  1. We were on deck 15 near the aft elevators, under the spa, so no noise from there and it seems the aft elevators aren’t as busy s the forward ones. There is an over hang from above so shady and protected from rain.
  2. I get the same error too. Very frustrating. I know I’ve booked excursions much earlier than a year out in the past. As long as they are listed in the Planner I’ve been able to book in the past. it also won’t let me book the spa. I click on Reserve Now but then it won’t let me select a guest, and the page is full of available treatments. No error here it just won’t let me select a guest. But it will let me order bottles of vodka for the room. update, the different browser worked for the spa appt but not the excursion.
  3. Many years ago Rick and I did a dive from Coki Beach, but I think visibility wasn’t very good. Next year we’re in St. Thomas 10AM to 10PM, I think I have Tommy convinced to go over to St. John’s to Cinnamon Beach. We haven’t been to St. John’s in a long time.
  4. The differences in the old and revised drink packages have been posted. The main differences I see is the increase in price and the increase in drink price included in each package. I think the biggest question is will they raise the price of all drinks that were $12 to $15 and all drinks that were $18 to $20, so that the packages net out the same. Or will the drink prices stay the same and the value of the packages increase along with the price?
  5. Sky has real balconies, but they are small. A normal balcony room on Sky is smaller than an IV room on Apex. The closet in the room on Sky is bigger than the closet on Apex. The shower on Sky has a curtain on Apex a door. Specialty dining is cheaper on Sky. Sky has Alfredos, Apex doesn't have an equivalent. There's a few things that come to mind.
  6. May-August 24 opens Wednesday. OP was looking for later.
  7. I think 23/24 were released in August last year.
  8. We had mixed shots at Vibe on Joy in January.
  9. The person reporting wasn't much of a drinker so I didn't ask. Lately I only frequent Celebrity, Princess and NCL boards and there has been no chatter of closed bars or no access to alcohol while at Grand Cayman I have seen anywhere but Celebrity. Both NCL and Princess have drink packages that most passengers use, so I think there would be chatter if the same was happening on other cruise lines.
  10. I wonder what is happening on other cruise lines while at Grand Cayman. Dailies posted in a Live From report from NCL Dawn's recent stop in Grand Cayman indicated 3 bars were open throughout the day while in port.
  11. They will probably just put two 2-tops together for you.
  12. On the Joy last month we were able to book shows using the TV in our room. Did it on boarding day prior to sailing, very easy.
  13. Agree! I will think long and hard before booking another cruise out of San Pedro.
  14. When we were on the Joy recently all the movies accessed via this movie option did cost $. But if you hit the TV button on the remote there were several different movie channels playing movies for free. You would have to be lucky and click into it when something was starting or just start watching a movie already in progress. There was a Drama channel, an Action channel, etc.
  15. I have more cruises with Celebrity than other cruise lines and prefer Celebrity and I am recently off 15 nights on NCL Joy and will list some differences I've noticed, although I will say all the different cruise lines I've cruised are more similar than different. Celebrity doesn't offer an equivalent to The Local (O'Sheehan's on other ships I think) but I can't think of another cruise line that does offer a table service included venue that isn't the main dining room. Celebrity's all inclusive booking option includes drink package, wifi and daily gratuities (what NCL calls daily service charge) with no extra charge for drink package gratuities, they are included. The wifi is for the length of the cruise and not just a number of minutes as NCL includes. While NCL offers drink package, dining and wifi. Celebrity's drink package includes bottled water. They offer a Classic and Premium similar to NCL. With the drink package Celebrity will only give one drink per card at a time. On NCL I noticed they only needed one of our cards when both ordering drinks. Specialty dining on Celebrity was pretty high and recently the prices have gone up and an additional gratuity is charged that didn't used to get charged but I guess NCL has always charged the extra gratuity. Celebrity does offer a discounted specialty dining package similar to NCL but you can't book the actual reservation until on the ship. If looking at Edge, Apex, Beyond or Ascent be aware that most 'balcony' rooms are Infinite Verandas that are essentially just a big window that opens and not a real balcony. Celebrity doesn't offer the Broadway type shows, but does usually have a production show similar to Elements on NCL. Dress for dinner venues on Celebrity is published as no shorts, but since the restart there are mixed reports. But generally dinner dress would be nicer than what we saw on Joy. Celebrity doesn't do formal night any more, they call it Evening Chic with an expectation of a bit nicer than usual but not formal. If you have a credit balance on your onboard account Celebrity will credit your card on file, you don't need to collect cash from guest services. Celebrity doesn't have a Vibe equivalent. These are some of the differences I can think of now, I'll stop back if anything else occurs to me.
  16. During our recent Panama Canal cruise on Joy they opened Vibe at 5AM on the canal transit day and provided coffee, tea and danishes. It was a nice area for the transit day and also very nice on port days, but even on sea days it never felt crowded.
  17. Lots of good northern lights last summer visible in northern MN. No need to travel to Alaska or Norway.
  18. Last summer we spent two weeks in a lido deck balcony and had no noise issues.
  19. They're supposed to go on sale tomorrow, unless they're delayed like Europe was. As mentioned Eclipse for 2024. May 11 sailing to Bermuda also stops at Martha's Vineyard. May 19,26, June 2,9,16,23,30 July 7,14,21,28 all to Bermuda Then August 4 is NJ to Iceland and August 16 Iceland to Boston. Then a few New England Canada cruises before sailing to FLL October 11.
  20. While Celebrity and Princess are very similar, a notable difference is that Princess has indoor smoking areas, specifically the casino. Princess does usually offer a non-smoking casino on formal nights. Another point, my experience is that formal night on Princess is more formal than evening chic on Celebrity. If you like the Princess Hawaii itineraries give them a try.
  21. Pretty sure I've seen Europe 2025 cruises posted already.
