  1. Sounds like none required, though I'm assuming you dont visit Panama or columbia. Bahamas and most Caribbean cruises I can think of passport not required. PS though I have a passport, I just being my plastic coated drivers license off the ship in my coin purse. Its waterproof. Only cozumel ever asked to see a ID
  2. Idk the condo market there is very soft. John sold perfect time imo. The HOAs are going up like crazy. Since that ft Lauderdale disaster every condo 3 stories and more has to have more $$$ in HOA and inspections are by a higher certified whomever. My HOA there went from $475 to $680. The one I'm buying I think advertised $601 and I told my realtor to dig and new board agreed to $741. Not happy but I dont feel it's safe to leave a single family home for a long time to cruise. I want to lock a door and leave as long as I want. Condo is the only option. The current renters have rented for will be 3 years. I wouldn't raise the rent and I suspect they might renew a 4th year. Covers my fixed costs. A agency is handling the rental, not me. I was going to give them notice, but I now think I just want more space. I have stuff! I'm a pack rat. I'm not losing by holding it. It's not going up in value but not losing either, per zillow whom my realtor thinks ignore. It went up when I bought but now not gaining in value.
  3. It's both glass windows and screened and all the windows have electric hurricane shutters. My oceanfront is older and has those sticks you need to put in a hole and turn to close hurricane shutters the windows, though the balcony has electric hurricane shutters. This bldg is 30 years newer. Dates set, just have to make it happen now. I saved a post from someone who moved who recommended a mover. My 14 day inspection ends tonight at midnight, so no backing out. Hired a inspector and needs a new water heater, we asked sellers to pay for it. They called asking size. So they might agree, but not backing out over a water heater. Had to get someone to go over and get a estimate, then write up addendum. So my request for seller to pay came in kinda late. Sounds like maybe? We close march 4, so very soon. I nailed it down before signing to sell my house here. Paid new HOA to join. But we are down to minor details. It's a go. I've kept this post saved all this time about moving lol.
  4. Hopefully we meet up and I can say in person. Any TAs planned? I think that's my next cruise I'm booking. A few out of Galveston then PC and ft Lauderdale and some TAs.
  5. Tampa has grandeur. I asked and good group price except I like bigger ships. I like more food choices. I admit it. Grandeur was my least favorite. Wouldn't be that long before that new bright line train can go to almost any Florida rcl port.
  6. Good luck in your surgery. Hope the last one and you are done. Wanted to wish you good luck but not bury it in my moving news.
  7. Well on rcl I do group pricing, then balcony discount then solo discount. I've seen group pricing 3k ish for icon. I am in a group where TAs post group pricing... though I'd use my own TA.. A balcony on harmony with group rates was $300 less than a inside on jubilee.. I only was checking Galveston. I'm sure you can get a balcony for way less on kcon with group price. I saw 3 rates, top was $3,700 for I think was called surfside balcony. New area? The other 2 were less. If I wasnt a solo maybe carnival would be cheaper but not with DP340 added in. .. though now I'm moving to florida so checking PC and mardi gras slightly less than newer jubilee.
  8. Well it looks like I have a new 2nd condo near PC. I have a buyer here with 2 small kids she wants to start the new school year in the school here. My condo I own is rented until sept 1st. Plus i think it's not as big as i now want. When i used to live in boca Raton before i moved back to texas i had more visitors than usual lmao. And i just wanted BIG. Under contract to buy new condo. Over 2k sf. Huge for a one level condo, no stairs. Huge balcony off 3 rooms. I dont own any balcony furniture but I'm hoping for a close by furniture store. All I've seen is walmart lol. Gotta be something there. Moving in blind, people ask havent you even checked for doctors there and stuff. Just assuming they got doctors and stores I need there besides publix and walmart. Closing there in a couple of weeks, but not moving until may 20th. I have mariner 7 day first cruise out of Galveston booked and paid for, then driving home and assuming a mover can pack me up and move me in. May 6 to may 13. Hiring packing and moving out, not doing it myself. Though I will start sorting and throwing out. Clearly I need some balcony furniture lol. 7.75 miles from the port my cousin says google maps. Hes Mr. IT. Still within close uber reach. Pool tennis/pickleball courts, library. Maybe I need to learn pickle ball. Close walking trails and lake to walk around. Need to get in shape is my plan this year. Oh and its Penthouse top level. Not sure I can see fish from that high, maybe birds?
  9. Idk most carnival cruisers are buying and ships with the private areas. Vista class they want the Havana area for a private pool. Not as cheap as people think to book carnival. Used to be able to book rcl or carnival for $100 a day. Those days are gone for both, no matter what you book. A balcony on the carnival cruise I just got off was running over 6k unless you booked with a casino offer, though 14 days. Older ship, great ports. I can actually book rcl cheaper with DP340 than i can book a inside on jubilee, bottom deck. I think people who dont click thru assume carnival is still cheap rates. Nope. Now its try MSC they are cheaper. $1500 solo on jubilee inside cabin isnt cheap to me. That's still $200 a day for carnival. I'm not paying more for carnival when i can book cheaper on rcl with DP340. Dream on about cheap rates.
  10. I did miracle to alaska and loved it. Bring your binoculars. The older folks early each morning would grab chairs and line them up in the buffet looking out at the scenery. A balcony is nice but they wanted to see both sides of scenery, especially the morning we saw whales. Maybe my favorite cruise. Wish air fare was less, I'd be right back with ya.
  11. I certainly would stop by and see. People will be cancelling and moving dates when they board plus UDP will be booking their meals. I'd head there first. Someone will be there to ask.
  12. A 26 day cruise from florida to the baltics sounds exactly like what I'm looking for. Wish they would post one that long from florida. I booked a 13 and 10 day from pc may 2025 .. fall is free waiting for something like yours.
  13. I've flipped houses before it was called flipping, all used. Idk how I would find out where previous owners died. For sure the husband died here and then the mom. Could have been in the hospital or at home. Pretty much all my homes I know someone died before current seller sold to me. Some have been historic areas, very old like swiss Avenue down in old east dallas.
  14. One of the bloggers is suggesting mutiny. We want to know how the cruiser died on the world cruise. He says .. not me. It's making bloggers headlines anyway. They need those clicks.
  15. I keep reading wonder is going to replace harmony out of Galveston. April 2026 harmony TA. Going to be a long wait. They think rcl is hinting about this, like saying it will be wonderfull. Or words they think means wonder to texas.
  16. I've read rome and greece have lots of mosquitoes. Pack some insect repellent. More so than islands in the Caribbean.
  17. I keep wondering why no one ever posts how high Star prices are, but every 2 days like clockwork someone posts a new thread about Icon prices. One of these days someone will notice Star prices?
  18. Carnival does anytime dining very well. Just press a button and table assigned. I liked how they do it.
  19. Wish I had that many booked. I have 3 booked on adventure. Booked recently at recent prices, not when they first came out. My esp about moving wasnt working.
  20. Anytime opens for pre reservations around 7:45, and I couldn't book that early when i tried anytime. Its squeezed between early and late. They dont have eaely times you can pre book. Though agree 9 pm is too late. I did anytime and thought it's done so poorly by royal now I just book early fixed time.
  21. I sat with a lady for lunch on a turn around day, b2b who was pinnacle. She was actually put out by how the waiter greeted her. She said it should be obvious from her pin she was a repeat cruiser and should have said something welcoming her back. Noted her pin and greeted her differently than me who had no pin. There are some entitled for sure. Noticed but just kinda smiled and tried to jolly her out of being upset about it. People will be people and I get it. One said it was the most expensive piece of jewelry he owned so he is going to wear it.
  22. I'm not even complaining about if the ship is already scheduled. I'm talking about I've booked it and thought I locked in the price. Idk about hotels. If i paid at the time i booked the hotel, i also cant imagine getting there and them saying i owed more. New bookings I can understand adding it. But not if you already are booked at a price you have in writing. and I get it, I'm in the minority and most say it's fine to add on charges after I book and it's too late to cancel. Lucky I only have 2 this year going there. Some out of florida I'm sure had many more affected. The example above says royal shouldnt absorb 3500, if 3500 booked, but the ship wasnt all booked when this was added on, only affects those who booked ahead this year. Just my opinion. As noted above hits jan 1st this year.
  23. Someone off harmony today posted this, so it's still going on on harmony. Just too many high level loyalty and good prices ot of texas. Shes getting lots of responses. I think on my cruise was close to 1300 loyalty pts was the cut off. "Just off the Harmony. 1100 points didn't make you a "Top Tier Pinnacle". No Pinnacle Lounge, Coastal Kitchen or Sun deck access. All the Diamonds were kicked out of the Crown Lounge too."
  24. It's been at least 25 years, maybe longer since I did the big red boat and those 1 day cruises to the bahamas before my cruising days. Not that excited for it tbh. But the 8 day cruise before it goes to some new ports for me and I'm moving to a new place I dont know anyone so said might as well book the 6 day afterwards over xmas. If it wasnt b2b and xmas wouldnt have booked it lol. Also been to bimini on one of those long ago cruises. One restaurant, 1 bar and endless sand. They did a wet tee shirt contest at the bar was the only activity. Lol. All the contestants but 1 were ringers. We pulled for the real customer but I think one of the ringers won. I am annoyed royal is adding Bahamas tax to already booked cruises. I think once you lock in a price it should be the price. Dont care if it's only $20.
  25. They do enforce the height requirement. Maybe it's for insurance idk but they will measure if your boy looks close.
