  1. My sister and I book a beach house every summer for our families (12 total), this summer it’s $1500 a night before taxes and fees, I’ll be cooking, cleaning, and doing laundry every day. It has really increased since Covid.
  2. The drink package costs about $20 a day, a cocktail averages $12, so if you drink more than 1 drink a day the package is worth it. Didn’t realize the $2 bottle of wine is gone, but being able to bring as many bottles of wine onboard for $0 corkage is a huge upgrade.
  3. Yes, folks wouldn’t be happy to find traces of nuts in what is supposed to be a nut free section. Lots of celiac in my family, small amounts “count.”
  4. I do not understand why they are so bad, especially now with rideshare competition! I think most of them are ancient, and were ancient 30 years ago when there wasn’t a choice. I do think the rideshares have become more expensive and fares are creeping up, but better than taxis.
  5. And the pizza placed on the buffet is for folks who are waiting their turn to grab a slice, the person who pre-ordered should have waiting for their pizzas to be ready. Everyone is eating the free pizza.
  6. Why do you think they care? We have 5 kids so always have to book 2 cabins and then go to guest services to get extra cards. Representatives explain when booking that a parent needs to be booked in each cabin but it doesn’t matter who stays in which cabin.
  7. We have a ton of pizzerias here, the one that doesn’t deliver always has a huge line, if you place an order by phone you still have to wait in the same line as folks who walked up to buy a slice. If the pie you ordered is still in the oven you can’t just buy a slice pie sitting out. Well I guess you cancel the pie you ordered and ask for a slice pie, but you can’t cut the line.
  8. No, incorrect, the gratuity is on the price if one purchases the package, not on a drink limit.
  9. I no idea why you keep bringing up 15 drinks? Drinks are $10+ each, you can drink 100+ a day on NCL, the daily gratuity for those 100 drinks will be around $20, regardless of how many you drink. There is NO limit, you can order 2 at a time, there is no time limit in between drinks. Why bring up 15 of anything?
  10. The mid week bag is usually around $30, you will pay $0 for it. It’s not that big.
  11. I think you are confused, if you have the free at sea UDP, you are charged 20% of the cost of the package, which works out to around $20 pp pd, less than 2 drinks. If you don’t have the package, you will be charged for each drink plus 20% of the cost of that drink (or is it 18%?). Anyway if you drink more than 1 cocktail a day it’s worth it.
  12. Haven’t cruised since 2016 and excursions were charged to my credit card at the time off booking.
  13. But the OP says the insurance wasn’t paid for until final payment.
  14. I think the issue is that the insurance wasn’t actually purchased until final payment, after the diagnosis. I believe if you canceled your cruise before final payment the insurance wouldn’t have been purchased.
  15. Well on my first couple of NCL cruises, there wasn’t a UBP. On the 3rd, there was, but you had to pay for the package and the gratuities (like most lines). On our last NCL cruise, we only had to pay the gratuities, but not the package. Plus, now we can take unlimited amounts of wine without paying corkage, which most comparable lines don’t offer (I always paid corkage for wine to drink in the balcony).
  16. But I’d rather pay $20 a day vs. $70 or so on another line.
  17. Get there as early as possible, buy water before you get there, eat a big breakfast on the ship, get loungers/locker, start with big slides, get a tube for the crazy lazy River (will take you to slides), we would walk through the dig before going back to the ship. There is a mobile app with an interactive map.
  18. I remember asking the pediatrician about when I could stop with my oldest, she told me soap and water were fine, babies need clean, not sterile. The more kids I had the more bottles I bought because it’s was easiest just to wash them in the dishwasher.
  19. I’ve never heard of a 15 minute rule on NCL, is it in writing?
