  1. We are looking forward to this ship as we aren't big venue - crowds- cacophony folks. We like the look of the visual small spaces with gathering areas and the wrap around decks, multiple pools, shaded areas And we like the ship within a ship thing. Part of the complaining could be from the "we always did it this way" mindset-- of larger venues ? idk. Interesting that Virgin went this way as well. It didn't sound like this guy used his butler service of Haven either. A thought on the entertainment-- Haven't seen the dailies-- If the Syd's and comedy club, and shows in the main theater are all going at once--plus some lounge acts, then there are plenty of places for folks to go each evening and fewer/shorter lines? Maybe it isn't about the actual spaces yet maybe there aren't enough acts going at the same time? Can someone speak to that? Was surprised the Local is open 24/7. God bless those people.
  2. @Two Wheels Only Right That is the risk when you ask a pubic forum for advice...and while being helpful, no one here has the full details. I like to think most CCers do their best to be helpful and kind
  3. @JGRUSS02 how is the noise from general traffic etc on that wide promenade below? Just watched a vid where the reviewer said folks complained about the noise on the balconies from the people/loungers/pools etc on the wide promenade. Guessing it depends on age of pax and whether there ae tons of kids/short booze cruise ot what have you
  4. Confused. OP said they chose the room-- and the other non accessible rooms were more money AND says they were "assigned" the room. I thought the cruise lines required you checked a box saying you needed the accessible room--and had to prove it. Provide state approved HC status no?
  5. The Drop side port side, and the 2 twisted ones starboard. Wondering what kind of noise- yelling etc nd when they run. Guessing if you dont hear it this week--that its likely not much of an issue
  6. Arthur was an outstanding Asst Maitre D when we sailed B2B on Merav in 2020. He was then going to the Med? yes? Or did he go to one of the newer Sea___ ships in recent past? We've had outstanding YC staff and crew with only2 exception--a grumpy M'D and a grumpy Som. The Grumpy M'D was on a B2B2B2B and so we got a better one after first week or so...And the grumpy Som warmed up once he realized we were going to be there awhile (ha) and we knew a little something and would use his talents Looking fwd to our saiings. Less than 30 days. Yay
  7. @graphicguy From your pic, it looks like you are port side... deck 12-ish Can you speak to the slide issue please during the sailing at some point? Do they run that thing sea days/port days? Curious about noise (though realize its variable based on age of pax, etc) TYIA
  8. end of 2025...is a looong way away if the "Gem" post is reliable
  9. Accessible rooms are made available to those with proven accessibility issues. Does the line ask for proof of need? Yes. Can you get bumped if you are without need, yes. Check Terms of Carriage and ask your Travel Agent
  10. Do we have any updates on YC Dir, Head Butler, Maitre d, Som etc for the YC on sailings out of FL (various ships? )
  11. Right What I am wondering is that the Daily mentions the largest library "at sea" and using libby-- see right hand column --left page of his Daily pic post #236. We sail Prima on a TA later in spring and just curious about this feature
  12. @mking8288 @graphicguy Do you know if we already use libby on ipad or cell -- can we access the digital on the NCL prima? I see it on the Daily? TYIA
  13. @graphicguy Looking fwd to hearing your thoughts of Prima Haven vs MSC YC (Merv/Seashore/Divinia) and X Retreat. Hopefully the ship clears/zeros out quickly and you can board sooner than later
  14. Travel does that to us doesn't it. My kinda gal Bon voyage. Looking fwd to more details
  15. Interesting While sailing Carnival several years back, our tween got onto a tender and went ashore - having quite the adventure. I think it was Belize. We had said that we as a family were NOT going ashore- having been outside the port gates once before. At that previous visit we had hoped to get iguana for lunch (yes its a thing in season) and to see a very small church that had been planted there. A nice man approached us and told us were were in a dangerous area and to go back to the port...which we did. We did not know about said tween's adventure until years later.🤯 Seriously still shocked. I think the cruise lines have been under a lot of pressure for pax safety as every year pax go missing
  16. TYVM The MSC ones were lovely Celebrity's link was an easy add. No reason to not have them except money: use of room, and a staff person to greet. Only MSC's reception was a full on food/bev. Amazingly good and generous
  17. Is there a formal link system for arranging a Meet and Greet on the MSC sailings? Know we have been to some private receptions and don't recall if those were voyager status receptions or Cruise Critic. They had cocktails, snacks etc. Very nice. Does this still exist?
  18. Times have changed. "back in the day", the kids in Kids club when they could check themselves out and go to arcade, we'd get a walkie-talkie alert from them where they were headed. And they'd come to us with a piece of pizza in one hand and an ice cream cone in the other. Honestly-- most of the kids were far better behaved than many adults both in manners and behavior. 🤣
  19. @MadisonBay Loved your commentary and helpful framework. We are comparing MSC s YC, our Regent experience and upcoming Haven... See you are headed on a TP to Japan- We were booked on Regent for the TP to Japan a few years out and to sail 2021,, then when Japan didn't allow spectators for the Olympics, our TP Vancover/Alaska/Japan was cancelled by Regent. No price protections/stateroom protections to move the sailing etc, nothing to incentivize rebooking. 😞 You will have an outstanding time Glad to read you had such a positive experience in Haven re service. We are looking fwd to the sailing.
  20. In our experience...(living and traveling overseas) there is plenty of fleecing of the tourists vs the local pricing in many parts of the world..so ok--no "tips" necessary.. yet the locals don't pay nearly what is charged during "season" OTOH-- many "cultures" do not tip, and "pride" themselves on it--and scoff at those who do tip... yet many of the locals/services in the 3rd world are Not paid a living wage... Generosity is never wrong.
