  1. I wonder if the statues have a pained look on their faces…. EM
  2. Gatun, you had to wait your turn behind Volendam Then it was your turn
  3. Keep in mind that beaches in the Mediterranean are not smooth and sandy like the Caribbean. Most are rocky, not what you are imagining. People don’t sail the Mediterranean to go to the beach. EM
  4. Gatun locks, Volendam heading from second to third lock, Zuiderdam waiting her turn
  5. Canal day. Volendam got there first, but you are waiting your turn... Now it's your turn
  6. Ports of Call board for Italy. TripAdvisor. Your roll call. EM
  7. Yes, the Wet Lizard, sister to the Bearded Clam in Nassau. Husband Daycare. EM
  8. The connecting door between cabins is on the wall at the foot of the bed. The balcony door is also on that side of the room. Therefore when the divider is opened, it will block one of the doors to the balcony. So one cabin would. It have access to their balcony without going through the connecting cabin and out their balcony door. EM
  9. The Princess cruise did not include South America or the Panama Canal. However, it did include Martinique and Guadeloupe. EM
  10. This cam is either always outside…or inside the tower. Pretty constant temp and/or humidity…. EM
  11. When I am searching for cruises in a particular area, instead of rooting through the cruise line websites, I go to www.cruisetimetables.com. If there is a particular port I want to visit, I choose that port in the ‘cruises to’ list, then the time of year I want to travel. It then tells me who calls there, and their itineraries. It’s a wonderful site to get lost in, but it is not a travel agency or a forum. EM
  12. There is a ‘shopping center’ at the pier but years ago when I was there it was mostly duty free electronics. Lots of crew with laptops sitting along the walkway using Wi-Fi. Not recommended to leave the area without armed escort…. Your stop at Colon is strictly to pick up guests returning from excursions. EM
  13. You might wander over to the Alaska board here, under Ports of Call for some more suggestions. You might look at American Cruise Lines who have a ship American Constellation doing a May positioning cruise from Seattle to Juneau, then 10 and 7 day r/t cruises from Juneau. Lots of ports not visited by big ships, plus the usual and Glacier Bay. EM
  14. If you are on a ship with a wraparound promenade deck, that’s best. But without knowing your ship, we can’t say. EM
  15. True, but the countries you plan to visit May have such requirements. EM
  16. Passing Pedro Miguel locks, heading down the channel to Cocoli Locks
  17. Go to cruisetimetables.com and select Tokyo under Cruises from. It will tell you who is sailing and their itinerary. EM Also check cruises from Yokohama.
  18. Sunrise is on the Grand Cayman schedule for Feb. 9, as well an Apex, Summit, & Prima. Going to be a busy day. EM
  19. I loved Amber Cove. It is sort of a cross between Grand Turk and Mahogany Bay. Pool is better than Grand Turk. Nice shopping. st. Maarten has a beach along the shore in front of the shops. Much more character, just depends on what you want. EM
