  1. Connecting rooms on Equinox are a non-issue as they connect outside your room. If you aren't connecting with the adjacent cabin you will never notice it. There is an extra door folded into the vestibule.
  2. But possibly a very steep gangway.
  3. I want to find that banana split station on my sailing!!! The After Eight cupcakes also looked good.
  4. It's been moving around from sailing to sailing. You will need to check when onboard. I was on one sailing where it was 12 months another 18 and then most recently it was 6 months. The flyer in my documents for my March 23 sailing says 90 days.
  5. You can book reservations (for free) in the cruise planner way ahead of your sailing. Just go to dining and it will be at the very bottom after the paid dining options.
  6. You can connect to the onboard WiFi and use the Celebrity app for for free without having an internet package. You won't be able to do anything else with it as you will be blocked from connecting to the internet (off the ship).
  7. "S" class is 5. I think "M" is usually 4.
  8. Plus you have to leave 1 original name on the reservation. You can't change all names.
  9. @Ken the cruiser explained it better. The problem with the open booking where you don't select the sailing while onboard is that you only had 90 days to select a sailing or you no longer received the bonus OBC. They have recently been playing with extending this deadline to 90 days up to a year. If you don't assign a sailing after a year they refund your deposit. Using the placeholder method the deposit and the OBC never expire and you have up to the final payment deadline (almost 2 years out) to select another sailing (or cancel). Even then you could just move it another 2 years to another placeholder.d
  10. Turkey does not require a visa for US citizens for Cruise Passenger port stops. https://tr.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/u-s-citizen-services-faqs/
  11. Eclipse has not been Revolutionized and won't be before Sept. Even if it were there are no changes to the forward facing lounges on S class ships. The only change is the change of the very upper forward decks (15?) which has been historically under utilized on S class ships.
  12. This is exactly my strategy as well other than I don't do open passages as I find them too restrictive. In place I make a couple of dummy refundable deposit bookings for sailings as far out as possible that I don't intend to take. I try to book an undesirable cabin so I'm not blocking a primo cabin someone else may want to book. If the open passages didn't have time restrictions on selecting a sailing or lose the OBC I'd use them but given the restrictions I use the placeholder booking as it's more advantageous for me. Then when I move the placeholder to the sailing I wish to take I generally make it NRD.
  13. 8172 is my go to aft cabin on M class ships. Keep it. I've not been on deck 7 but the view from higher up on 8 is in my mind better.
  14. This ^^^^ The Blu hostess will call (or preform some computer magic) and make arrangements for you. I think you will find that you are well taken care of.
  15. Easiest way to tell is if there is a square on the deck plan indicating a sleeper sofa, then it's bed by the bath.
  16. From your other posts it seems that you have yet to experience Blu. I think you should hold your opinion until you actually experience the venue and food. I have complained about the cut backs as I have experienced all the dining venues on Celebrity and have been onboard for 21 days so far in 2023 and have experienced them first hand. I guess I felt I had to explain why I have made complaints about the cut backs and I'm also glad to see some adjustments being made.
  17. 4 Go to any specialty dining venue as soon as you board and see what might be available. They do hold some back for onboard booking.
  18. The issue is that NRD is 75% discount and Refundable is now only 50% discount. That 25% of the cruise fare shows up in addition to the actual upcharge for the refundable deposit. Bottom line is if you are really planning on taking the cruise get the NRD and good insurance. If you aren't sure..... Well that's what Celebrity is trying to stop!
  19. Celebrity is very bad about responding to emails. You have to call.
  20. It's when the price difference is vast like you describe that GTY can be worth it. Most of mine have been suite GTY and my opinion is there is no such thing as a bad suite. For other categories you do have to assume you will have an assignment very far forward and probably on a lower deck. Don't assume you will be able to change cabins (in the same category) after a GTY assignment. I have several times but once since the restart I was refused. I was assigned the first S2 Sky Suite at the bow. There were 30+ open suites so I requested on by the elevator. I was told if I wanted to change it would be at prevailing S2 rate. I argued that I had done several times before. Shoreside concierge held firm that's why the GTY is lower price, you get what you were assigned. The story did have a happy ending as when my TA was back on Monday I asked him to change the cabin and it was done in 5 min.
  21. That's because the "discount" is reduced from 75% to 50% for refundable fares so that difference appears on the Refundable Deposit upcharge (reverse discount??). I didn't do the math but I assume it's 25% of the difference between Cruise Only and AI added to the upcharge?? As others have said it shouldn't be this hard to understand their pricing structure. Some of my invoices make no sense to me as far as discount line items.
  22. LPP wants young affluent cruisers so I wouldn't expect a call.
  23. Celebrity only has Coke products. DW will be disappointed.
