Changes to RCL stops in Labadee
firefly333 replied to orville99's topic in Royal Caribbean International
It's been a while for me also but the only way we were allowed to leave the beach area was a excursion by ship that hugged the shore where we could see the town where crew ,loved. We couldnt leave otherwise then either. When did it get changed they allowed you to leave the area? I havent followed it much it seems. -
Utopia of the Seas itinerary planned?
firefly333 replied to tx121's topic in Royal Caribbean International
And miracle was built in a by gone day. Only a few ships older than spirit class left. That class does have the most space per pax of any carnival classes and is considered quite beautiful. Not sure it's exactly competition for utopia. Closer to radiance OTS for instance. Days gone by. And even carnival I never see cruises under $100 a day, from Florida or PC. And I'm not taking fake pricing where someone quotes a peice then doesnt say per person based on double occupancy before taxes and fees. I deal in real prices, the total price. And not a casino rate. Only msc left at lower prices. -
I saw a couple ask who were in theirs 80s in the steak restaurant and the waiter gave them a lecture on downloading the app, never did give them a menu. My pet peeve is I'd like to see some sales .. something for onboard stuff, excursions for instance, or sales on cruises, not just casino rates people brag how cheap their rates are. A one day sale on something .. I often look and it's the same ole every time I look. Nothing to encourage me personally to book. Seems like they dont want my business.

The answer is I havent seen one in many years. Lomg long ago they tried to have a few bargain priced cabins to those who managed to get thru and call in first. It was a zoo and didn't work out well. Havent seen them even make a effort since. Dont hold your breath.

Odd as no one but you has ever posted about this new program. None of us have heard of it. When I choose early dining my table number appears on my card, both before covid and ever since covid. I'm siding with GTO girl.

Allure show reservations question
firefly333 replied to kimberlym4's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I walked out half way thru. It's about saving the planet I guess. The songs are ones that arent happy and catchy and couldnt understand them. In the background a couple of people did trampoline back and forth behind some rocks, nothing inspired like the aqua show. Half way thru a screen is supposed to come down. We had technical difficulties and the show just abruptly stopped. I left. A few super imposed pictures of things like whales I saw. Nothing great. I heard so many say one and done but wanted to see for myself. I didnt go back the 2nd week and I love musicals. I want toe tapping songs you heard of at least one song. Not something that is just wierd. One guy I met said hes on for 5 weeks and it was his 3rd time seeing it and he was starting to get it a little bit. -
Allure show reservations question
firefly333 replied to kimberlym4's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Cruise planner has been down. Have you checked online? Allure new short cruises I have read others are having issues booking shows. I booked my nov 26 on harmony just last week. Yours might not open until after Nov 1st for dec. Start watching Nov 1 though could be a few days later. Harmony we had to book from online, click planner, then scroll down to entertainment.. if you don't see entertainment at the bottom when online then it's not open. Watch your roll call, people will be posting it when they book. -
45 days before, midnight ship time. If you leave from miami, miami midnight, Galveston then its texas time.

Yes I know, I guess my post wasnt clear to you. I thought I said if you have 340 pts or a suite you get upgraded toiletries. If you arent in a suite or 340 pts and in a balcony or lower you get regular all in one and a bar of soap. I was just on allure and was sure when I posted it. I'm there and always get them. Everyone else understood I guess as I posted that days ago. Just you went to double check and of course I am correct. I got off just last sunday lol. It's not like I could have forgotten, recent experience.

Which ships have guest laundries?
firefly333 replied to GottaLuvCruising's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
Lol as above. The new ships do NOT have them so the older ships like spirit class DO have them. -
I noticed upgraded pillows from the regular cabins. I was in a corner aft surrounded by suites and got their pillows. Bigger and fluffier. Then moved to a regular cabin the 2nd week and the difference in the size and fluffiness was very apparent. Also pillows went clear across the bed. Wouldnt have noticed if not b2b weeks.

I'd rather be below the WJ than grandeur where the JS were below the solarium where they served pizza at night with a tile floor noise. Heard lots of complaints. No where to move those complaining about the noise.

If lobster isnt even listed for lunch and off menu, I personally wouldnt go expecting them to make a off menu item for lunch.

Does Carnival usually have sorbet?
firefly333 replied to Cherries Jubilee's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
Lol the waiters always called it sherbet in the Mdr. Has it changed? Or are they the same thing. Yes I've gotten it in the Mdr and flavors vary. Rainbow, to pineapple. Just never heard it called sorbet. I think I saw it on vista in the front of the buffet area, very limited hours during lunch and called sorbet. -
Changing a specialty restaurant res...
firefly333 replied to Tree_skier's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Once you get onboard head to izumi. I've read that many times, Izumi is easiest. They will move it to the day you want once onboard.. any dining restaurant. Just hear it's less line and wait there, go to izumi to schedule dining times. That's what I did and worked. I dont think you yourself can move it. -
Lol we all love food and seems like a lot asking the same questions. Food should be similar from ship to ship. Here is should I book 150, wonderland .. or Italian, one extra in the choice but comments apply to your 2 choices. I plan on trying both my upcoming b2b2b on harmony I'll know wonderland or 150. I tried chops on allure and was very disappointed. Wouldnt be back soon.

eDocs & Luggage Tags Now in APP
firefly333 replied to PompeySailor's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I use the app to see menu for dinner ahead of time to plan a bit. I book shows, sign in for boarding online. App isnt necessary but helpful. I also once onboard click on daily planner, then filter by entertainment to see what show I booked that night. I doubt any 2 people use it the same. -
In caymans which is a tender I had a booked excursion where we were told to meet at a green tent, not onboard. I was told to walk from one end to the other 3 times across the ship. If you book a excursion with rcl I'd have thought you should be allowed off the ship before those without rcl excursion tickets. I would not book another excursion where I had to be onshore at a certain time. And getting off allure muddled. Told to meet in the theater deck 5, waited for elevator, not carrying a suitcase down stairs. They said oh no we are using this for yellow and red bus tickets. Go to deck 4 theather. Waited again, good thing I asked, oh walk offs meet deck 5 at the Starbucks and by then the line wrapped around the deck, but it started to move soon after. Could use work. Carnival spoiled me with priority tendering and debark by loyalty level. Not just a mass rush for the door, its more organized, though on my upcoming journey cruise priority is not a perk saying mostly high level cruisers book these journey cruises. .. but regular cruises it is nice and much better organized. Organization of tenders and debark, and getting off with a excursion much more organized on carnival. Apparently royal doesnt believe in being organized and knowing where to direct people to wait.

Payment Nightmare - A Cautionary Tale
firefly333 replied to gmerick's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I havent read the small print in a while, but I know carnival wouldnt even take those generic gift cards. If your name isnt preprinted on the card they dont take it for payment.
