I probably would have tried the appetizer with shrimp. It sounds good. Imcoukdnt read the 2nd app, but hope it was good. But you got a entree with shrimp so I guess that's why. Too much shrimp. All this food makes my mouth water.

I remember before covid all the fuss about coolers. People were wheeling on cases of soda and then mad when their coolers were confiscated. Carnival cracked down and that's why such small coolers now allowed. .. people were abusing and looked like the Beverley hillbillies imo. Carnival had to crack down, it was out of hand. I think the reservation is for the set price izumi. 39.99 onboard. Not for the ala carte. I could be wrong. When I make a reservation it charges me for the set price menu. I dont think you make reservations for ala carte.

I booked a solo cabin with refundable deposit onboard. Only $1 difference. A couple gets $76 obc and I got $75 obc. .. the $100 obc is only for nonrefundable fares. I booked a balcony.

I did a b2b on breeze (and vista) since the restart. The free bus takes you to a different meet place as before covid and the local tours have changed. I'm trying to remember and think I did chichen itza from progresso, closest pt. Carnival showed me Mexico. If you go to progresso, and take the free bus, the locals have a bus running to 4 things. Not sure the ruins you want to see but also flamingos ..though in the wild they are only pink during the right time so might not be of interest... but for about $55 pp they take you 4 places.

B2B cruisers have a lunch in there. I've seen Key holders meet another side of Mdr for lunch, though it might not always be there. There are people who eat in there not general pax that I've seen. Do a b2b and you will be invited.

If you wind up doing rcl, email me and I can suggest a ta if you dont have one. Carnival doesnt matter if you book cheaper cruises, not enough profit for extra obc. Rcl they have group rates, with refundable deposits a bit to more than a bit less than booking direct. And I dont get to combine my balcony discount booking direct, just group rates. Carnival I pay the going rate. Rcl I never pay the going rate. TAs have access to lower group rates on rcl. If you love lower rates, it's worth it. Every rcl in my signature is a group rate. If there is a way to get carnival solo cruises for less, I'm interested. No not cards etc. Lol. I'm moving to PC next year I hope. So more ports easily accessible. More cruiseline choices out of florida than texas. I'm following along here to see comments on dinner especially. Food!

I earned it. Did that many carnival and paid for each one. Just annoyed at them right now at their texas prices. But I can afford to wait. I wish carnival had more loyalty perks and made it more worth it to pay a little extra. I'm pushing toward pinnacle on rcl, free wifi, a free cruise, bogo every cruise. Carnival gives me a one time free diamond meal. .. I think bogo would get people booking more pay restaurants. Yes I know I digress. I did see finally mardi gras has some less expensive dates .. after Venezia comes in .. seems venezia is competition for mardi gras. Yea... I'll do mardi gras instead and wait for venezia. Yea for venezia. I did 3 on ncl and liked the food, 3 on princess, 1 celebrity which I liked but priced better for couples imo. Interesting shop tour. I buy too much of that stuff. So they do actually do a mask night onboard. I saw some chatter.

Sounds like it would be cheaper to do 2 connecting cabins. A adult in each. I sail solo. The 2 pts are nice. There arent many 3 and 4 pax cabins and they are a different category if you look at your mock booking. And summer rates have lots of kids booking.

I'm at the same point. I'll be diamond on carnival so saying I dont like carnival isnt true. I didnt like most Mdr dinners on carnival, like their white pizza and burgers better. I pushed to 340 pts on rcl last may and did 4 legs on grandeur, a old ship, for $1600 just to hit the solo discount. 25% off most all rcl rates makes a huge difference and solo cabins no solo supplement. I'm moving to PC and see mardi gras discounted some finally. Out of Texas its carnival land and carnival sky high prices. I'm paying about $650 this sept for allure inside balcony. Nothing old or new on carnival that cheap. Obviously I still watch carnival prices and enjoying the LIVE, just wouldnt pay extra for carnival. This ship is coming to PC lol. So yea I'm interested. ..at the right price.

I dont think any of the cruiselines are discounting much. Prices just seem to go up and up. I would not hold my breath hoping for a sale. I understood your post and realize you just want to book soon, not cruise soon. I dont see any good deals.

Pool deck aft is my go to area. Some outside breeze. Pool too loud for me to enjoy reading a book.

You could go to the pool and snatch up towels that werent turned in. I always see tons of those.
