Part of the problem in Brisbane is the cruiselines didn't advertise their cruises early enough. Then, when they started cruising, they changed the itineraries, due to Covid. I'd love to cruise again from Brisbane, but I have other plans booked until winter. Then the ships will be gone north!
I think the Lions Club and Rotary do a great service for the Community. Sadly my friend's husband's Rotary Club is closing this year because of lack of younger members. They always put on an Australia Day function, with my friend providing the Damper.
That must have been a special day, Last year I attended a ceremony at the Royal Adelaide Show, which was very moving.
I used to love Melbourne's Australia Day celebrations, when I visited the Australian Open each year. I'd enjoy visiting Government House, supporting local charities and seeing all the old cars.
I'm so sorry you had such a terrible flight home from Singapore. Sounds like a nightmare. I haven't flown with QANTAS overseas for years, as so many other airlines are superior. In addition, QANTAS is no longer my first choice of airline in Australia. QANTAS needs a new Leadership Team.
There must be a demand for them, with the Hot Cross Bun season being continuously extended. I agree it would be nice to have fruit buns available all year.
Interested to see Bernard Walz played the piano on your cruise. I fly to Sydney several times a year to see his "Good Old Days Concerts" for Seniors at the Sydney Town Hall. I think he is a brilliant pianist and entertainer.
I'm wondering whether it is wise to be booking cruises two years away, when there are still changes to itineraries. Hopefully there will be last minute specials when cruising is more settled.
Glad you enjoyed your day tour. I agree a good driver makes all the difference. Was the ice cream delicious? NZ makes good ice cream. Is this your last week? Enjoy!
Is Qantas still Australia's national airline? I have been a Qantas ff for many years. The offers I have received from Qantas lately have been for overseas holidays. Where are the Australian travel specials?
Pity to not visit Wellington, as it is such an interesting port, with so much to see and do there. A highlight was a visit to Parliament House, the Beehive. Free daily one hour guided tours begin on the hour at the Visitor Centre. I was fascinated by building methods taken to make the building withstand earthquakes.
Well those people didn't earn their money last year. Whilst waiting for information on future cruises from Brisbane, people made other plans. Then when they did start cruising, they kept changing the itineraries.
