  1. It isn't a breach of the act.as the disembark is in a foreign port. An early disembark into a US port would be restricted. However, it does require individual approval. In order to request an early disembark, I think your friend first needs to be booked, which will complicate things further. The port also needs to be capable of processing the entry into Mexico for your friend.
  2. Generally good. There are 5 of them in Sydney that I know of, and we have only stayed at the one in Sussex Street
  3. Lets keep everyone guessing on what the rego number is. How hard can it be.
  4. Belmont 16 Footers? I would only bet a schooner on it though.
  5. We have done the same in Sydney to rest-up for late flights, but just book direct with the hotel.
  6. Has been like a lake the times we crossed it. Can be potentially rough, but normally a straight line from Albany to Adelaide is in comparatively shallow water and the really rough cells pass a few hundred miles to the south. Those same cells often smash into the bottom of NZ.
  7. Another alternate is to Northbound from Vancouver to Anchorage/Whittier/Seward, then to train or bus up to Denali, spend X number of days between there & Talkeetna, then swap ships and cruise back south to Vancouver. A shorter version could be to fly to Anchorage including whatever number of hops, spend time in Denali, then just do the southbound to Vancouver. There are so many options, and many of the cruiselines link all this into easy-to-book cruise tours.
  8. How very peculiar. I just scored the same at home, while it loaded at work. The address is the AU page. I initially found it via google and not a link on the Princess parent page. The google page description showed a 31st October expiry, while the link I placed opened to a 1st Nov to 31st March T&C page. I can try again at work tomorrow to see if that will load and I can take a screen cap. For now, it is starting to look like the door prizes will become a separate casino operated game going forward, with those already having it in their package allowed to keep their "free" entry.
  9. Both Les's and our adventures were very much washing machine. When our oceans go feral, they can compete with anywhere. Les's 12 metre day on the previous Regal Princess was as wild as anything I have seen.
  10. I remember watching the cams. We also had similar to the 30', into the tail of a hybrid low between Sydney & Noumea. It was a suitably awesome time to have an aft facing cabin. Ye olde Pacific Pearl had a good time in the Bay of Biscay a few years back.
  11. Wouldn't that give you the #@%#! Part of the "deep clean" of the ship isn't actually cleaning, but local health authorities inspecting to ensure that the proper hygiene steps are in place. Much of the deep cleaning on the ship will already be happening on a daily basis.
  12. Yes, there was a bit of a shopping village a mile or so from the chateau. It was called Laggan's, or something like that. They were fresh and edible, but we had friends that talked them up as something special - maybe they hadn't eaten in days.
  13. Also I noted from the fine print in the T&C's on the cabin TV. It says the door prize competition expired on 31st October 2023, yet we boarded on 4th November. While I figure they just haven't updated their files, I would be curious to see what happens with those terms on upcoming cruises. The website version has updated - Princess Prizes™ Terms & Conditions - Princess Cruises As I look on the Princess site today, the "Prizes" feature is no longer listed as a premier package benefit. When I check out the personaliser, our next premier package cruise says we have the door prizes. They keep adding what we don't want and taking away the bits that seem more relevant. I think I am going to ditch our upcoming packages, or at least drop our remaining premier back to a plus.
  14. We went to a bakery at the shopping village near Lake Louise with the hot tip about them being the best sausage rolls ever. It was a bad tip, and a much longer way to the shop for a dud sausage roll.
  15. I thought it would be possible to leave a review at Princess Cruises - Excursion - Light to Light Walk but there is no link there. maybe Princess chat can help? I am not getting email from Princess it seems, as no review link for us. I did do an unsubscribe from P&O when their PVPs started emailing direct, apparently oblivious to us booking through an agent. I am thinking the unsubscribe might have also work on the shared brands working out of North Sydney.
  16. We place one of those cushions in front of them and that usually does the trick. That is till Barb opens the bathroom door and turns the light on.
  17. Maybe we could all chip in and buy a 10 seater and a permanent parking spot at BICT. It is likely though, after doing a cost/benefit analysis that it will be an option that is too expensive to bother with. I suspect that is the same rule of thumb that the QLD government has already considered for public transport.
  18. And for those wondering, it was obvious soon after boarding, that Majestic arrived in a much healthier state than last season. Masks were worn by a small % of passengers, and I applaud those taking extra precaution if they need to. Very little coughing/wheezing/sneezing/sniffling was apparent. Much like olden times.
  19. If I choose a bad T/A, as I have done in the past, I also knew who to blame. It has gotten harder. A lot of the bigger agencies have switched away from allocating you an agent to contact, which is understandable with the experienced agents lost to the industry during the big reset. ------------- So how do you find the best? A couple of thoughts - Phone a friend. By that i mean someone you know and trust, not an online stranger. - The best clickbait specials usually have conditions, and have no assurance the agent/agency is as good as the price - The cruise industry has associations that hold awards every year. While not all good agents/agencies bother with being nominated, those that are usually tick all the right boxes. This is a general opinion. I am not looking for an agent and don't have a clue on who the more recent nominees are.
  20. More than happy with the choice at the Friday afternoon/evening markets at Chatswood Mall. Really convenient to the station, and we grabbed some drinks from the Woolies Metro to wash down some yummy crepes.
  21. Current for Majestic at OPT on Saturday 4th November. It could vary by ship, date, terminal, but this is what we had last Saturday. There was no dedicated blue lane/green lane. All passengers headed straight to the check-in counter. Check-in was done and then they collected your medallions from the table behind, much like they used to do for cruise cards. Those from North America that already had their medallions followed the same path to check-in. We had three different versions last year, and one of those was via a blue lane to collect medallions prior to check-in.
  22. As part of Premier, you get a "medallion device" which is currently a sports slip. At present it is a nice metallic blue. Also as part of Premier, you get registered in the door prize game. On the night before Eden we won a door prize. Eureka, I won a sports clip for my medallion - clear with a choice of coloured ring. I found it hard to hide my excitement that you get one of these with your package and the chance to win another one. The photo gallery staff didn't see the irony of this and thought I was being ungrateful. They are $AU12 to purchase. It was really hard to find where to claim the prize, so we dropped it in the lap of the suite concierge (he was awesome BTW). One of the other guests in the lounge was talking about a free cruise, but thought it was a casino related freeby. Once guided through the app, turns out they won a cruise - 7 nights in a balcony cabin via the cabin door prize (1:100,000).
