  1. I am currently looking for a replacement cruise for this fall to replace my Crown booking for the 28 day LA-Hawaii-Tahiti-Samoa-LA. It makes me angry that Princess has already switched the Crown in 2023, but not for 2022. They just plan to leave us in this situation. I still do not understand how or why they are continuing with the Crown in such bad shape. Very sad. I have visions (OK, a fear) of being stranded somewhere in the vast Pacific ocean. At this point I can't see myself setting foot on her.
  2. Just a guess here. You are probably being recognized as a new customer. Princess will likely assign you a representative called a CVP, but you are not obligated to book through them. You can book yourself on the website or your TA or even transfer a booking you made to your TA. If you see a button that says register or create account, try going there first and establish an account. Then search for your cruise. I hope this helps, good luck.
  3. Hmmmmm, that makes some sense. A sale and $1.00 deposits is coming later this week. So, of course they need to raise the prices for that event.
  4. It should be offered if it works time wise with your specific tour and there could be a limited number of spaces available as well. If Princess says yes you can upgrade. DO IT, DO IT, DO IT!

  6. Has anyone actually seen something in print by Princess stating that the scheduled dry dock will address the propulsion/generator/electrical whatever the issues are? I do not have high hopes they will be able to resolve whatever the issues are. I am in the camp of they should never have restarted Crown in the poor shape she is in. I have a November booking to the South Pacific that I will cancel because I am just very very afraid of setting foot on that ship. I am imagining being stranded out in the middle of the Pacific ocean unable to get anywhere or that the cruise turns into a huge disappointing disaster. It makes me angry that Princess has already re-deployed Crown cruises in 2023 to another ship. Hey, what about those of us who were book in later 2022 after Alaska. We would be stuck with this limping ship ???? If they would swap the Crown for another ship, I would keep my booking.
  7. All I get for 3 days now. Since we are not allowed to see any information, we can't search book or look for fare reductions or cabin availability. BTW, I did try a well known major website and for what I was looking for it showed no availability in this cabin category for every category and for every date I tried or guarantee only when it got to picking a cabin point. So there is likely some tie there back to Princess' issues.
  8. I sure wish you had been able to move off this cruise. I know it's difficult with family schedules, responsibilities and such. IIRC this is a first cruise for some. I am so sorry it is turning out like this. 😞 Princess should be very ashamed at what they are causing and they seem oblivious.

  10. Hey ..... what about those of us who are booked on the Crown this year. Are we going to be stuck with her. Princess does not seem interested in fixing their problem, at least not anytime soon. IIRC the October dry dock was scheduled some time ago and not for the electrical/propulsion/barnacles or whatever the problem is. If they do not change us to another ship, I will be cancelling.
  11. They were born twins when built in Japan, but not any more. Diamond has been much more customized for the Asian market and has no International Cafe nor Vines or Alfredos I don't believe. I do love their layout and walk around deck and covered pool. Also they are getting older now. My own preference between the two would be Sapphire

  13. Hi there! I hope you get it all worked out. Did you use EZ Air? Flying is a crazy mess it seems these days. I am on Delta (Booked with Skymiles) LAX to SEA July 29th return to LAX Aug 7. I am on DIscovery Princess July 31st. My outbound flight changed time once and return flight time had changed twice, was OK. Then about 2-3 weeks ago they cancelled that return flight and moved me to a new flight which is IMPOSSSIBLE, like you. I immediately called and now have a later afternoon flight (long sitting time at SEA-TAC, UGH!) I am also very concerned about all the recent permanent flight cancellations in and out of SEA-TAC and imagine there will be more by the time I fly and just hope I don't get caught up in it.

  15. In the newly updated version it seems they hid the boarding group selection pretty well. I now have a difficult time finding it unlike where it was before this update. I'm not even sure what I did and it was not intuitive to me. I have to keep checking, I will get it eventually.
  16. Yes, I do and it begins at 1:00 pm. I never made the connection that was the conflict as I thought Juneau was the day following Endicott Arm. I understand it now. Thank you very much

I just looked at your itinerary and you have the identical conflict I would if it allowed me to book (but it will not allow a booking) As I said, something is very fishy with this within Princess. I am guessing you will likely soon get a similar email that the OP got and they just have not gotten around to your cruise yet. Again, I ask ..... Why did Princess even offer this excursion at all? I suspect Princess will do nothing about this situation and will just be content with dissatisfied and disappointed passengers.

  19. Hmmmmm, I have discovered another issue pertaining to my booking on Discovery July 31st. This is all very fishy. I just now looked in my cruise personalizer and this Endicott Arm excursion is there for me to choose and showing 20 openings. But ....... when trying to book it, a notice appears saying that there is a conflict. Our time in Endicott Arm is 5am to 9am, 4 hours. The excursion is 7am to 1pm, 6 hours. Yes, this sure is a conflict. I checked multiple dates of this itinerary and all appear the same. The funny thing is that we arrive in Endicott Arm at 5am and we are not scheduled to arrive at our next port, Juneau until 12:30 PM the next day. Juneau is all of 43 miles away from Endicott Arm. It seems to me we passengers on this itinerary are victims of perhaps too many ships being allowed in Alaska requiring intricate scheduling requirements to avoid so called "congestion" problems, perhaps Alaska state mandates play a part, possibly could be $$$$$$ charged to cruise line driven. I am feeling like we passengers are being robbed of the Alaska experience this season in particular. I have been reading many posts about excursion issues and disappointment recently. I did go on live chat to inquire about this situation. As I expected I got no answer other than what I already knew, that the ship is not scheduled to be there long enough for this excursion. So why did Princess even offer this excursion at all?

  21. I agree with Coral and that is my experience as well. My TA in PA is quite well known here. I do the research leading up to booking, I book on the Princess website. There is a time limit now to turn the booking over to your TA, I believe 60 days. I don't turn it over until near the deadline in case I want to make changes that I could not if it has been turned over. There is a form required to do the turn over, my TA does the form for me. I always book my own air, usually Princess EZAir. There are times I do call Princess reservations with allowable questions and customer relations when needed. A good TA will always take care of you and mine does.
