My beef with the new ceo is he was promoted from accounting and seems too focused on that and not making customers happy. I'd like to see them bring in some better Mdr menus. Like carnival is doing. I did look at what ships go out of PC and dont like italian so dont want that italian ship, Venezia and I saw vista. Done vista enough out of texas. Mardi gras all I saw I have any interest in. Pushed it back by 2 weeks august 2025 so people havent even booked flights or hotels. You can move to the august 31st date price protected. Or to another ship same week, 3 options. I think also to another week with star was the 3rd option. Jubilee was pushed back to last xmas, I'm sure you were busy posting worrying that carnival was having trouble with financing when it was pushed back even more weeks. I wouldnt count on smaller builds from rcl either. Looking or thinking about something said in answer to a question, didnt rule it out, but then announced another as yet unnamed oasis class ship next to be built. Seems icon class is very expensive to build, quite a bit more than oasis class. Icon and star are the only announced icon class ships. Utopia is coming and after star will be another oasis class they said recently. I was shocked how much more expensive than oasis class. Recent itineraries show rcl is moving to do big ships on shorter routes. Wonder currently the newest oasis class being moved to s. Florida to do 3 and 4 days. Other short routes announced. Huge disappointment. People are looking at carnival lol for another line.

I sure would. 3 pay restaurants that are not free if you have assigned times. Imo they made the dining room too small to hold everyone on purpose hence this way of handling the overflow. Used to be unlimited in these pay venues, just recently they said 1 night free of each.

I still have nothing booked from may 2025 until jan 2026. Nothing appeals to me at the prices offered or it's just a duplicate of what I already have booked. Explorer does a 9 day ending on jan 5. But over new years eve. You must be looking for very specific dates. ABC plus Jamaica.

As a solo a land vacation or AI doesnt appeal. I think a lot of solos prefer cruises. Not just me.

Adventure is doing 8 days to ABCs. 3 more dates came up. I'm booked april 2025, but seems more in late 2025. I didnt look for more. Out of PC.

Not just jan 2026. Late 2025 also lack of longer cruises. Used to be some 11 days out of tampa or Panama.. .no more iceland. Rcl seems to have switched to mini cruises.

Choose anytime dining. I think only those with anytime dining can eat once in the semi pay restaurants. After once in chibang etc (I think 3 available), then there is a fee. Only free to those with anytime. Their anytime dining is easier than royals, just push a button on their app, no standing in line. Just this class is doing this. I priced mardi gras and 2k for a week inside too. With taxes. One 6 day I could book a bit less, but still high to me.

You could look up just about any low carb diet and follow it yourself. Skip the rice and potatoes and eat meat and salad, go easy on desserts. If either of you has ever dieted, you know carbs are what to skip. You should be able to tell what foods are high in sugar or carbs without talking to royal, or I could.

I dont pay more for royal than carnival, I do group pricing and solo discounts so for me carnival is more $$$$. I got in on carnivals birthday half price sale so my last cruise was a carnival journey cruise, which still wasnt inexpensive. I do love the burgers and fast food on carnival. Love carnivals pizza. There are some ships on royal with pay food I've enjoyed lately too with obc I got from booking and owning rcl stock. Mariner coming in has playmakers, not free, but for $20 good. Not expensive. On carnival I missed my free drinks and wifi. Carnival doesn't discount excursions. I went ouch as I purchased excursions last month on carnival. Full priced. Missed rcls dynamic pricing. The freebies do equal out for me what carnival offers with free fast food I love. I consider them equal. I've often said I wish I could combine both and have carnivals fast food for free on royal. When carnival gives me 25% off as a solo I'll book more often. But I was just on a 14 day carnival journey cruise in January and much enjoyed it. Great ports. I have seen several posts where people have booked mardi gras. Out of pc its competitive in pricing, jubilee out of Galveston to me not as competitive priced with my solo pricing. I just turned diamond on carnival so you know I sail both, just lately solo pricing royal was less out of texas .. pc maybe carnival will win.

I went to best buy recently and very few tvs on display I could view. I wound up buying a samsung I couldn't view they had in storage. Best buy is about the last place here they has any on display. I wanted to measure it would fit on some shelves and had to measure another and hope was the same. I wanted a better one than on display. It's hard here to go see tv display models any more I found out.

I just got told my comeuppance on the thread where I said I was surprised that quantum was doing short west coast cruises. Well obviously rcl has decided short cruises are more attractive and pushing them I was told, I'm not their target audience. My last cruise was on carnival for 14 days and it was a very nice cruise. I've sworn off carnival at least twice before, once when hurricane Ike wiped out Galveston and I was onboard conquest. Never say never. I turned diamond on carnival last month. At these prices I'll be having to be very choosy what I book. Moving to PC and PC prices are crazy, all of florida prices are high. I'll cruise less. Not completely quit ... but then i do admit i have 14 rcl booked.

Royal is taking newer ships on shorter itineraries to a all new level. Even I'm surprised and didnt thjnk royal could surprise. Too short. Waste of a nice new ship.

Did I bring my passport, no. The guy who left knows me well, has done quite a few transactions with me before. Showed a bunch of different IDs. Do i write checks, not very often. What was the amount of the last one. Idk. I have everything mostly on auto pay. How much ssn is deposited monthly. I havent looked since last year. The amount varys as medicare is subtracted. And medicare is based on how much i made. I guessed wrong lol. I dont check, i assume they figure it out and it changed last month. She finally said ok lol. She will put it thru in a couple of hours. It will be in by tomorrow. Good thing i went in early. Only 2 tellers and the other teller was taken up by a old lady in a wheelchair who had someone pushing her wanting to get into her box and didnt have any ID. Lol. ..and the line got longer and longer for a teller. Really there should be someone in the back to do stuff like this today. Was more of a hassle than I expected. I tried not to laugh when the old lady said a ID, no I dont carry a purse. You dont have a social security card or a ID, no. Those tellers are having a bad day.
