  1. Typically early booking not a problem- 7PM-8PM seem to be the busiest. I would go to murano if no person is sitting at a kiosk when you board. The 3PM slot is just a place holder- restaurants do not open until 5:30 or so.
  2. I would highly recommend Celebrity. First, the crowd younger then on Hal and more to do in the evenings. Celebrity has a wonderful Martini Bar and the food IMO so much better. We do enjoy the Edge class ships. You can get an aft balcony with a true balcony, which we prefer and the bathrooms are excellent-. If S or M class, cabins are very nice also and food very good. We like a sky suite if your budget allows, but a true balcony also fine. We never use room service so that isn't an issue for us- but if you use a couple of times it isn't expensive. The specialty restaurants on celebrity IMO much better. Take a package for dining if you like.
  3. While we also love the Equinox, the Apex was a step up. The theater is wonderful. Rivals a broadway theatre- Eden was the best restaurant at sea. We were in a suite (sky 1) and the suite was just beautiful. Plenty of storage. In a suite also on the Equinox (royal). But the suite lounge an deck, hands down better on the edge class. Lack of shade however. We will continue to sail on the Edge class and the S class. Our favorite S class ships are the Silhouette and the Reflection as we enjoy the Lawn club grill. Have experienced the glass blowing on the other s class ships- but the Lawn grill beats it . We also tried the infinite veranda and too many negatives. Narrow and the window in the "florida room" was flawed. Problem if one person opens the window, AC turns off in the cabin. It is also too small. Poorly designed. Just a windowed cabin. But clearly some enjoy it.
  4. We have never had a problem. As soon as you board, go to a kiosk or a diningroom and make specific reservations. If in a suite, go to your butler aka retreat host, or the suite lounge and the host will make for you. We prepare a list of restaurants and times, to avoid any issues. Only once had an issue on New Years eve years ago on the Edge. We usually take the unlimited plan. Even if in a suite, prefer the speciality restaurants especially on the Edge class and M class ships.
  5. Yes. Our first Edge cruise we booked an infinite balcony cabin. After what I heard about the cabin, I wanted to upgrade. After I boarded the ship, I immediately went to Customer service. I did get the S2. Paid $800 additional. A bargain. However the ship wasn't full. My DH and I were very lucky. Pre pandemic. It was a couple of weeks after the inauguarl sailing. We didn't officially move to the cabin until after we were about to set sail. Now that ships are sailing almost full or full, chances are diminished. Now they push the move up, which is very expensive, IMO
  6. We love the Royal suite. What about a Celebrity suite- not the same but more room for your daughter. Also, two balcony cabins, still costs less then a royal suite. Your daughter will have privacy her own bathroom as will you. If she is young- you should get adjoining cabins. Enjoy your cruise.
  7. If you can afford it- bid why not. As they say-" you got to be in it to win it!"
  8. I would highly recommend the Sandy Lane Hotel. It is a true luxury resort. Also the Fairmont Royal Pavilion. Both wonderful hotels. Both in Barbados.
  9. We rank celebrity S and E class highly. Next up, Royal Oasis class. Then we like the Celebrity M class. Looking foward to the Royal Icon Class. We have another year to evaluate that ship. Of course the dates and itinerary have to work for us.
  10. You can at Eden. They have a beautiful bar-nightclub area. Also on the Edge. They have a nice bar and seating for those who aren't eating dinner.
  11. We will be on the Apex next week for our third time. The food all around the ship was very good. We especially enjoyed the grill, Eden and the steak house- not sushi fans- enjoyed /Le Petite chef, clever to experience once and the food was good.
  12. We use it in restaurants, not only for wine and cocktails, but for bottled water and special coffee.
  13. Nice to just give away to someone on the ship
  14. We bring a light weight cloth bag from a previous cruise. We used to get really nice zippered bags but who knows this month. Will advise about the Apex. We sail in a sky suite.
  15. We typically book a sky suite, mid ship. Enjoy the suite amenities
  16. Following. We have sailed on the edge and apex want to try the beyond soon
  17. We like coolibar for all of our sun protection gear. A nice selection of hats and rash guard sun protection clothes
  18. Not at all the same. Infinite veranda tiny and cabin narrow. Only positive is the improved bathroom It should be advertised as a windowed cabin
  19. Bring your own hairdryer. Especially if your hair is long or thick.
  20. found the infinite balcony cabins too narrow- if you sit on the balcony unless you are extremely short or tall your vision is obstructed by the bar on the window. Also cannot use a/c in cabin if infinite veranda door is open.
  21. Lamb chops at the Lawn Club Gill on the Reflection and the Sillhouette. Also great on the apex at the grill also. I used to love at Qsine before it was changed.
  22. We were on the Apex two months ago, and I also noticed fewer photo opportunities. We used to enjoy taking a photo package, no longer. The photographers seemed bored and took the same old pictures. With such good camera's on phones, guess getting obsolete.
  23. We also avoid any buffets. Unfortunately some people do not wash after using the bathroom.
