  1. We had an arrival delay several years ago due to weather. My number one advice to anyone is to take several extra days of necessary meds with you. We couldn’t get back to Port Canaveral for 3 extra days. Some people got off at our stop in Mexico to fly home. m
  2. We’ve been in dozens of connecting cabins and I’ve never had an issue. Never heard the people next-door, because of the connecting door. Some ships have different furniture to make room for the connecting door area. For example, there might be a large chair in a connecting room versus a loveseat or couch in a non connecting room. I don’t care if the room is connecting, but lately, the connecting rooms have been more expensive than the non-connecting rooms so there would be no reason for me to book one, unless I needed it. m
  3. Regarding Izumi, were you able to use your Bogo for hibachi, sushi or either one. thx.
  4. I've read to use a Zip Lock bag inside the safe and place everything inside the bag, so nothing is loose in the safe. This was mentioned after a fire on one of the ships. M
  5. You will be billed daily gratuities to your account. You can add cash to your account at guest services. It will go against any outstanding charges, not specifically gratuities. M
  6. I'd take the Beach Club. Private beach, pool and a nice lunch, over simply a beach bed. Don't understand the draw of the beach bed. Personally, I don't like to lie flat and there are tons of free loungers and umbrellas all over Coco Cay. M
  7. Not in my experience. One voucher, one drink. M
  8. The first time we went there, we didn’t know we needed a lunch reservation. We got there about 10:00 and the earliest reservation for lunch we could get was 1:30. Worked out fine as we were flexible. m
  9. Diamond is 4, diamond plus is 5, and Pinnacle is 6. Many refer to them as diamond drinks, even though they may be eligible for 5 or 6. m
  10. Yes, you can use them any place on Coco Cay or Labadee. m
  11. I guess I'm past the age of inappropriate behavior that needs explaining. I wonder why anyone who wants to party that hard would want to sail RCCL? (a line for families or older adults) As for the pizza, at the Hideaway Beach prices I'm hearing, they better be flying it in from New York. The pizza on board is almost not worth eating, even for free. Enjoy Hideaway beach. M
  12. What am I missing? The new adult beach club with a fee seems a lot like the party pool that is already there and free. Generally, at the free pool there is loud music, lots of adults around the bar, and a party atmosphere. In fact, we generally avoid the area. Snack shack food is available for free at both locations, so the only addition at the new club is Pizza. I'm happy to stay under an umbrella at Chill Beach. M
  13. There is a suggested fancy dress on Jewel, but not enforced. We just returned from 17 nights on the Jewel. We had three formal type dress evenings. The dress was all over the spectrum from tuxedos to jeans. You can wear whatever you want to the dining room or specialty restaurants. Enjoy the cruise. m
  14. Paying first night and dining on another has been approved for years. Every once in a while they say no. Just reading there is some recent kickback on Wonder. Haven't heard that it is a problem on any other ship. Hope it works out - otherwise celebrate your BD a day early in the specialty restaurant and then on your actual BD in the dining room. Two celebrations! M
  15. Visiting family in Manhattan recently and someone was walking their pig in the dog park! M
  16. Thanks - interesting to learn that. We were not aware of that at all. We are eligible for specialty restaurant breakfast, but used the MDR upon occasion. Yes , I recall those happy hour vouchers (A nice treat) , but I was referring to the daily/all day/anywhere vouchers, as I often use one for specialty coffee. M
  17. Sadly, Guess they are back to the old original day one and day rules. Hooked is excluded. We were recently on Mariner, and even on that ship the letter spelled out the exclusions, including Hooked, which is not even on the ship! Hope you enjoy the dinners. M
  18. On a recent walk through WJ, (can't recall the ship) there were small cups of pre-made smoothies at breakfast. They seemed popular. M
  19. Pre covid, or YEARS ago? I haven't been aware of a D/D+ section for at least 10 years. The best perk of the section was that specialty coffees were served ( complimentary) as opposed to paying in the regular section . This is WAY before daily vouchers. M
  20. Take a look at the Loyalty ambassador or D concierge letter that will be in the cabin. It might say "dinner" and it does exclude a few places. We had no problem using it for a night other than 1 or 2 but that was back in March. Rules change often, sometimes from sailing to sailing, so it may have changed. We've had a set of BOGO rules for the first leg of a B2B, but then a different set for the second leg. So hard to plan. M
  21. On many cruises, not just TA or repositioning, guests can PAY on night one or two and use the reservation another evening. It varies from ship to ship, but we find it is allowed more often than not. Simply ask. M
