I could be wrong but I booked a refundable cruise last month on oasis and didnt get a reduced deposit. @Ourusualbeachsaid that's how it is, not reduced. Also got reduced obc from next cruise. A couple went from $100 obc nonrefundable to $76 refundable. I got $75, $1 less as a solo on refundable. It was a different thread he posted refundable doesnt get reduced deposits. Oops sorry I quoted you. You suggested booking nonrefundable onboard.sorry.

And if you find a ta with refundable group rates they maybe $1k less than booking direct too. Bella2 is a big discount, but it's also high priced so a bigger than usual discount. Depends how expensive the cruise is how much less a refundable group rate is. I dont have a rule of thumb but every rcl cruise in my signature is a refundable rate and less, not more. Only my carnival cruise is nonrefundable.

I've been doing uber. One time last dec I did click on a 50% more expensive uber to get to the port. It was some big weekend not just cruises, like Charles Dickens parade, idk. But I've always gotten a ubee, maybe not the cheapest one. A taxi would be more.

Jubilee will be coming to Galveston and it and its 2 sisters are LNG ships. Idk supposed to be less or no soot. Carnival is expanding terminal 1 for LNG. I dont follow the details but plan to try one of these new ships. On the subject of expansion MSC has presented plans to build a new terminal.

My mostly absent steward on oasis never asked and knew I didnt like the time. Never even introduced himself. Next time I'll push back more and choose. This was bella1 where my steward stunk.

I wait and pay my gratuities on the cruise with leftover obc. Book a excursion or two. Buy myself a present in the online store. Twice out of 15 I have cashed out a small amount of obc. Last december I got sick and thought I would be confined to my cabin and cashes out my extra obc. Negative for covid and they were ok with me being sick it seemed and didnt confine me. .. oh well, I was ready.

Odd my last cabin steward said she was going from 16 to 18 to 25. Ask and get 100 different answers. Sure they can do more cabins a day. Not exactly a surprise.

Ask around on your next cruise is one way. I didn't book too far from home in case I had to fly home for a emergency but at least i could cruise. Once i move I'll be more free to venture further away. I dont even like leaving my single family home for too long right now. I'd like a safe condo i can lock the door and feel my stuff is safe.

If they want to pay with obc ... they type in the amount when they check out and pay for the item. Ignore the credit card part even though it's in red, if balance is 0, will go thru. See the line on the bottom of this screen shot says do you want to use obc.

Book refundable. My TA has refundable group rates or I'm not sure I'd feel comfortable. I'm already iffy on my oct 2024 and dec 2024 bookings. My mom died since I booked and now I might move by then. When I booked my plans were to stay here and help my mom. I thought I knew my future but life changed unexpectedly and having refundable deposits, I can change and move my bookings or keep them.

I don't see this answered but our 10 day we used the deck 13 diamond lounge. You go in and out where the red neon EXIT sign is. I missed it at first. Odd the entrance says exit. There was no expansion going on and we were full. When new people came in if all the chairs not full the diamond ambassador would go ask the table occupants if they minded sharing. Until every seat was gone.

Oh for sure all cabins have coolers. Some say leave the cabinet a little open so air get in and it will stay colder. Grandeur is the oldest ship in the fleet. The cheaper cabins didnt have a cooler, insides and ovs didnt for sure.

I think for pullman beds they will stop by a 2nd time, not expect you to do the beds. On oasis the guy never asked me. Came by about 1 pm which was right in the middle of my day. I wanted either early or during dinner. He skipped a day when I wanted the cabin after lunch. Maybe some one can answer if we for sure have a choice. I didnt and he knew I didnt like middle of the afternoon.

Did you like the roast beef sandwiches? I was a no. Meat too thick and one large slice and they dont have the rye buns like park cafe on oasis class. I tried them once and didnt finish it.

Yes it's on your cruise planner. The price seems stuck at 28.99. If it goes down I can cancel and rebook. This is for nov 26 harmony actually, but I can see it even way out for oct 2024 harmony. Lol same price. Been watching the price and its stuck.

No but I get 5 free drinks anywhere, anytime I can use for this. A couple white wine choices works for me. I dont drink red wine. I'm just randomly picking meals for sept and the nov/dec b2b2b.

I have this booked on harmony in nov this year. Cant be bogo because its last steady, day 7. 28.99 plus 18% was 34.20. Total.

Unless you have a drinks pkg or promo yes. Drinks arent free. I get 5 free drinks a day and can choose to use them anywhere. But it's a loyalty perk I earned.

This, and also I want to apply any extra obc to my tips. Cant if I prepay.

And even solo discounts can be applied to group rates.
