  1. So, you pay for nothing above your first two free dinners with your credit card, if you book ahead of time and your OBC, if you book while onboard. You will be the one to do determine which ones you want for free. BTW, the Catch is phenomenal! PS, if you book online via the dining credits, if you cancel one, you may wish to wait two days before your dining credits show back up before booking the more expensive restaurant.
  2. Aft, all the way! For some reason, that class of ships put their suites right under the pool deck. What a huge mistake unless one can sleep through anything both late at night and early in the morning!
  3. It will really depend on the itinerary and how long it is. I’ve not seen many children cruising in October. I’ve not even heard of a fall break as far as the school year goes. It looks like it will be a fabulous ship for all ages but summertime would be a better time if they are looking to enjoy soe. activities with kids their own age.
  4. Be sure to take a complete list of medications as some are contraindicated while taking Paxlovid. I read that late in 2023 Pfizer has set the price of Paxlovid at nearly $1400 for a five day course.
  5. I’m usually a very optimistic but I think there may be at least one more canceled sailing before all is all said and done. However, Princess does seem to get all their bad news out at one time so, trickling it out in 2 week intervals doesn’t fit their pattern very well.
  6. From the Discovery Princess Alfredo’s rollata and pizza From the GastroPub .. mushrooms with scotch egg and calamari From the sushi bar .. edamame, California roll and vegetable roll made spicy
  7. While I am empathetic to all of those whose plans were canceled on such short notice, I’m sure we would all rather sail on a ship that passes all their inspections with flying colors. I know I would.
  8. The problem comes into play because you aren’t officially granted your cruise credits or your cruise days in the system until AFTER the entire trip is completed. But never fear, if you go to the loyalty desk or the future cruise sales office, just ask to speak to the person in charge of loyalty. I can almost assure you they will take care of it while you are onboard. We got into a MTP luncheon once because the extra days of our first leg of our B2B didn’t count in the system. But, she fixed it for us so they did! Yay! I just wouldn’t waste any more of your time or frustration on trying to fix it ahead of time. Oooops! Just saw your update so you can disregard! congrats
  9. I don’t ever recall seeing Brunello on the wine list and some wines are only sold by the bottle, even with the premier package.
  10. So, the ultimate balcony dinner is a bit more than their specialty restaurants but they bring all the goodies to you, including setting up a table for you. I believe the current cost is $110 per couple. For a big savings, you can order room service for no charge with the Plus Package. There are several items on the room service menu you can order that will incur a charge but most of the typical lunch type menus are free of charge. There are steaks offered for $19 each, sushi for $12 a roll, a whole pizza for $8.50 - $12 each, a cheese plate, crudities or other appetizer plates will run between $4 - $8 each. As for the free items, they have hot and cold food such as hamburgers, chicken breast sandwiches, tuna or chicken salad sandwiches, chicken fingers, garden burgers, quesadillas, chicken noodle soup, chili, fries, a few different types of green salads, fruit plates, etc. You can also order your cocktails, soft drinks, beer and wine via room service but they are basic choices. Anyway, it’s nice to order for breakfast or even lunch but you won’t get a ‘real dining experience’ from the food that they offer. The tables on the balconies are rather small, unless you have a larger balcony. If you only have a basic balcony room, there is only the one desk chair inside the cabin. Personally, I like ordering a pizza and a couple salads for dinner to enjoy a movie in the cabin but only when we get a mini suite, as it has some place to sit. whatever you decide, enjoy!
  11. Uncovered balcony Pros: Unobstructed view of the stars and sky Uncovered balcony cons: rough waters may mean you have unwanted ‘stuff’ on your balcony from above in case of rain, you really can’t enjoy your balcony
  12. Being in a suite will indeed get you priority tendering. You will also be able to choose whatever disembarkation time you would like. They should have a special area for you to meet before you disembark, if you choose a later time
  13. I really miss the chicken Korma for that first sea day lunch. However, we do like the small plates offered at lunch time and found some really good Indian food in the buffet on the Royal last time we cruised on her.
  14. How terribly disappointing for those passengers booked on her. Carolyn, Thanks for always keeping us updated.
  15. Good to know … certainly not us, either!
  16. Last year, and things could certainly have changed by now, we were able to book a cruise for some friends and pay for their FCD with our credit card. The key was, it had to be put onto an actual booking.
  17. We always go to the FC office to see what specials they may be running. Last year, they had a list of 50% off specific sailings, so I booked a number of them. We were onboard a couple of weeks ago and they had some sailings that were 25% - 30% off. I looked at the list and nothing appealed to me. It was rather odd that they weren’t advertising that list of discounted sailings as they were with the 50% off sale. You aren’t able to use a FCD with the list of sailings and they aren’t combinable with any other promo. If you have CCL stock or military OBC, you could still apply for those. When you book a cruise onboard, you usually just get the same price as what is listed on the Princess website. It will automatically be assigned to whomever booked your current cruise. If you use a travel agency, they would receive your booking and add any agency perks there may be.
  18. Oh, you’ve piqued my interest .. now I have to go do my research. It may deter me from trying that line as we live a pretty conservative lifestyle. Even Celebrity hosts Bliss cruises, which had to be explained to me. Imagine booking that without knowing what you’d be getting yourself into.
  19. Totally off the topic but since you’ve found a solution, I just wanted to note that your comment really made me smile. I moved to the South from the west coast several months a long time ago. Someone asked me, “when did y’all get here?”. The answer was obvious it was just a couple of days when I said, “oh no, I came down by myself”.
  20. You can sign up for Princess Prizes outside of having the package.
  21. All your tips, aside from the spa, excursions, things like that are included in either package. If you purchase a drink over the limit of your package, you will automatically be charged the extra gratuity on your folio and local taxes if you are in a port where that applies. At your discretion, you may tip more with cash but, by all means, the gratuities are covered and anything extra is not mandatory and probably not even expected.
  22. We have been on many Royal class ships, even midship on the side with the Skywalk. The view to the stars may be hampered but the further down your cabin is, the less obstruction you will have. Deck 15 has a huge overhang .. on both port and starboard sides. i can assure you, there aren’t many people on the skywalk. People will go once or twice but it’s a novelty to see if they can do it. They are usually just trying to get to the other side quickly. I have yet to see anyone peering down onto the balconies below. Plus, the plexiglass is pretty thick so it somewhat obscures the images below. On the grand class ships, people can see a lot more of what is happening on the Caribe and Dolphin deck balconies below than what they will see from the Skywalk on the Royal class ships.
  23. Only at the time of the payment. You mark it on your Amex account beforehand and then make a payment with your Amex card.
