  1. Thank you! The dining apps don't appear to be correct very often. Enjoy the cruise. Dup=Duplicate--I asked the moderators to delete that thread.
  2. Tuscan Grill is off our list, three consecutive strikes and you are out. Long wait time to order, wrong orders, overcooked meat and pastas, some entrees swimming in sauce, cold veggies, wait staff that liked to chat with other wait staff, etc. And, those darn contoured knives that just roll off your plate no matter how you place them. Yes, all were reported the following day. One time they apologized.
  3. You would think they would put the two sets of days/fees in the same order/format. i.e. 30-0 Days 0-60 Days
  4. Have been reading a lot of negative comments about the new menus, cutbacks, and upcharges. Have several X cruises scheduled (one on Equinox) but have been to all the ports already. Thinking about cancelling them if the onboard experience is really going downhill. Last cruise on X was in March, it was OK, not great. We are Elite+, but that extra bag of laundry is not enough to keep us with X. Booked an Oceania cruise earlier this week. 😎
  5. Since there is so much "O" experience on this thread, I will ask the question here. Am looking at the 2024 Alaska to LA cruise. First time on O, but Elite + on Celebrity, have sailed numerous lines, including the R ships. Wondering if we should book now or wait until July. We do our own airlines. We have been to most of the ports before and usually do our own thing in port, not ship tours. Since we have lunches off the ship, the basic drink package doesn't seem to be of value. I think the Prestige daily cost is overkill for us. Probably will take the OBC and use it for drinks and grats (can we do that?). So, book now or wait until July? Thank you!
  6. When I was served my dinner last night at a local restaurant, I thought about you. It included succotash with black eye peas, onion, tomato, and OKRA! Very tasty. Sorry, I just had to show you...😁
  7. Where does one find current information--gratuity requirements, deposit and payment schedule, etc.? I didn't see it in the online brochure. Thank you!
  8. Hi Jim, Make a note of this. www.andbeyond.com Great safaris, and a lot of different locations. The Ngala Safari Lodge is a short flight from Johannesburg. You can do that before your cruises. Also, Cape Town is a great place to visit. 🦁
  9. I forgot to mention all the wonderful and extremely well kept plants in the Conservatory. This was the best butterfly "house" I have ever been to.
  10. We were just in Key West in March (Constellation). We have been there many times since 1985, by land and sea. We had never been to the Butterfly and Nature Conservatory, and it was totally awesome. We were in there about 45 minutes; it is not huge. The butterflies and birds were so beautiful. The butterflies would land on you, and as you left you had to shake your body to make sure you didn't have any on you as you went through the double set of exit doors. We walked from the ship, did lunch on the water across from the Conservatory, went there, and then walked back to the ship. Unfortunately, Key West has gotten too tourist oriented since we first started going. But this was a GREAT day!
  11. Haven't made it there...yet. We have been to a lot of places with minimal tourists. We used to charter the canal boats (DIY) and had wonderful adventures on the canals/rivers and doing all the locking ourselves.. Merci!
  12. What a nice thread. We haven't booked yet, but are looking. We are Celebrity Elite +, but that is losing steam. Have traveled on a few "R" ships before, even when they were Renaissance. Like the size and the clients. We have a sailboat so small heads (with showers) are not a problem. 😁 Thank y'all for your inputs!
  13. "Little French Village" pops up a few times. We spend a lot of time in France (mostly car trips)--care to share? Thank you for your review! Sante'
  14. On Celebrity Eclipse in early May. Ireland to Iceland (several stops) and back to numerous stops in the UK. Yes, it was cold. The wind/wind chill in Iceland was really uncomfortable and we ended up not being able to spend much time walking around the cities, waterfalls, etc., as we had planned.
  15. We want to be at sea on a real cruise ship, with a real balcony, wind in our hair, the smell of the sea, etc. We don't want to be on a giant inward looking resort ship with minimal outdoor areas for the common (non suite) folk. We don't gamble, go to shows, or use the pools. Major time is spent on our real balcony. Just recently we were on the Constellation and docked next to the Edge. It looked like a prison.
  16. Celebrity never acknowledged my two emails to the address listed on the final invoice. I went online to AMEX, answered their questions, and they credited my account immediately. Took about 3 minutes.
  17. So, that amount would be air credit per person? I am just trying to sort out the costs for planning purposes. We have a lot of FF miles to burn and usually stay near the departure location for several days before boarding. We also leave home out of a small airport (joint use military) so flight itinerary is important. Then there is O Life Ultimate and O Life Choice. I am assuming the Ultimate Offer is when they need to sell more cabins and has an expiration date. And, the Choice Offer is available all the time. Is that correct?
  18. Looking at the Oceania site to see what they comp you (air credit) if you do your own travel arrangements. I couldn't find an explanation. Help....
  19. A big prison with not a lot of outside facing areas for the normal folk.
  20. In Cartegena, Columbia just this past March 2023, we were docked next to the Edge. We were on the Constellation. The IV's looked like a prison to us.
  21. Thank you, I have never looked at that forum.
  22. Hello to All, Looks like we are in the "same boat"--about to be X refugees even though we are Elite+. One more Celebrity cruise on the books and two more Star Clippers (which we really like for the experience/ports/sailing). About 14 cruises on Star Clippers--a totally different type of cruise. We actually did sail on the R ships during Renaissance's time in the 90's. Such a bummer they went out of business with the 8 R ships. So, looking at O now. Did Azamara (R ship) about 8 years ago, and the Tahitian Princess (R ship) before Princess bailed out of Tahiti. Without going to the high, high end is anyone looking at other lines. Any words on Ponant? We are pretty laid back, don't like large crowds, well-traveled, self-sufficient, and like small boats. No casinos, shopping, etc. We like to feel like we are really at sea--views, smells, wind through our hair.
  23. It was just a head's up for you....😝
  24. We were on a Connie 11-night cruise in March. Although it sounded very good, the Braised Lamb in phyllo wasn't good and was way too salty. I couldn't eat it. As I recall, my entrees were substandard for three evening meals in the MDR.
