Ships with balconies facing inside the ship
firefly333 replied to caliSue1234's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Boardwalk is more open. Depending where you are what is below. Johnny rockets is below, the carousel and even nearer the end a bean bag toss. I'd bet a lot miss the bean bag toss right after johnny rockets. I took the end of boardwalk to see out the aft better on allure. All the other ships have a slide blocking a lot of the aft view. They save the very end for expensive suites. Central park is more trees and benches you see. Quieter. A fake bird call I could do without. Central park balconies any ending in "29" are double long and more space to sit out and have lounge chairs or you can ask for them .. same price. My sister has epilepsy and prefers not to look out at the water moving by. It's not for everyone. She wants to see a stationary place. -
Check your Chase Offers/Spend $100, get $35 back
firefly333 replied to kimandtim's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
I have a chase sapphire card hmm . And I certainly owe more than $100. Its finally getting close enough I can think ahead to my 14 day next January. Was soooooo far away when I booked it. Price if I booked now is so crazy, just keeps going up. No more like it out of Galveston. -
Not a cheerleader but I've done multiple ships even Bella cruise, on oasis and then a week later 10 day radiance. I havent yet found a ship I couldn't get the printed version. That's why people keep posting to ask stewards to leave it. There are no rcl ships that dont have it somewhere. .. my opinion. Name a ship where it's not available... if you ask.

Ships with balconies facing inside the ship
firefly333 replied to caliSue1234's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I was taking some recent pictures, have some older ones I'd have to scroll to find. I was taking pictures of the "29" balconies over central park. These are sometimes as cheap or cheaper than insides as there are so many inside and outside balconies. You can hear a lot of guitar music at night, sometimes singing. Look down at the people. -
I got a compass every day without asking. Maybe I look old. I'd be ok with not getting it, but so far keep getting one. I'm not sure your housekeeping rule is for everyone. Maybe some get late and some early. I got mid day on oasis and on radiance she kept coming (march 27 to april 6). They were just going to move to once a day.

Royal up for Solos and General Royal up questions
firefly333 replied to latebuyer's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I dont think that's a good conclusion. That person had a virtual balcony.. their royal up prices were based on already having a balcony. You are inside so of course your royal up based on moving from a inside. Balcony to a better balcony will be less. -
Anyone been on Serenade recently?
firefly333 replied to Host Jacquelyn's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I've been on 2 smaller ships. I see no one replied specifically about serenade. Both had pizza until 3 am in the solarium. -
Maybe as a mattress is used it gets softer. I think a brand new mattress is too firm and want one broken in. As op said this was a new mattress, not broken in. I've had them before.

Yes royal has shuttles out of Galveston as do many private shuttles like saltwater moms. There is a vet group too dont remember their name. When I had friends fly in i met them and we all stayed the night in houston. Galveston hotels are older and probably cost 3 times more but you can walk along the ocean. When i see and smell the ocean i relax and my vacation starts. Look at hotels along seawall blvd in Galveston. Either option works. It will cost more to go to Galveston for the night.

I posted the same prices just included fees and taxes for the same cat lol. Several of us posted it. I said you have to click thru too. Oh well.

Are formal nights returning?
firefly333 replied to Dolby1000's topic in Royal Caribbean International
People dress how they want. No matter what it says. I wouldnt even worry how they word it. -
As above with dp340 code I still got the discount. See example.
-
When you say you got $729 are you sure you changed it to 1 pax. Dp340 only works for 1 pax solo. As you see above I'm getting higher for 1 pax.

New global legal terms and conditions
firefly333 replied to latebuyer's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Idk if this is it but at the end of this month you cant cancel for covid and get a refund. -
I do know how you feel cruising with your heart broken. Mid january my mom had a stroke and 5 days later passed away. I fell and broke my wrist and had 2nd time setting it the afternoon before her stroke. It's hard not to feel I maybe needed to have done more with her but I couldn't. The day after my surgery she was in the hospital beyond communication. Not a day goes by I dont miss her. We had her funeral on a friday and I had a cruise leaving the next monday I was a no show for. No insurance. I had 3 more paid in full cruises in march. It wasnt the same. I'm used to getting home and calling her I home safely. Talking to her every day. It's not the same cruising with a broken heart and i have tons of paperwork and Bill's waiting my attention. Some times all you can do is keep putting one foot in front of another. You lost a pet .. a part of your family. When I lost mine that too broke my heart. I sure sympathise. All you can do is go and enjoy as best you can.

Royal up for Solos and General Royal up questions
firefly333 replied to latebuyer's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Only happened to me once and on carnival. They considered it a upgrade. My carnival person says read your contract, they have the right to change your cabin. A friend of mine boarded allure and had booked a spacious ov and got bumped to a central park balcony. He went to guest services and got a future credit. They told him a entertainer wanted his cabin and gave him what they considered a upgrade. Ov to balcony. -
Royal up for Solos and General Royal up questions
firefly333 replied to latebuyer's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Yes solo pays x 2. As it says all pay x 2, even if 4 in the cabin. You make a offer and they immediately move you if accepted. You get no choice on if you like the location. Your credit card is charged. Some were less than thrilled I've read. Some happy. -
I guess you are wedded to carnival no matter what. Agree a lot less motion on larger ships and not during hurricane season. Galveston has allure with the real broadway play mama mia right now. You book shows in different parts of the ship so crowds are less than on smaller ships. Some say so big you lose the ocean .. but for a first timer, less motion. I just got off a smaller ship and lots more motion. Allure leaves and then harmony which does grease. Not excerpts. The big ships pay royalties and do the action broadway production. Nothing I've seen beats mama mia. Though I'd love jubilee myself. Flying adds stress. Go out of Galveston first time.

New Policy, only one entree at a time?
firefly333 replied to mcatmcat's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I think it's a shame to take it out on the waiter who is just following the rules. But maybe not and they were excellent the whole 10 weeks. Couldnt have been better imo. .. just didnt serve 2 plates at the same time. I dont get why people are taking it out on the waiter. -
Cancelled a port call, any recourse?
firefly333 replied to jacelyn's topic in Royal Caribbean International
How do you explain why if carnival misses the same ports their policy is they always refund some small amount for port fees. It's just that rcl has decided not to automatically refund port fees. Nothing to do with how the ports charge rcl. .. or carnival would do it the same way. This is just something rcl decided they can get away with imo so they do. And also if port fees are less after I board every time carnival gives me a little unexpected obc for the overage .. unlike rcl. -

New Policy, only one entree at a time?
firefly333 replied to mcatmcat's topic in Royal Caribbean International
2 guys at my table tried very hard to get 2 entrees at the same time on radiance I just got off of. They were firmly refused. Neither had any success. One was a pinnacle and he was more upset and waved off the waiter with a flick of his wrist. Must be hard to be a waiter and say no to some. None got 2 dishes together the whole 10 days.
