  1. Why not? Hey, you're on vacation!!!!!!! Elvis
  2. DH is 43 and an NYPD officer Glad to see you're in the family! I did 37 years on Nassau County PD. (But he's a "real" cop) Enjoy your cruise!!! Elvis
  3. This past February I took a Celebrity cruise. When I figured out my casino winnings I was up $.25! Never getting rich that way!!! Elvis
  4. Back in the days when you could smoke on your balcony I used to always end the night out there with a cigar and cognac. I always take my binoculars with me on a cruise. One night I went out on my balcony and noticed another cruise ship not far from us. I grabbed my binoculars and looked at all the balconies on her. What did I see? There was another guy out on his balcony looking through binoculars at our ship!!!! I waved at him but apparently he didn't notice me! Elvis
  5. I neglected to mention the dessert we had in Le Bistro. Ever since I saw Spencer Tracy and Katherine Hepburn have it in "Desk Set" I wanted to try Floating Island or Ile Flontante as they call it. It was great! Worthy of two screen legends! Elvis
  6. We were on Breakaway in March, 2022. I made it my mission to see who has the best prime rib on the ship. (I'm a prime rib fanatic!) I have to say that after careful consideration I have to give this one to The Haven Restaurant with Cagney's a close second! We're on Escape in September so I may have to test them all again! I mean it's the only fair thing to do! Elvis
  7. In my opinion, and this i just my opinion, there is only one drink that should be called a martini! The only variation should be whether you want gin or vodka! Anything else should go by a different name! Elvis
  8. Just tip the bartender and he or she will make anything you want, any way you want it made! They are very accommodating. Word of advice: if you want something other than a martini, don't go to the martini bar! Elvis
  9. A 1/2 oz was $80. And if you take the last drink from the bottle you get to keep the bottle! That can be sent back to the Remy Martin factory and refilled at a substantial discount. When I had my drink there were about 6 pours left in the bottle. It was good, but not that good! Elvis 105 days until my next taste!
  10. No, it wasn't covered! But what the hell! If the wife says go for it, who am I to question her logic? She did pick me! Elvis
  11. Going on Escape in September and I intend to try everything! We were on Breakaway in March of 2022. While sitting in the Haven Bar I noticed the bottle of Louis XIII cognac on display. I mentioned to my wife that just once in my life I'd like to sample that, just to see what makes it so good. Her reply to me, "Why not tonight?" Never in my life had I loved her more! It was served to me by the white gloved bartender. It was in a crystal glass on a silver tray. The presentation alone was worth the cost of the cognac! Sergio, the bartender, talked me through sipping and savoring what turned out to be the nectar of the gods! It was a religious experience! I'm getting off the track here! I've recently been introduced to the fine taste of bourbon! I intend, before this cruise is over, to find my favorite, my brand! Between the Haven Bar and Tobacco Road I should have no problem! Elvis
  12. I've recently developed a taste for bourbon. Until then martinis were my drink of choice. On my next cruise in September, I'll be in the Haven. In the Haven Lounge they make a "smoked old fashioned". I intend to give that a try! I'll still drink my martinis, but I'm going to try new things! Elvis
  13. I spent 37 years as a police officer. The last 17 years were spent taking people's complaints over the phone. What I learned is that a lot of people are not happy unless they're complaining about something! Most of the time things are not really as bad as they make it seem. I've been on close to 20 cruises. I always read the reviews of my cruises. Sometimes I find it hard to believe that the person writing the review and I were on the same cruise! Elvis
  14. Dude, I didn't try to insult you! I was making a joke! Lighten up and have a cigar! Elvis
  15. Cigars on the ship are highly over-priced and in, my experience, not stored properly. They tend to be on the dry side. You are much better off by getting a travel humidor and taking a few of your own sticks. For a weeklong cruise I would suggest about 30 to 40 cigars, unless you're a heavy smoker, then I would bring 50! Elvis
  16. If you call your butler to bring you a drink in the cigar lounge you have to be the laziest person alive! There's a bar right there! Elvis
  17. The cigar lounge on Breakaway is very nice! There's a good ventilation system and a bar right there to get drinks if the waiter doesn't come in to take your order. I spent many happy hours in there! Elvis
  18. Go for the hot stone massage! Priscilla and I always do one at the beginning of the cruise and one at the end! The first one puts us in the right mood for the cruise, the second one helps us to acclimate to the world! Elvis And you're married 10 years? Rookies! 43 years for us!!!!
  19. Hennessy XO! Now you're talking! A glass of XO and a cigar and I'm happy! Elvis
  20. The fact that you're never in any place long enough to get tired of it! If you get bored on the ship, well, there's something seriously wrong with you! I just get a drink, find a quiet place to sit and read my book, or hang out in the cigar lounge with new friends! It's the only way to travel! Elvis
  21. No problem getting them on the ship. The only problem you may encounter is trying to get them on a plane. You can always pack your cutter in your checked baggage. The torch lighter may be a problem. I usually leave the torch at home and buy a "Bic" when I get to where I'm going. Elvis
  22. I too am a martini guy. If I can't get Belvedere I go with Kettle One. Grey Goose is just french swill as far as I'm concerned! Elvis
