How full are the ships sailing now?
Cruise a holic replied to wallysdtr's topic in Celebrity Cruises
We sailed on the RC Adventure a few months ago- it was mobbed. Much less staff but full. The ship was in horrible condition also. We also did the Oasis- which was also full, but better service and amenities. When I booked cococay during and pre pandemic on Royal, paid $100 pp for the day, now over $300 pp. We sailed on the Equinox last march was much better staffing and the ship was at least 90% full, for the same thing- I understand we are in a period of inflation, but ....... -
Prices are crazy. Not only for the cruise, but for all of the exra's. The lines are clearly trying to make up for all of the lost revenue. So sad since many of us have lost income during the pandemic. We love to cruise and enjoy entry level suites, but will have to adjust. I don't know if any meaningful sales will happen as many prices have more then doubled.

Coco Cay Thrill Water Park question.
Cruise a holic replied to Homelines1977's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Yes Any one who goes into the water park must purchase a ticket. She will love it. I am sure that you will want to join her. -
I would recommend that you dine and see the qsine presentation at least once. Food was fine and if you do not like what is being served they will alter the menu for you. My DH doesn't eat any fish and they did provide him with a different meal. Also, they have two menus per week. You might prefer one menu over another. They give plenty of time between courses so that shouldn't be a problem. Enjoy

We really try to book sky suites or higher. However due to the obscene increases, might not in the future. We might consider CC class and dining nightly in sp restaurants. We are elite plus, but since the zenith level requires over 1400 more points then we have, we probably will never reach it. Celebrity should have a category between elite plus and zenith with increased benefits. -
Aqua Class Worth it on Summit plus question about Blu
Cruise a holic replied to NJRonbo's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Have done AQ on Summit and found it disappointing. First, we didn't use the persian garden- used it one day for about 1 hour. We also didn't appreciate any of the alleged bonuses in the stateroom. We had the smelly atomizer removed immediately. In blu, not necessarily healthy, tables for two really one long table, as a bunch of little tables are on top of each other , so not private- We also like to dine early and had a long line to enter the restaurant . If we do not do a sky suite, and want a good location and extra points, we book a CC cabin and take a specialty dining package. -
Problem with the cabana on the Edge class ships, is that they aren't private- they are located in a public busy hallway. I felt like a caged animal with people walking by looking in at me. As a suite guest, you have plenty of seating on the retreat deck. But I guess some people enjoy the experience, especially if non suite guests.

Amenities as previously stated are the lack of a retreat deck. We love the Reflection. However we truly enjoy the retreat deck on the Edge class ships. Our favorite S class ships are the reflection and the Silhouette. Enjoy your cruise! Dine in the lawn club grill !

We had an issue regarding kids knocking on our doors late at night. Some also went screaming down the hallways. We did report this as it happened multiple times.

If you cannot cruise due to a Hurricane and do not have travel insurance, does Celebrity give you a credit? While I typically do not sail during hurricane season, just curious about the protocols. You might not be able to fly into the cruise port, or sail to desired destinations. Anybody know what options one could expect. Thanks

I enjoyed her. She works very hard and seems to be around often. Some other cruise directors aren't around much and aren't funny. Some really obnoxious- We have had many of them unfortunately on many cruises.

We used to have very well trained competent people answering the phone. Today I feel like a call center of inexperienced people now answer the phone. I have been disconnected, given incorrect information on multiple occasions. We have been cruising over 22 years- mostly Celebrity and Royal. If representatives are properly trained, perhaps business would increase for the cruise lines. Hire and train better people Celebrity please. I also just started using a TA for easier access to information.

Celebrity Reflection Signature Suites. Thoughts?
Cruise a holic replied to K12Guy's topic in Celebrity Cruises
We enjoy the reflection. However if the cost is about the same, I would definately book a royal suite. Larger, better location, especially if you are prone to seasickness and two bathrooms! -
No Unless things have changed.

Did you have the window washing cage in front of your side porthole window the entire cruise- We did. It was parked outside the porthole window. Perhaps better on the Edge class then on the S class ships

Wait times for seating at Blu, is this normal?
Cruise a holic replied to keifernny's topic in Celebrity Cruises
I purchased the 7 night specialty dining package which allows me to dine in different sp restaurants for my Apex 1/7/23 cruise The price was $300.99 Not called unlimited dining package- but with the exception on lunches allows me to dine in sp restaurants nightly. -
We were in Labadee in August. We used to enjoy it. Found it full of sand fleas- bring bug spray. The (suite) lunch also had many insects flying about. We really enjoyed coco Cay and will try to pick cruises that stop their instead of labadee. Or no longer get off the ship in labadee. Too bad as the beach is nice.

We once had an aft sky suite- couldn't use the balcony. All day direct hot sun and soot. Tried putting my swim suits out to dry on the chair- big mistake! Got full of soot. But again, why do you need a big balcony? Need room for a table and a couple of lounge chairs.

Summit Boston-Canada 9/11-9/21 Notes From Onboard
Cruise a holic replied to 5:00_Somewhere's topic in Celebrity Cruises
We recently sailed on the Oasis of the Seas. We were worried about contracting covid. I wore my mask in crowded public venues and tried to stay away from any crowds. People jammed into elevators, perhaps not aware that we are still in a pandemic. Fortunately my DH and I didn't get covid, but I heard that many people did. Our next cruise is in December. I will bring a mask. We both got our new booster, but will continue to avoid elevators and crowds on our upcoming Apex cruise. -
We aren't balcony people at all. First, my DH has had skin CA so he isn't allowed in direct sun. Second- we much prefer the suite inside to be great. We had the Royal suite on our last Equinox cruise- loved it. Never used the hot tub on the balcony. We love the Edge class suite deck and luminae. That to us means so much more then a balcony. Unless you have many people in your suite, why is a "big balcony" important? PS. best to avoid direct sunlight!

We no longer dine in blu or take aqua class. Last time on a S class ship, they had a long line for blu. It is first come first serve. If you are on line very early, you get seated. If not, you wait or come back after 7:30 when it opens up. We save our money book balcony cabins and dine when we like in Specialty restaurants. The unlimited dining package works out best for us as we don't use the other aqua options like the persian garden. Sometimes, if the price is good we might book cc for the extra points and small perks. Lately we have been in suite class.
