  1. In Ft. Lauderdale your ship will be docked at pier 2. There are no special lines entering the terminal. Everyone goes through security with no priority. Once through security the line splits into green and blue lane. There are guides there to point you in the right direction. Blue lane passengers have to stop and pick up their medallion which takes about 5 minutes. Once upstairs, if you arrive before actual boarding, priority boarders wait in one area. Others in another area. Green lane does not mean priority. It just means that you don't have to stop to pick up your medallion, and maybe a few other paperwork issues are missing. Boarding normally begins somewhere between 10:30 and 11:00am. Once it begins it goes quickly.
  2. Probably just duplicates by some error. Medallions are not programed by cabin. They have a code that IDs the individual. The ship's computer system links the code to your cabin as well as to your folio and on board ID.
  3. Yes, Sail from Brooklyn. https://cruise.nyc/BCT-Schedule
  4. A few times I have received a small amount of OBC for a missed port in addition to the port fees. Don't expect it. It's not a standard thing.
  5. It look like your final payment isn't due until June. You probably will get a new invoice amount. If not there will be a few $$ credit on your on board account. Amount depends on the port. I have seen amounts from a few $$ to maybe $10. It's not a windfall.
  6. Yes to all your questions. OBC is posted as a credit to your onboard account. Any on board purchase, including all those in your questions, when posted to your account nets against the credit balance. It's a simple credit/debit system. Exception: If you purchase Future Cruise Deposits, FCDs, or place a deposit for a future cruise while you are on board those charges go directly to your credit card and bypass your onboard account. Thus OBC can not be used for this purpose. Regarding Crew Appreciation. My understanding is that crew appreciation is included in the fare for the Australia/NZ market. So, no additional charge. In the U.S. if you purchase the standard fare there will be a daily crew appreciation charge per person of US$16, $17 or $18 depending on cabin category. This is automatically posted daily to your account and nets against any credit balance, OBC. If you are speaking about providing additional tips to certain crew members then cash is the way to go. The accounting system automatically uses non refundable OBC first then refundable.
  7. If you are able to bring on wine at port stops, which happens a lot, and you bring that bottle to any public area such as a DR you will be charged corkage. You don't have to keep it in your cabin.
  8. Crew members, entertainers and others employed by the cruise line are not subject to the PVSA. Only passengers.
  9. Docked , not tender. It was a number of years ago, but believe we docked at Port Saguenay on the Saguenay River. There was nothing around the port area except some local vendors and some welcoming music on the dock. There was a local bus that took us to the town of Saguenay.
  10. This kind of activity is usually rolled out fleet wide maybe a few ships at a time or all at once. On the Ruby this past March I did not see it. Feel it isn't something Princess is doing right now.
  11. PVSA violations probably waived for medical emergency. Are you being fined because of a violation? If not why even worry about it. U.S. citizen has nothing to do with the act. The act applies to any passenger. While doubtful there would be any fine, $300 is a small amount if there is indeed a medical emergency.
  12. If you play the slots and have a casino account I guess you could request that the cashier debit your on board account. I don't know if they have that accounting ability. Just as easy to take the cash and deposit whatever amount you need at passenger services. If you play tables you have chips. You can only cash them for cash.
  13. I think the poster might be saying that they wish to board early, then disembark and look around Vancouver. If that is the case there will be a sign indicating latest boarding time. If no sign ask before you leave the ship.
  14. There will be live music in the Piazza as well as the lounges. One of the musical groups will be a party band and will most likely play set in the Piazza mid to late evening. Probably game shows like the marriage game, liars game, musical trivia. There will be theater shows and some comics.
  15. Try calling United. Tell them EZ Air is a cruise line consolidator.
  16. My feeling is that it is better to purchase future cruise deposits wait until you get home when you have time and are not excited about the cruise to search and book. I feel it is better to book through a T.A. then on line yourself. TAs usually have some extra benefits and if there is an issue they can contact their contacts at Princess rather then you trying to get through on the impossible customer service line. You can not board in L.A. and then disembark in Seattle. It is a violation of the Passenger Vessel Service Act, PVSA. It does not matter if it is two separate bookings. What matters is that you are sailing between two different U.S. ports without stopping a distant foreign port. Princess will not allow the bookings you suggest.
  17. No for specialty dining. You have to wait until you board. OBC can only be used pre-cruise for Princess excursions.
  18. We will have to wait. It may be fixed DRs, or the DRs could change per cruise or per experience depending on how many passengers opt for each option.
  19. Soda and juice are unlimited. The same with regular and specialty coffees as well as any other non alcoholic beverage. I do believe that non-alcoholic beers are counted as part of the 15 alcoholic beverages. Yes, you can get 16 specialty coffees in a day, more if you want. A note about the juice bar. When I think of a juice bar I think of fruits and veggies being blended up in front of you. This past March on the Ruby there were no juice bars the way I think of them. Each bar had LARA juices from cartons.
  20. Lobster tail night will most likely be the 2nd formal night.
  21. I would not worry about true formal wear, like tux and cocktail dress. Just bring nice clothing. We could take a guess on the formal nights if you provide the date and ship so we can review the itinerary. Formal evenings will never be the last evening before turn around day or boarding day evening.
  22. Regarding elegant dress nights. I can't actually tell you if they will designate any evenings as elegant evenings. The Enchanted Princess does not start its Canada season until August 24th. Maybe at that time you will be able to find out some additional information. There are supposed to be two formal evenings on a 7 day cruise. On your itinerary I think they would be Sunday, the 2nd evening, Newport, and the first sea day, Wednesday. One of these might be designated elegant instead of formal, although there would be little difference in how passengers dress. On my March 2024 Ruby Princess cruise there were some evenings that were mentioned as elegant dress. I did not notice any overall difference in evening dress between smart casual and elegant evenings. The Enchanted Princess has 3 casual meal restaurants, Gigi's pizza by Alfredo, Ocean Terrace, and O'Malley's. There are no reservations. Believe Gigi's is open for lunch as well as dinner. Reservations can be made for specialty dining which is different from casual dining and not included in the plus fare. The Enchanted has 3 specialty restaurants, The Catch by Rudi, Crown Grill and Sabatini's.
  23. Assume other couples will replace them with the same/similar programs and entertainment. Dave's musical abilities beyond the Hawaiian program will be missed.
  24. I would take the time to write an old fashioned letter to John Padgett. The way I see it this terrible episode was caused by Princess' unacceptable customer service, customer service personnel that don't fully understand the English language, customer service personnel that have limited English speaking knowledge, customer service personnel that are housed in noisy offices. Mr. Padgett needs to hear this from someone directly involved with this negative experience. E-mails, text, phone calls will not get the message through. You might even wind up with some future cruise credits. I had a simple change of address. I was not able to change it on line myself. The program would not allow it. Crazy for such a common thing. I kept getting the message contact Princess. I emailed them a number of times. It went on for months. I finally wrote a postal letter to John Padgett. A few weeks later I received a response and the address was changed.
