  1. What does being low maintenance have anything to do with what you are saying about cost? Interesting you say you are retired on this post, yet you talk about going to work on others. When was the supposed $99 cruise and what ship? Find a cruise line that will give you twice a day service or book a cabin that includes it if it is that important to you.
  2. Captain Stig told us that he is doing the first three months and the last three months of the World Cruise as he has a lot of experience with ice. He also said that everyone on the whole cruise will come back officially bi-polar. 😄
  3. We have always stacked our dishes on the vanity. The cabins have limited counters as it is, no need to leave things strewn about. Two wet towels in a corner or hanging where they were to begin with don’t bother me. To each their own….
  4. We have been doing dinner in the WJ for many, many years and have never seen raw meat displayed like that, especially chicken. I don’t think they would pass an inspection if they allowed passengers to touch raw meat. That is a picture found on the internet to suit his narrative.
  5. That is a picture he found on the internet. Not a Royal ship.
  6. What am I doing that the steward used to do?
  7. You are paying thousands of dollars and are paying for a service. If the timing is not working for me, I am going to ask for it to be changed. Whether that is being "nice" to the cabin steward or not is irrelevant.
  8. What ship is this you are talking about? This is definitely not the Allure which is the ship the poster is asking about. Park Cafe and WJ do not alternate times on Allure and definitely no pizza in Park Cafe on Allure, it is in Sorrentos.
  9. You do not need to change your schedule for the cabin steward, you should have told them what your dining schedule was and when you would be out of your cabin. If evening service was such an issue for you, ask to change to morning. Towels is another easy fix, ask for two sets of towels. We asked day one and had two sets all week long. We easily pile our dishes in a corner of the vanity and trash was only full on one day. We had no issue at all with service once a day and actually preferred it. We don't need our cabin straightened up, we don't leave it a mess. We saw our steward in the corridor and he would ask if we were all set. We aren't high maintenance and found it was not a big deal for us to have once a day service.
  10. They didn't remove any outlets from the cabins, they just added what is in the picture. Having no US plugs would make no sense.
  11. Yes, they are not USB-C plugs. We had both types of cables with us, so I used the older type by the bed and DH used the other type with the outlet at the vanity.
  12. Yes, just European plugs. Just bring an adaptor. I actually only used the two USB plugs though.
  13. I did not see any evidence of laundry facilities when I was on Serenade last week, but they could easily have been started already. We did have the new plugs and USB ports beside our bed. Mattress was new and bedframe was higher. Didn't like the new mattress, it is very firm and the two halves do not stay together at all. Our refrigerator had not been replaced yet. Linens are new, as were the towels.
  14. We have not had issues at Cape Liberty either. Usually a very quick, organized process.
  15. We ended up with about 50 kids. Little ones started earlier than normal. Not as many older kids this year. Very polite kids this year, which is nice to see.
  16. We are not new cruisers and know how things work. We also know if everyone in our waiter's section arrives early and we arrive late, we will wait a long time to order while the waiter and assistant waiter get and deliver their first course. Coming a few minutes earlier was not a big deal. Communicating the change in dining time should have been communicated prior to us boarding though.
  17. Just as well my car isn't in the garage anyway as it decided it wanted a longer vacation and is dead in the driveway. DH offered to come home to jumpstart it but he was going to have to miss a meeting to do it, so I called AAA. Estimated time for service was 1 hour 29 minutes. I am about to hit 3 hours but at least the guy is on the way, I am tracking his truck now.
  18. The shuttles are pretty frequent. Depending on the terminal the ship is at, National is not a far walk either. They have weird days and hours though. We come into Port Canaveral on a port of call frequently and National is not typically open the day Anthem or Oasis come in. We use Avis instead.
  19. We have never put a car in our garage. We have a one car garage that is about a foot off of a four to five foot high curved stone wall that borders our steep driveway. At the time we bought the house, we had two large vehicles that would have been a beast to get in and out of the garage with two other vehicles in the driveway, so we never tried. We keep our snow blowers, lawn mower, bikes, yard stuff, camping stuff etc in the garage.
  20. Much cheaper to do two one way rentals than to rent and leave a car at the port the whole cruise. No one way fee for car rentals in Florida.
