  1. We LOVE the crown loft suites on the Oasis class ships. Also do not recall if the liberty has a true suite sun deck and bar- Since we sail in suites, it makes a difference for us. Of course the ship is larger and carries more passengers which some people might not prefer. A personal choice.
  2. The ship is a good size. We prefer the larger Oasis Class, but the Freedom class have most of the "bells and Whistles". The design of the ship minimizes crowds- plenty of space- the only time you might feel crowded, is when parades are held on the main deck- 5. But you can always find a quiet comfortable spot to relax around the ship. We will try the ICON of the Seas next March, and look foward to the experience- may not be for us, but surely worth a try.
  3. IMO he is funny. Bullying? No- if you walk out during his show, he sometimes makes a "funny" comment. Since the ships have so many people over 60, he is fun to watch! So much better then CATS! Wish he performed on the Oasis of the Seas. I believe he is a great performer and gives his all to his show-
  4. When we sail in a reflection suite, they also do a great job! But the cakes are a waste as we don’t eat them. So much food on the ship , in the lounge, it’s crazy! Happy birthday
  5. Some butlers are wonderful! We have had similar experiences
  6. Sometimes best to call and just upgrade. You might be surprised at the actual cost. You get all perks and can pick your cabin. May not be that much more then a good bid
  7. I have paid around $50 to have the room and door decorated. It is very festive! And you get a cake also. It is on the website. Special ocassions.
  8. We will be sailing again this august out of bayonne. I wonder what will happen regarding arrival times
  9. I also like big- new ships. Last year we did the Adventure of the Seas and we were very disappointed. No comparison to the Oasis class ships. Will not sail on that ship again. However the Oasis is sailing out of port liberty to florida and the caribbean and we will sail on her this summer. Some of the celebrity ships have been redone- like the summit and it doesn't have "all the bells and whistles" but is a very good ship.
  10. We did the Oasis last August, and will again this August out of Bayonne. They are very strict about arrival times and boarding. If you are in a suite however, you can line up and board early. You might have to wait as they will not even let you line up before your scheduled arrival time. Call and see if you can modify. Good luck.
  11. Slim odds- but people do get sick or have to cancel. If you give a good bid, you might be lucky. If this is on your bucket list, and you can afford it- go for it! Enjoy your cruise. We have sailed in Celebrity Suites and Royal Suites. Love the Royal suite on the S class with a bath and a half.
  12. However, IMO no comparison MSC to Royal. MSC beautiful ships- the yacht club is a step above the regular MSC passenger areas, but the food isn't good. Entertainment not nearly as good as Oasis class ships. My only complaint about Royal, I am an Diamond plus member, is the Adventure of the seas- old ship- needs major renovation. Also the Adventure, school cafeteria buffet room needs major overhaul. Need to be more like Celebrity with multiple stations all around the buffet area.
  13. We get some free laundry as elite plus members. We just send out underwear, pj's, socks and cheap tee shirts. I wouldn't send them anything valuable as they mix the laundry and use very hot water. Also as somebody previously said they put little stickers on the laundry which isn't easy to remove. Dry cleaning not bad for a fee of course. But if you have cruise credit and want to use it great.
  14. These sales are a joke. The prices for many things including the cruise fare, has increased substantially. So many people will pay the increased amounts, so the cruise lines are now making a fortune. So sad for those on a fixed income anxious to cruise.
  15. Imo not much. Both one large room. Owners is larger but both one bathroom and same perks For a short cruise, save your money for spec dining
  16. Yes I agree. So many games! Hopefully you can reinstate you UDP. Call corporate if you must. Such nonsense! We are all anxious to cruise, and some people have unlimited funds and do not mind the increases.
  17. Note this is one big room with a curtain separating the bed portion and couch portion of the room. Not a true bedroom.
  18. We love the UDP. Note sometimes only a limited amount of this package is available per cruise- if you want it book it. You can always cancel. Since we do not eat in MDR not sure about lobster issue. But why eat in MDR if you have access to Specialty dining restaurants?
  19. My husband's favorite drink is Long Island Iced Tea. I enjoy a french Martini but recently tried a coconut Martini and it is wonderful.
  20. Agree. Prices have increased so much this "sale" isn't viable.
  21. Agree! I was talking to a couple who bragged the brought one carry on and I guess didn’t realize that clothes may look clean but absorb perspiration!! Had to back away!
  22. Never said it is wrong- but based on my personal observations, I see this. As long as people wear clean non smelly clothes it dosen't impact me!
