  1. Mahalo for your primo trip report! I grew up in Hawaii and when we visit Maui nowadays, we usually stay in the Kahana area. Enjoy the whale watching! 🐳🌴🧉
  2. Curious, who was the Cruise Director?
  3. February 10, 2024. Two and a half days in NOLA. Some categories sold out already.
  4. I believe they don't post them in the dailies anymore. All those types of meetings are posted on a board at Guest Relations--at least for my recent cruises.
  5. Be aware, there is MINIMAL avo on the bruschetta. ☹️ It was really dry!
  6. I actually have eaten iguana. A friend in Honduras made it in a light coconut sauce. Tasted like chicken. 😁
  7. Shivani is great! She served us almost daily on the Oct/Nov TA and she said she will still be onboard when we return in early March.
  8. I did read about the cost cutting measures, but I have not seen an update by a passenger on what the breakfast buffet looks like now.
  9. Oh my, I must have missed this. Will be on the Connie in March, with a stop in Columbia.
  10. They had all of those items on the Oct/Nov TA. And, the British breakfasts, Continental breakfasts, and lots of pastries and fruit. Plenty!
  11. We were in #6033 on the TA and in March we will be in #6035. Love those cabins. Our loveseat was well worn, but the balconies made up for that! 😉 Unfortunately, in April, those cabins will be reclassified and cost more $$$.
  12. Just did the Rome to Tampa TA on Connie this past October (and a few times before). Enjoyed it and only had @ 1600 PAX. Doing the 11 night Ultimate Caribbean and The Americas, 6 March 2023. Looks like it is almost totally booked. Following along for your inputs and thank you in advance. Enjoy!
  13. Yes, they do. We have seen that plenty of times. On our last cruise (TA from Rome to Tampa Oct/Nov 2022) a table of 8 sat next to us. It was the Captain's dinner. They all ordered the Lobster entree as an appetizer, and then all had the Filet Mignon.
  14. Most times, the Captain's don't have the option to wait if missing cruisers are on their own private outings. In many busy ports, overtime at the dock costs thousands of dollars per minute, screws up arrivals/departures of other marine traffic, and dock worker's schedules/overtime. Logistics is a big factor: scheduling the delivery, loading and unloading of supplies. In smaller ports, not quite as intense.
  15. Just be prepared. Either use theirs if it works or have bottles to refill from the pop top cans. End of story.
  16. We were last there in 2011 off the Star Flyer Sailing Yacht (Star Clipper line). Sounds like you were at the same port location. They had just started the birds and port shop. We agreed to a taxi fare to the Old City, however, once we were totally out of the building, there was a BIG SIGN that told you what the taxi fares should be to different locations. So don't commit to any fares before you reach that sign. We had quite an enjoyable day. Walked the streets and fort, took lots of pictures, and had lunch in town. We were not overly pressured by street hawkers. It was very comfortable. I had spent much time in Columbia and Peru during my Air Force days doing the drug wars. Quite different now, even with local issues. You never know, just keep situational awareness.
  17. We were on the Connie TA this Fall, and yes, the water was in a can with a pop top. Made in Italy, so maybe it depends on where your cruise goes and gets supplied. We took a few water bottles on board and filled them with the canned water as needed, especially for port stops.
  18. We did the recent Connie TA from Rome to Tampa and are on the March 6th sailing of the Connie to most of the same ports as y'all. The more reviews, the better, for all of us on the following same itinerary. ☺️
  19. I don't think she is Captaining on Solstice. Just along for the ride with the CEO and doing some travel talks to the passengers. Maybe Celebrity thinks she will attract more potential cruisers. From all the advertising, looks like passenger count is lower than they expected on a lot of cruises/locations.
  20. "Situational awareness" is a good old military phrase we used during hostilities (and other times). It applies in the real world, too.
  21. It's amazing how many women carry their purse everywhere onboard (and I am a woman). We see this on every cruise. We use the safe for passports, wallets, and cash. I am not into many jewels. Electronics and prescription drugs we just leave in the drawers or on a charger. First "Celebrity" cruise was on the Chandris Amerikanis in 1985. No problems at all. We are in our 60's and 70's.
  22. I think they are getting rid of paper invites/notifications (except the shops 🤪 ).
  23. I think I have read that the cabins are the same size, but there are also some closet spaces for cabin steward supplies which cause some balconies to be wider.
  24. Does anyone have a good picture of the whole aft, Sunset Verandas, on the S class ships? Knowing some cabins are numbered differently in that class, we are looking at Equinox. A picture like prmssk posted on mickeysgal thread about Millennium aft cabins.
