  1. Yes it is possible! You have to call to do it. I believe If they are minors it has to be right next to or across from your cabin. We did it with our daughters. And yes you have to call to do this because they are minors.
  2. Ok so I never really think about getting hurt on a cruise. But I always get the insurance through the cruise line more because I'm worried about lost luggage or something else going wrong. Never looked into it. Does their insurance cover injuries? 🤔 Guess I should be more concerned now that we're in our later 50's and both walking around with spare parts in our bodies lol. Me a ton of metal and hubby a new knee.
  3. Not sure when op said he wants to know what the cruise line did...what should they do? They aren't going to give you money because someone accidentally walked into your room. And they aren't going to throw someone off the ship for making a mistake. I was just at WA-WA with my mom last week getting her a coffee. I have a midsize black suv. I came out to find a woman standing with my door open and leaning half in my car. She looked to be in her mid to late 70's. I just started laughing when she said oh is this YOUR car. I said don't worry it happens to me at work too ( 3 of us at work have same suv same color same year). She said was it unlocked. Her car was also a black suv parked 3 cars down. She thought when she hit her fob and heard the beep that she was at her car lol mine was unlocked. She heard the beep because she was 3 cars from hers🤣.
  4. Just wondering how bad his leg was fractured. I wouldn't think for a fracture they would medivac even on land. I had a car accident obviously on land and when the ambulance came and saw my condition they called for a medivac. But I must have looked pretty bad I was conscious but my femur was broke and you could see it was right under the skin. I also broke my hip and shattered my heel, so I think my leg looked pretty bad lol. I couldn't see it because of the broken ball of my hip I couldn't sit up. But I don't think for a simple break they would have medivac me. I hope your husband is healing. Broken bones are no fun.
  5. I agree. I love the atmosphere in the MDR. We have only done specialty dining maybe twice and once was for a lunch. We just don't see the need to spend that much more for food. At home we get out meats from a local butcher ...no steak restaurant no matter how expensive is going to top the steak we eat at home lol.
  6. I keep hearing how hard the beds are but in 10 cruises we've never had an issue with a bed. Not sure if we've just been lucky or we aren't that picky. Our bed at home is a pillow top so it's soft , so I would think if the beds were that hard we'd have noticed. Guess in August I'll know for sure since it'll be my first cruise since having a rod in my leg & screws in my hip😆
  7. Oh all of that sounds fine with me haha. We're from South Jersey so not city people at all. 2 acres not in an actual neighborhood. Well water and septic system and no side walks. Pretty quiet, our back yard butts up to a farm. Plus....We're cruising out of port everglades this time.
  8. Yea we actually do not like Miami at all. Lol. We cruised out of Miami and we hated everything but the cruise. Just not our cup of tea. Reminded me of being in NY city.
  9. Thank you. Yes just flying in day before. Just the husband and I.
  10. Yes I know the miserables are going to say look it up. I'm asking for recent opinions not from a 5 yr old post since things do change. To anyone who has stayed in the past year I appreciate your opinions. Thank you!! Our cruise is in August.
  11. So she brings the wrong passport never double checks on the way there. Gets there just in time and gets denied but no time to go get the correct docs. I think I'd look into how can I get the correct docs and meet up with cruise at first port if cheaper than losing out on entire vacation money spent. I ALWAYS double & triple check. BUT on 1 cruise we get to airport using a service to take us there. And Realize that while my husband grabbed every one's luggage ( his, daughter, daughter's friend) He completely forgot MINE. 😳 What a fiasco. Woke my sister at 5 am she drove to.my house found the spare key, got my suitcase and drove to the airport. Hubby stayed back ( got the next flight) Us girls were going between crying and laughing. Thankfully it all worked out! Oh the one he forgot had all my clothes. The one he grabbed was shoes, toiletries and snorkle. I would have looked amazing for a week in heels and a snorkle😅
  12. Not sure if it would really help more not but I always attach a luggage Tag to each bag plus put another INSIDE the bag. Incase the one falls off if they open the bag there is another tag.
  13. There actually have been a few posts in the past year of it happening. Not sure HOW often but they do over book. I've thankfully never had it happen.
  14. For me YES. I drink soda the way other people drink coffee ,wine or water lol. I wake up get soda , have lunch...soda...dinner...soda...through out the day...soda. More specifically Coke Zero. So to me it's totally worth it.
  15. Haha. Our cruise got canceled due to Hurry Harvey so when we booked for the following summer she decided they had promised they wouldn't go on any more vacations without each other. Yea except they did just not that one. I love her but she is way more spoiled ( think little rich kid) than my kids so my daughter actually had more fun without her.
  16. We had my husband's daughter get mad and decide a few weeks prior to a cruise that if her boyfriend couldn't come neither would she ( She was 18). We had paid for the cruise and EVERYTHING that went with it. She thought she was sticking it to us and we'd give in. Instead my husband said to my daughter who was 21 find a friend to bring it's already paid. So she did. I told the friend it's a free cruise and air fare ,food& non-alcoholic drinks ALL YOU need to do is bring spending money! Her mom couldn't believe the offer. The friend was 20 and it was her first cruise and the 2 of them had the time of their lives lol. But I just couldn't afford her spending money. So I totally understand!
  17. Oh lol yeah haven't cruised with the app yet. Last cruise was February 2020.
  18. Yes $500 on a week long cruise. My hubby hates to have credit card charges or holds so we always do a cash account. However he always puts a few hundred down the first day the. They let us know when/ if we need to put more. Plus you can see your account on the TV in your cabin to keep track of your spending and also see if there are any mistakes.
  19. It's not that I don't want ALL of it but would be nice if they made some new mid sized ships. Maybe cater to the mid life group lol. We don't go to bed at 9 but we don't party til 3am. I like a good water slide and use to enjoy a climb ( can't anymore due to a bad car accident that left me with a leg & foot full of metal lol). Oh well one can dream lol.
  20. I personally don't like any of the newer HUGE theme park on water cruise ships. My kids are grown and I want to relax. Now I understand that Royal is family friendly but I really wish they would consider not everyone is cruising as a family. Some of us are just empty nesters who would love a cruise on a fun ship but not all the kiddie rides. We are Diamond now so we're not likely to choose a different line. But would be nice to relax with a few less screaming kids ( in my defense I work with screaming kids). We enjoy the comedy shows, the piano bars, the pools, dinning, and the evening shows. That said I'd never pay the Icon prices even IF I could afford it.
  21. This is actually great to know. My hubby has tea every morning and every night and uses honey. Might have to get a jar just for the cruise. And yes he goes through a jar a week lol.
  22. Our cruise in August will be our first as Diamond. I'm also excited since we aren't drinkers the free drinks coupons will be used for mocktails and fresh oj and such. Which means I'm only purchasing a soda package for me. Hubby will get the Refreshment. Then I have 8 ( his4 & my 4 ) to get anything the soda package doesn't cover that I might want.
  23. Right, how does it know that there are 4 people who are VERY LARGE and 4 average sized. Or that there are 3 people waiting with strollers
  24. I can answer 2 questions. It is cheaper to get the drink packages pre cruise. Keep an eye out for a good sale. It's worth it if on average you drink 4-5 drinks a day. The fridge in the room is basically a cooler. If needed for medication contact the special needs department. They will get you a medical one which will stay cold enough for medication. Sorry that's all I can answer.
