare switches you over to whatever deals apply at that time.
  2. We haven't stayed in a cabin in that location on the Discovery, but we did on another ship. The only time we really heard any noise was the sailaway party. Other than that, no problems.
  3. You just need to run the math for your individual situation. We don't drink, we don't want any more photos of us on or around a ship, we share on half-price internet package, and it's doubtful we'd want the gifts. So, obviously not worth it to us. But it might be to you. Do the math, leaving out any notion of "gifts" and that ought to give you a better handle on it.
  4. If you mean the mini bar setup, it for sure is worth something to us! We're non-drinkers, so we don't buy plus or premier. The mini bar setup gets us two coffee packages, and that's a really nice benefit for us.
  5. I was on the Carnival Jubilee in 1991, and that's what they did for that eclipse. We had a wonderful viewing out at sea.
  6. That's my understanding.
  7. Company websites many times lag way behind reality. Whoever provided the updated deckplans to Cruise Deckplans probably also provided them to the website team. Probably the website will get updated eventually, and probably things will change a lot in what we're seeing on Cruise Deckplans. Probably.
  8. I'm not sure I like that either. Also, there's a lot of outdoor dining for the buffet, and drag decks shows that to be uncovered. I'm wondering about that. Sea day with lots of wind? Hold onto your plate! I imagine there's a lot of indoor dining as well.
  9. As far as I know, the Medallion Class app replaced all the others. Everything's in that.
  10. I don't know why they don't show "old out" for the cc minis. I agree that it would be better if they did.
  11. I think we had less movement in M107, Alaska, than on the Royal M108, Mexico. Heading north for the last day from Mexico has usually been motion-filled in our experience. We got next to no movement on the recent Alaska cruise. Yes, maybe we'll sail together again. 😃
  12. We had M107, so the balcony was enormous. The two M6 minis on Marina extend out over the bridge and are large on the forward side. Partly covered.
  13. Given that we were just in a club class mini on the Discovery, I can assure you that it's like others have said. There definitely are cc minis, but they sell out quickly on a lot of sailings. The cc minis are specific cabins, and once they're gone, they're gone unless somebody cancels.
  14. We like as far forward and as high up in the ship as we can get. It's a lot farther to go to get to things, but that's fine with us.
  15. I like the Ruby. We sailed on her in the fall last year and again in April of this year. She's a great ship.
  16. It's pretty annoying that the discount isn't working in the app anymore. I was able to purchase through the app at the discounted price for our last cruise, but I'm not seeing that now either. I plan to hold off, since we're still some months out from the next cruise. I hope you can get yours sorted out.
  17. What day of the week are you debarking on? I doubt I would do that early flight would be safe on any day of the week, but weekdays would definitely be iffy.
  18. We were in M107 on the Discovery a few weeks back, and I spent a lot of time out on the balcony while we were at sea. I had to check around to find the sweet spot out of the wind, but I was always able to find one.
  19. I wouldn't be too happy with that cabin. Don't mind the people looking down on my balcony, but you're way far back from the water in that one.
  20. I keep telling myself to stop talking about these cabins! Since there're only four of them, it's hard enough as it is to get one. 😂
  21. I think we're the odd ones in that we don't care about privacy on a balcony. And we love the fact that the balcony on the Marina deck M6 cabins goes out over the bridge.
  22. They have probably changed their stance on higher/lower deck since the "upgraded" us many years ago. They moved us from a lower deck oceanview with no obstructions or issues to a side aft cabin on Aloha deck with mondo noise early am from outside area of the buffet and with a window washer parked permanently outside our window. We complained, and they told us that was an upgrade because it was on a higher deck.
  23. Oh my gosh, I'd surely hate that being announced when I entered the dining room!
  24. Your sliding glass patio door looks out to the side of the ship. We favor these M6 cabins over any others because the floorplan works best for us. My hubby gets up way too early in the morning, and in one of these he has access to the living area, the bathroom, and the deck outside without disturbing me.
