  1. I'm not an expert on Edge class ships as I'm not a fan of the IV rooms. It looks like you were assigned a C3 cabin which means you would only be able to change to another C3 cabin if even allowed to switch. This restricts you to the 2 cabins next to the Magic Carpet rails. The one next to the rail like you have "might" be better as from what I've read the S3 suites have a window in the rail so you can probably see something through that window as well. I do believe the one your assigned is bed by the bath because it has a sofa bed. If you call to try to change you could just politely ask for one with bed by the balcony. This video shows the room and the window in the rail and the obstruction.
  2. Yes the Australia contract is way different and does include the old language. It looks out of date. The US contract has no mention of the Alcohol policy at all. It's in the guest conduct policy on the website.
  3. On deck 11 they can be physically opened. But it sounds like they now have a policy at least on this ship that they can only be opened while in port. I'd ask Sylvia the front desk manager or Antwinette the GR Director why that is the case.
  4. @crewsgirl If there is a cabin available which you prefer over the one they assigned you in the same sub category you can call and generally they will switch you. If you post the ship and current cabin number we can help you with recommendations. Edit: I just read you are on the Edge. I had one situation where they wouldn't let me change an assigned GTY cabin without paying the prevailing rate when I called Celebrity directly but my TA was able to do it when I could get hold of him. It's worth a call. With Celebrity if one agent says no then call again and you may get a different answer.
  5. Using the current Celebrity website. Go to FAQ's and search for Alcohol policy which directs you to the guest conduct policy which has the statement. "Guests are not permitted to bring alcoholic beverages onboard; with the exception of embarkation day when each guest (of legal drinking age) is permitted to bring onboard up to two (2) 750 ml bottles of wine (which are subject to a corkage fee) per guest. A corkage fee does not apply to guests with the Classic Beverage Package or Premium Beverage Package. " Celebrity always points you to the website for the latest policy information. Of course this guest conduct policy says it was last updated January of 2021 but we all know this policy changed to this current wording late last year or earlier this year. I wish they would update their "last updated" date when changing document. Document control 101!
  6. I wasn't saying it was new although it may have been made more general. It looks like they can now charge you anything at anytime and you have no recourse. I'm envisioning a "debt recovery fee".😀 Thank goodness there's also the court of public opinion and bad press. That's what killed the fuel surcharge last time.
  7. I think that went away last May for all areas other than Europe. I don't believe they have been paying expenses off the ship this Caribbean season, although I've not heard of anyone being put off for covid either.
  8. Read section 20 if you really want to worry.
  9. Read section 4 on Covid. If you test positive in the 5 days prior you are entitled to a refund/FCC. I thought the current covid policies covered sailing through the end of April.........
  10. Last week flying back from Buenos Aires on AA in PE we had tenderloin. I think they serve the same meal in economy. It was about an 8oz filet and pretty good although hard to eat only being able to bend your elbows and wrists😀 It was way better than the beef stew thing on the flight out of Miami.
  11. I like Kelly's Landing off 17st. Nothing fancy but have pretty good NE seafood. I think the owners are from the Boston area.
  12. I wouldn't use the concierge for this, the stateroom attendant can take care of this for you.
  13. Why would you retain the Classic Package if she doesn't drink. Wouldn't the Zero Proof provide more more premium non alcoholic options?
  14. You can inform the Future Cruises agent that you don't want it assigned to the TA who booked the current sailing. You then would have 30 days to assign to another agent or leave it with Celebrity.
  15. I will probably have to catch up after the fact as we will also be on the Connie TA like @Gaynors. Hopefully Starlink will be as great on the TA as it was on Infinity from Chile to BA 2 weeks ago. Have a great trip and enjoy the portion with the family.
  16. Concierge Class cabins tend to be in more desirable locations like higher decks and not far forward. That's really why they demand higher prices over standard verandah. I agree with others that on M class ships the extra 20 sq ft is reason for me to book CC or Aqua.
  17. Can you point to the place on the website you are reading this. I believe to purchase the Plus package (if it even exists anymore) both people in the stateroom must already have the premium package.
  18. We had no issues with satellite. We were on the Santiago to BA route though. Like I said once you got connected to the wifi access point things were great. I expected that there would be times with no or limited satellite coverage due to the area and weather but like I said no issues. I was streaming Youtube tv and maybe once an hour a very short buffer of 1 to 2 seconds on premium package.
  19. Seems a bit steep for a 7 night cruise but can't argue it's one of the best staterooms on the ship. Our favorite SV is 8172 on M class ships. Was in 8183 once and the extra room in the cabin is very nice. I currently have a bid in for a FV on my TA next week. Keeping my fingers crossed.
  20. I agree with others that you should try the basic first. With StarLink I've found the service even at premium is throttled to about 5 mbs. I suspect you will be fine with basic.
  21. Day 2 and 7 almost guaranteed.
  22. Premium. Once connected streaming TV was great. It appeared that the infrastructure was unable to support the number of connections as places like Buffet and the Constellation lounge were very difficult to impossible to connect when there were lots of people there. Never had this issue on any Celebrity ship.
  23. I'm also just of Infinity last week. We were in a deck 11 Aqua cabin which was added about 10 years ago and I'll say the room was in much better shape than I expected. Yes some rust on the balcony. The public spaces were all very well maintained. I don't think I saw any soft goods showing excessive wear. These can be the first things to show. I wouldn't hesitate to book it again. That said the WiFi had serious troubles I've not had on any other Celebrity ship. Not the internet as they now have StarLink so IF you could get connected to the WiFi infrastructure I was able to stream TV with only the occasional very short buffer. I had the premium package.
