Upgrade Bids, do they fluctuate?
Cruise a holic replied to Cruisegirl138's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Just enjoy your cabin. So nice to spend time with family and friends- -
I agree about the dining and if we had to choose would do the same- However the suite perks and size of the cabin IMO worth the extra money- We love the suite lounge, deck on the edge class especially, and other perks- we even get a nice cash bonus for booking a suite-. Also breakfast in Luminae is much better then the MDR.

They only offer a limited amount of these packages for sale. We purchase quickly after we book the cruise. You might be able to do on board if they still offer it. We are on a 9 night silhouette cruise and paid $329.99 pp. Good luck.

Apex, where can we get regular black coffee besides buffet?
Cruise a holic replied to Esmerelda's topic in Celebrity Cruises
If you have a drink package, you get coffee included at Cafe Al Baccio So worth it. -
We usually take the Unlimited package- even through we are in a suite. While the service in Luminae is great- we prefer dinner in the specialty restaurants, especially on S and Edge class ships. Cost will vary depending upon the ship, date of travel and length of cruise. IMO worth it, especially if you do not have access to the suite dining room.

Unlimited dining package on boarding day
Cruise a holic replied to MaxandEmme's topic in Royal Caribbean International
We also take the UDP. Sometimes the specialty restaurants rotate, so when you get on board your app will let you know which are open. You can also ask the guest services representatives or suite concierge if in a suite. Enjoy -
Food for embarkation in a suite.
Cruise a holic replied to avatar133's topic in Royal Caribbean International
We stay in a CLS and do not recall any snacks in our stateroom. However you are on the floor of the coastal kitchen and suite lounge and can typically help yourself to food and snacks most of the day. The star class suites have a genie, who indulges star class guests with tons of snacks and food. Enjoy your cruise. -
We were on the Adventure last may. Since we are used to the Oasis class ships, it did disappoint. Our Jr. Suite was a rust bucket- in dire need of repair- the buffet reminded me of a school cafeteria. Food in MDR seemed rushed and not high quality. The entertainment wasn't like the Oasis class. We weren't impressed and will stick to the Oasis class ships- we are booked on the Icon and hope that will meet our expectations.

Celebrity Apex - Favourite Restaurant
Cruise a holic replied to Nicole&Pete's topic in Celebrity Cruises
We were in a suite but did try the MDR italian restaurant. It was good and the service such an improvement over the old banquet style restaurant. As far as specialties, We loved Eden- probably my favorite! We were disappointed in the grill. Expected it to be more like the lawn club grill on the Silhouette and Reflection= it wasn't. It is open and people were running back a fourth using the restaurant as a public walkway- nobody stopped them. It definitely interfered with our restful dinner. We also enjoyed Luminae, the suite restaurant. Tried all special restaurants, except sushi, which isn't to our liking. All others were fine. You should try a couple of specialty restaurants. -
Is Liberty of the Sea too big???
Cruise a holic replied to Dona March's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I believe someone else said backward things. Oasis class definitely has more bells and whistles -

We LOVE the crown loft suites on the Oasis class ships. Also do not recall if the liberty has a true suite sun deck and bar- Since we sail in suites, it makes a difference for us. Of course the ship is larger and carries more passengers which some people might not prefer. A personal choice. -

The ship is a good size. We prefer the larger Oasis Class, but the Freedom class have most of the "bells and Whistles". The design of the ship minimizes crowds- plenty of space- the only time you might feel crowded, is when parades are held on the main deck- 5. But you can always find a quiet comfortable spot to relax around the ship. We will try the ICON of the Seas next March, and look foward to the experience- may not be for us, but surely worth a try. -
IMO he is funny. Bullying? No- if you walk out during his show, he sometimes makes a "funny" comment. Since the ships have so many people over 60, he is fun to watch! So much better then CATS! Wish he performed on the Oasis of the Seas. I believe he is a great performer and gives his all to his show-

What does Celebrity do for special occasions?
Cruise a holic replied to stah1mr's topic in Celebrity Cruises
When we sail in a reflection suite, they also do a great job! But the cakes are a waste as we don’t eat them. So much food on the ship , in the lounge, it’s crazy! Happy birthday -

LOS Cape Liberty check in arrival
Cruise a holic replied to ChristieNJ's topic in Royal Caribbean International
We will be sailing again this august out of bayonne. I wonder what will happen regarding arrival times -
I also like big- new ships. Last year we did the Adventure of the Seas and we were very disappointed. No comparison to the Oasis class ships. Will not sail on that ship again. However the Oasis is sailing out of port liberty to florida and the caribbean and we will sail on her this summer. Some of the celebrity ships have been redone- like the summit and it doesn't have "all the bells and whistles" but is a very good ship.

LOS Cape Liberty check in arrival
Cruise a holic replied to ChristieNJ's topic in Royal Caribbean International
We did the Oasis last August, and will again this August out of Bayonne. They are very strict about arrival times and boarding. If you are in a suite however, you can line up and board early. You might have to wait as they will not even let you line up before your scheduled arrival time. Call and see if you can modify. Good luck. -
However, IMO no comparison MSC to Royal. MSC beautiful ships- the yacht club is a step above the regular MSC passenger areas, but the food isn't good. Entertainment not nearly as good as Oasis class ships. My only complaint about Royal, I am an Diamond plus member, is the Adventure of the seas- old ship- needs major renovation. Also the Adventure, school cafeteria buffet room needs major overhaul. Need to be more like Celebrity with multiple stations all around the buffet area.
