  1. Also join the Carnival Club on line, which is what I did. I eventually got a good solo balcony offer. Be prepared to book your cruise closer to departure.
  2. Her major injuries are internal, but she is improving thank you. The girls have been taking her for a walk in a dog pram each day. We have an appointment with ICU tomorrow, so are hoping for good news.
  3. Thank you Leigh. Dog was in intensive care as she had trouble breathing because of trauma to her lungs. We now have her home in a new cage and a dog pram and are hoping for the best. That is a long wait for repairs until just before Easter. I hope repairer gives you a discount seeing you have to pay the excess.
  4. So sorry to hear of your car accident, Leigh. What a shock! Glad you weren't hurt, but sorry the driver didn't stop. While we were at the Chinchilla Melon Festival recently, our dog jumped the dog sitter's fence and was hit by a car, which didn't stop A lovely lady in a taxi saw what happened and stopped and rescued our dog from the road. She phoned my younger daughter in Vic. and me and we contacted the dog sitter who was nearby. She rushed dog to Vet Hospital. Example of the worst and best of people!
  5. We had a pastie from our favourite local bakery for breakfast this morning. My girlfriend did a day bus trip to the Gold Coast yesterday. They were delighted to stop at Yatala Pies on the way home. Until reminded, I forget just how much pies and pasties are part of our every day lifestyle.
  6. Hope you don't have a long wait/can use the Lounge. We could use the lounge on way over, but not on the way back. With a five hour wait on Christmas Day, I was able to talk my way in to the lounge on a quiet day.
  7. Bon Voyage. I'm excited for you. This is really a once in a lifetime experience!
  8. What is the current situation in NZ following the cyclone damage? Are there people still unaccounted for? Later - 7.30 Report on now saying people are unaccounted for. The damage being shown is horrific. I feel so sorry for the people affected by this cyclone.
  9. visitnsw.com During our visit to this beautiful region, we saw kangaroos on a beach and in a small town, lots of beautiful birds in a lagoon on the beachfront at Bermagui, and a mother and baby whale at Eden, near the wharf. We stayed at Merimbula, Bermagui, and Pretty Beach. We ate fresh seafood every day. This region would be perfect for overseas visitors to experience Australia.
  10. I am very familiar with the coastline between Qld. and Sydney, however I've only toured the coastline from Sydney to Vic border once. It was a delightful surprise, such a beautiful region.
  11. I would think if you took ashore sealed packages of cookies you bought in NZ at another port that wouldn't be an item you would need to declare. You could keep NZ receipt with cookies. The Auths. would be concerned about bringing foreign food in to NZ, not NZ food.
  12. Sadly the number of dead following the Cyclone has now risen to 11, per NZ News.
  13. Merimbula, Sapphire Coast, NSW is currently being featured on Channel 7 - what a beautiful place. Sounds like a good place to see whales and dolphins. Could passengers on cruise ships stopped at Eden for long enough, visit here? Is this where your daughter lives Les?
  14. Thanks for sharing what was in the ramican. Sounds delicious.
  15. What a delicious Valentines Day meal in a beautiful setting! Love the crockery.
  16. I have just returned from Hobart, Tasmania for the Australian Wooden Boat Festival. On arrival by plane, security were at the exit with those cute little sniffer dogs. Whilst I waited for my daughter on a later delayed flight, I watched the sniffer dogs sniff all the suitcases as they came out for collection. Good exercise for the dogs walking against the flow. Tasmania has some of the world's most stringent biosecurity requirements. nre.tas.gov.au
  17. I( have just returned from the Australian Wooden Boat Festival in Hobart. There was a different cruise ship in port every day. On Monday, there were two ships, but I couldn't see the name of the one berthed around the corner. It was wonderful to see all these ships. Each left at 4 pm with the loud blowing of their horns. At 3 pm yesterday, all the small wooden boats commenced their departure from the wharf. It was amazing to see the big cruise ship sail through the departing flotilla of boats. I hope some of the passengers got to enjoy this wonderful bi-annual festival while they were in Hobart.
  18. Yes exclusive email offer for their best past guests for an inside cabin for 5th and 12th February, until 31st January..
  19. You must have been disappointed to not be able to use your balcony because it was too cold and too windy. Maybe isolation would have been more bearable if you could have used your balcony. I was shocked to learn that the lady I sat next to each night at dinner tested positive when she disembarked from our GBR Luminosa cruise. Fortunately, the other five didn't catch Covid, but it is difficult to avoid exposure on a cruise.
  20. Thank you for photos of a girl enjoying the flooding. Smart move to not attempt to go to Elton John Concert. I was surprised to see how many people were there prior to the concert's cancellation.
  21. I wonder how many cruise passengers were on the two airplanes which turned around after the closure of Auckland Airport? My thoughts are with people of Auckland experiencing torrential rain and local flooding.
