  1. Sailed BA Haven when new. Not a favorite ship of mine. Yes, the roof retracts and at least it has one compared to GA. At some point there were a couple broken panels and don't think it opened after that. The pool will be full with maybe 8 adults standing in it.
  2. 12922 is like the start at 2:22. I don't get comment about door in bedroom having to be closed as you can see in the video plenty of space and never an issue for us. We were on the TA last year and lots of noise, unusually abnormal creaking especially from ceiling left of TV in living room. Room has a ton of switches. Some operate the drapes and shades behind the drapes. Balcony cushions super thick but we could not use due to weather. Special Haven elevators just a couple rooms down. Room had Acqua Panna, Pellegrino, and Flow plus choice of coke products plus the three bottles. We were lucky to have the legendary Gary and forgot assistant but he too was great.
  3. Prima advertised three or four of those type shows but how many actually happened? Last fall they kept moving times around and changing things or not having at all.
  4. MKing, is part of the ten pound vest the little boxes of cereal from the buffet?
  5. For us, the issue was we didn't get flights until 40 days out so it leaves little time and fewer options for the third person.
  6. Welcome to cruise critic. They will not bring drinks to room with beverage package. We've had the butler start out with their introduction saying such and numerous reports here. OS and higher have different perks like in room soda and water included plus bottles of booze. And the POA has different rules like wine instead of booze, unless changed. If that report on POA that they got butler to deliver beer under a package, that is not usual.
  7. When we went twice for dinner on Prima it was not very busy. When we were on Escape we went for lunch twice and it also was empty. All times food was fabulous as was service.
  8. Hadn't heard about this. We had 12922 and it had separate bathroom and bedroom from living room.
  9. Did yours have heat? When we were on Gem it didn't have a heater so relied on the fill for warmth.
  10. Ok, Danno. Like many things Prima, cold weather not your friend on this ship including the large outside, open Haven area. The Haven restaurant actually very good as was service generally but ymmv. They have tons of room with two sections. Food same as other menus. Deviled eggs great. They only had a couple dinner extras like prime rib one night. Want canned coke products, that is extra. Bar has a drink smoker if your thing. Lots of books with pictures. You can sneak out the big door port side, forward Haven lounge to go out. The sinks between the lounge and restaurant in the rest room operate in ghost mode. Wo Fat out.
  11. Agree 100 percent. Saw all the discussion about possible reductions but not for the forward OS.
  12. Cagney's is open for breakfast and lunch for suite guests in the venue. You can't order it to room like the other ships. The wood fired pizza in the buffet is very good.
  13. Their bidding for YC generally not a big savings. Note the shower in a YIN is coffin sized.
  14. Proof? The removal was listed as "S" suites. The OS on Jewel Class were "H" and had Haven access. They reclassed deck ten to DOS which only confused things. My guess, just like years ago when aft balconies became own category with higher prices. Computer probably said ten always sell before nine so charge more.
  15. I would have booked an inside on 12 and stuck with it. Newer rooms, great location. With a gty you could end up anywhere.
  16. There was one report here, probably mis-understood, of escort back on. Never seen it. There has been report of separate line at GSC to go back to ship. Did not experience. Getting back is usually more spread out so not an issue usually.
  17. We did a TA last fall and there were a couple nights with specials like prime rib. I love it and hardly ever get it but I passed for doing lengthy surgery removing fat for the standard two filets with less cutting.
  18. The suite experience on POA is different than other ships. The concept is the same though. They will not bring breakfast or lunch from Cagney's like other ships to your room. If a suite with booze, it is/was wine instead. Shoe shine? Maybe advertised never offered but maybe due to me not taking work shoes along. Escorts on POA, did not experience over 10 days but really not needed. Laundry usually is not three days but use as worst case.
  19. Buffet is a scenic location for many on ships. I understand. The problem becomes the buffet is for eating and way too often people camp out in there making it an observation lounge and those wanting to find seats to eat becomes difficult.
  20. Yes, it was as a perk for lats at one time before FDR roughly. Even went twice once as it was a suite invite.
  21. There were actually a few reported here and we even had discount in account once for a cruise. They were short time frame. Whether people are still getting them, haven't seen any recent reports.
  22. Welcome to CC. There is also sprite zero. Default is by gun vs can if gun offered. Note the Prima has two Haven elevators that will whisk you in the aft area on most floors except a couple. Indulge and buffet will be packed. Haven restaurant was good.
  23. Welcome to CC. We did 12 days on Sun awhile back when kids 12 and 8. It was Baltics and port intensive. The kids had a great time due to the room next door had kids same age and hung out and went to the club. The club is at the front of the ship and prime location oddly enough but pretty basic unless upgraded. There were only 48 kids onboard. Have not been on Encore but Escape and Prima. That being said, Sun is an old school ship built in 2000. I'd never sail on it again. Buffet is dinky, sports bar has limited hours for food to name a couple downsides. Pools are decent though. Encore will have much more to do and things to see. Plus it generally gets good reviews.
