  1. One of my favorite websites is cruisetimetables.com. You can choose by departure port, ports of call (cruise to..), ship…and of course, time of year. Choose a departure port and time of year, and see who is sailing and their itinerary. Or choose places you would like to visit and see who is calling there. Depending on your wallet, premium and luxury lines are more likely to have voyages that start and end in different ports, and often don’t repeat. EM
  2. Well, the first thing to do is Google small ship cruises. Another suggestion is the website cruisemapper.com. Once there, click on ‘ships’ and you will get a drop-down list on the left, of many cruise lines and companies. many you will not have heard of. Some smaller ships are listed under several lines. Many are expedition ships. And most are quite expensive, and require a level of attire that is not ragged. EM
  3. That is the feature of the BL cabins. All BL cabins have them. EM
  4. You lose it in the depth because the tub is lengthwise, facing you as you enter the bathroom. Makes it unable to hold a full couch, thus the loveseat. But since there are no more than two in the cabin, you hardly notice. EM
  5. Keep in mind that food is very expensive in Japan just for ordinary stuff, and for more high end, such as steak and lobster, the Japanese might be excused for ordering more than one... Many years ago I had a roommate whose parents used to host company employees from overseas. They had one Japanese fellow arrive, and they took him to Shoney's (a family restaurant, for those not familiar). He ordered the largest steak on the menu and made multiple trips to the salad bar. He just couldn't believe how inexpensive the food was (and for that meal, he wasn't paying). EM
  6. Yes, the cabin interior is smaller because the tub takes more space in the bathroom than the shower. The cabin is still roomy. This is 14148 on Seaside: This is 14118, no tub EM
  7. I think you should ask this on the Ports of Call board for Bermuda. Welcome to Cruise Critic. EM
  8. I seem to remember that most knee walkers have a small platform/seat that the knee rests on, but you could sit on it for a rest period. EM
  9. Diagram of BL2/3 with built in bunks:
  10. On Divina, those cabins have a big chair. On Seaside they had a loveseat instead of a full couch. They only book two into those cabins. EM
  11. I think most people enter that club via stairs from the deck above. There are also OV cabins on deck 4, although they are called Interior with French Door (but it’s now a window and views a lifeboat). EM
  12. I have three documents that attest to my birth. The one my parents got when I was born says Notification of Birth Registration. It has the most info on it but it does say that it is not a birth certificate but can be used as such. It got me my first passport and into the army twice. When I was getting ready to apply for social security I decided to get an official birth certificate. What came was the short form, just name and date of birth, and it is titles Certification of Birth. I later got the long form, which is the same except it includes parents names. EM
  13. Maybe you could try a peanut butter sandwich…. Stop at the first truck stop and get her a sandwich. EM
  14. I’ll make a blanket statement and say that OV, balconies, and suites the third person will have a sofa bed, fourth person will have a bunk above the sofa bed. Inside cabins will only have bunks. If you look at the deck plans there are symbols that tell you if it is a sofa bed or bunk or both. EM
  15. To illustrate the best viewing areas on the Grand class, this is Caribbean Princess transiting the Panama Canal this past Monday. You can see the viewing area above the bridge, and the dark line around the bow is the upper portion of the Promenade, wraparound. Covered, as there may be moisture in Alaska…. EM
  16. There is a member, Hlitner, currently on Westerdam for something like 40 some days, mostly in Japan. Plus he has done some time in Japan pre-cruise. he is doing a Live From on the HAL board. Interesting that he cruises a lot, but can tour on a low budget. I suggest you go read his thread, name in thread title is Hank. He has visited or will visit many of your ports. EM
  17. This is not just Royal. I haven’t sailed Royal, but have a difficult time trying to book solo on MSC, Celebrity, and even Carnival. The closer in the cruise, the harder it is. Even willing to take any type cabin. EM
  18. I did online renewal Jan 12 and status stayed as received until I got impatient and went online and requested expedited service (but not expedited mailing) on Feb 24. Status immediately went to In Process, Monday it went to mailed, and Tuesday the 28th it arrived in my mailbox from New Hampshire. I was leaving on a cruise the next day, and could have used a BC for the first time. EM
  19. In 1407 and 8334 the bed will be by the bath. In 7364 by the balcony. If that matters to you. EM
  20. As long as it’s not in a bottle, and is sealed when brought aboard (which means you can’t open and use in the hotel the night before…). EM
  21. Crown, Sapphire or Grand, because they have the wrap around promenade deck. And one that sails from Vancouver, so you get the true inside passage. Those from Seattle have to sail west of Vancouver Island. EM
  22. No. What is the weather like in Tampa in June? What is it like now? EM
  23. To most of us, yes. Much more history, more activity going on. EM
  24. The forum changed platforms in October 2018. A lot of things changed. The mods should be able to help you find your archived posts…or a member more tech savvy than I am. Glad to see you may have solved your problem…EM
