  1. Are you sure recently that TAs dont fill up? I booked may 25, and was surprised I got a balcony for only $30 more on voyager, pool deck. Whatever deck I wanted. Price seems reasonable to me. Idk if they are still having TAS like before covid that dont fill up? Seems like more of us lately looking for something new or different.
  2. Best time has been as soon as its released. Prices have mostly only gone up. Maybe price increases will slow down, but I am continually shocked in rel life and price increases. Just prices hotels at hobby airport .. since I last stayed them. Booming. Inflation just has slowed, not stopped.
  3. Easily solved. I saw a whole family with baggage issues wearing robes around the ship. Celebrate white night early, everyone in their bathrobes. I saw someone post if royal will wash these robes or change them out during a cruise. Is our free D+ laundry good to get them cleaned. All set. No worries be happy.
  4. I've been getting the beach bag. I need to remember to call and change to toiletry bag. The attached is the beach bag. Its folded into the small bag in front. Lol once unfolded it never folds back so you can put it back in. As above ... you have to call crown and anchor.
  5. Last black Friday drinks were not on sale. Excursions were 30% off, which I bought. All but one Lynn was 40% off, so I bought lunches. Wifi for 3 or 4 people one purchase for 3 or 4 people was on sale ..for bigger families I guess. Not on sale for 1 pax. Drinks werent cheaper.
  6. Bright line train in florida charges $25 for each luggage if you pay for the base fare, have to buy the higher fare to include luggage.
  7. Hi, I picked port Canaveral though imo prices are scary high. Adventure. I booked eastern, xmas (grand bahamas, labadee) and southern on adventure for the ports. Adventure does alternating 6 and 8 days. The 8 days have the best variety. Southern obviously is ABC islands. Eastern is VISITING: Orlando (Port Canaveral), Florida Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic San Juan, Puerto Rico Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands Orlando (Port Canaveral), Florida
  8. Yes I'm a big bug. These were little bugs, gnats coming thru my sink and on my shower curtain and walls of my bathroom. Finally got rid of them coming up thru the sink by leg 3. I admit I'm preduiced against grandeur.
  9. Cramer on high cruise prices. "People are long on money and short on time to do experiences" Lol looks like rcl is UP this morning.
  10. I wasnt a fan of grandeur. It's been a long while since I did rhapsody so I favor rhapsody thinking it's better. Had issues on grandeur. 2 legs I had bugs in my bathroom sink for instance. Ship just arrived in Galveston from the islands when I did 4 legs, so maybe brought bugs from the islands. Surly waiter who didnt understand in texas we dont want someone telling us what to order. We still had the vegetarian menu and child mens and she woukdnt let me order from either. .. just wasnt a good experience. I'm considering rhapsody not grandeur.
  11. I did vista and b2b breeze after covid and quit carnival for a while the food was so bad. Dont know if it was having to have a passport or the artic blast that delayed flights but I heard 1300 to 1500 didnt board. Lines were awesome everywhere. Mongolian bbq 6 people in line on average. Could be because dream was a journey cruise and lots didnt make the ship that food was extra good last month. I saw arugula lettuce on the buffet, I saw sugar snaps at the Mongolian bbq (previously replaced by green beans), and other special touches I've missed. My only complaint was the watermelon just wasnt good, but the other fruit was all good, especially the pineapple. I did the deli 3 times for blt, 3 times for pizza and guys 3 times. Brunch twice in the Mdr. Dinners were Mdr or buffet. Way better, big improvement.
  12. His usual thing is which credit cards have the best benefits and how to get upgraded on airlines. I've read him for years. Cruiselines arent his usual, just happened to see this one. That's why his name. He flies on points from credit cards a lot. I thought the food was much improved from early after covid. Others have gone down, carnivals was improved. I liked the new menu items, emeril inspired or whatever. Tasty. He mentioned big chik so maybe he did mardi gras. Had to have been on a newer carnival ship.
  13. We hate old charges too big to write off. I took the job to get health benefits at the time. But I know the law. The 90 days only is for regular charges not ones where the product was scheduled to be delivered or service at a date in the future.
  14. Actually you can still dispute this charge with your credit card. I worked at amex in disputes. There are things you buy in advance that can be disputed. Like a wedding dress for a wedding in the future or retail stuff like custom furniture being made. Stuff that is to be delivered in the future can be disputed. They may not want to take the dispute, but legally you can dispute charges past the usual 90 day limit for items to be delivered at a later date. The phone or site might bump it out on date of charge but I've done charges past the usual date like this.
  15. He mostly writes about how to upgrade flying on points, but this is about cruising food. I was very happy with the food on dream as I've said. https://thepointsguy.com/guide/best-cruise-food/ Warning: I'm about to make a lofty and controversial claim. Carnival Cruise Line has the best all-around food of any mainstream cruise line. The food quality is even more surprising because its fares are some of the industry's lowest. In addition to a pleasant variety of cuisine in its ships' onboard buffets, passengers will find delicious options on the main dining room menus daily. (One of the best-kept secrets is the line's Indian cuisine. If you don't see it on the menu, ask.) Sure, Carnival has added-fee dining in the way of steak and seafood, but in terms of free fare, Carnival has the most impressive array of alternative dining options for which you won't have to shell out anything extra. In particular, I give special nods to Guy's Burger Joint by Guy Fieri; the BlueIguana Cantina, which offers Mexican food; Big Chicken, Shaquille O'Neal's chicken eatery; and Pizza Pirate or Pizzeria del Capitano (depending on the ship), which are renowned for their simply drool-worthy pies.
  16. I didnt read every word but sounded like someone was keeping the company going and working thru the bankruptcy filing. They arent out of business just filling bankruptcy and goig to keep on. Not a file and stop sailing filing. I hope you dont lose any money.
  17. Arent most specialty closed for lunch on port days. I know like Jamie's or chops I can only book lunch on sea days.
  18. I did the 14 day dream just last month. Idk if because it was 14 or not but the food was very good. We had new menus items which were also good. I was on the ship that had some excitement out of cozumel and the winds turned on us and the captain made everyone go back to their cabins. Cant think of anything I didnt like. Southern voices had some really good ole country music, but didnt do any line dances. They said their first gig. Good sound, but surprisingly south africa british in person. They had the texas sound down to a T. I kind of followed them around as I enjoyed their music the best.
  19. I'd choose 2 or 3 for the ports. Unless you only do oasis class rcl, carnival ships are no better or worse than older rcl ships. I just did dream for better ports and it was a awesome cruise. Of course I'd like to do mardi gras class for the new food, but given the choice I went for new ports, over newer ship. I'm not a big fan of vista class, which horizon is. Unless you are in their special area and in a regular cabin, theater and other venues smaller. And promenade deck closed in. Older ships have more views of the ocean.
  20. I saw this on dream. After all the fuss over on rcl when pax were asked about paying for pizza, and pizza gate, I had to laugh to see carnival offering pizza for a price. I just ordered the free pizza, but did see these 2 were offered. No one is forcing people to buy them. Dont see why the fuss over on rcl and resistance. The free pizza was still awesome.
  21. Around the first or so of the month previous to your cruise they appear. I join my roll call and know someone will see them and post so I book ahead.
  22. My TA can move me to another if it's the exact same category. Says he doesnt even have to call, just can do it himself online.
  23. You could do 2 balconys next to each other solo and also get 2 pts each. Compare prices. Often the JS is more than double a balcony. Or I'd book one.
  24. To me interesting downtown miami, bricknell area, where hotels are, prices are crazy good imo. I saw a new listing alert last week sure was a good price. CNBC just had a guy on and a oversupply of condos in bricknell area, miami beach though is in demand. It really depends where you are looking. I kinda briefly thought about it, but I'm tired of city living, wanted a quieter area. Downtown miami idk if safe or not but i doubt I'd love living there, even though its close to a port. I'm on a neighborhood app and every day i see someone had something stolen. Someone posted the hood of their truck was stolen. I think smaller areas like PC are safer. I hope I'm not wrong. I dont feel safe here.
